Message App - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Maybe I'm missing something but how come nobody has come up with a messaging app for the HD2? I think it is common knowledge that the stock messaging app sucks and I'm just curious why nothing like chomp or something similar hasn't been made for the HD2. Can someone educate me?

try this one. it will disable your htc messaging client and will be replaced with a more simpler but fast one. also by using this one your MS Voice Commander incoming SMS speech notification will now work. and if you don't like it you can just uninstall it to revert back to your default one.

thanks for the suggestion, i will give it a try right now. any clue why there hadnt been any third party messaging apps created?

Change to WM6 SMS Messaging Application

I would like to find a way to disable/uninstall the Palm SMS/MMS messaging app and use the Windows Mobile messaging app instead.
I used a HTC Trinity running AX3L WM6 (before I dropped it and broke the screen ) and I would really like all the messaging (E-mail, Pushmail, MMS and SMS) on the Treo I use now to be all in the same place instead of 1 app for SMS/MMS and another app for E-mail.
Been looking all over Google, these forums and TreoCentral.com and found several posts asking this question, but the only replies were something like "Why would you even want that, the Palm app is so cool" ... well...
I do want it! So I hope someone can help me find a solution
Kind Regards,

Completely Removing WP7s Notifier

I'm trying to remove Jaxbot's WP7s Notifier. I really like it but I've had conflicts with S2U2 and default it always opens my email account options instead of SMS.
Not quite sure where to look to remove entries using Total Commander.
Can anyone offer advice pls?
Edit: Should've mentioned that I have already uninstalled the app but it still kicks in when sms arrives.

Android Messages .apk???

Does anyone know where I can find the stock messages .apk (from 2.2 or 2.1)? I really prefer it over any of the market ones and definitely over the Sense messages application.
Send a pm to darchdroid, over in the cdma hero development. He created an aosp Rom, and may be able to give you the apk. Or check the nexus 1 forums, if there is a diff between the apps for low and high res devices.

I prefer it to Handcent and HTC's version. If you find one please post it here!
Me too! Please post if you find it. I'd like to see if it works better do connecting to my work's exchange server. HTC's app doesn't work, but I tried with the default mail app in the 2.1 emulator and the stock app works.
Actually, is the messages apk the email app too or is that just for sms?
Thanks,
Nick

Just SMS...
What I hate about the HTC Sense messaging application, is that it's dumb. It tries to send SMS from any phone in the contact list. It doesn't go to the 'mobile' by default. I was trying to send an SMS, and it choose the 'office" land line of my contact to send the text. I was trying to find a way to set the 'mobile' phone as default for messaging, but couldn't find the setting.
anyone have this? i'm looking for it as well.
I hope some good soul will upload this. I'm looking for this as well. I really hate that the htc sense messaging app does not have an auto delete feature. This is included in the vanilla message app of 2.1. It's not really hard to delete old messages every now and then but having it automatically done brings make things easier. heck, even wildfire's htc sense messaging app has this!

[Q] group sms w/ iphone users, minimizing 3rd party apps

I am some times involved in group messages with my friends(all iphone users).
I like the stock messaging app, and I have hated all 3rd party apps that i have tried(gosms and handcent).
My question is: Is there anyway I can retain the stock messaging app as default, but am still able to use another third party app to view and reply to these group mms? With my limited experience so far, handcent and gosms both require their apps to be the default app to work. I would rather much avoid this.
or can someone suggest me another app that will allow me to read and reply to my friends group messaging as seamlessly as they can?

You should be able to use other messaging apps, and still keep the stock as your default. Same with the browser, there is a stock browser, but you can use another one as a default (i use chrome). depending on the rom, there may be a setting for app association.

well, thats why im askin a question. gosms and handcent both require themselves to be set as default apps to even enable group messaging to work. both of those apps are crappy enough that i dont want them set as default.
and there doesnt seem to be a way that those apps can thread my messages together AFTER i have received em. they have to be set to default before receiving group mms
You can try groupme, its an app strictly for group messaging and you don't have to use it as a stock messenger.
I just looked at the way GroupMe does things.... blech. it's amazing to me that NO one has implemented a good third-party solution to the group messaging thing. Apple is so often behind the times on new features, but they implemented group SMS YEARS ago at this point.
As for a stock SMS replacement, I like ChompSMS. I agree that Handcent and GoSMS are both... not good. Chomp is a clean interface. still doesn't do group SMS though, so if you like the stock Messaging app for normal SMS then I guess stick with it.

yea i hate apple, but their emojis and group messaging are the only things i like.
i have emojies, but theyre no where near as clean and easy to use as the iphone. and somebody will make lots of money if they can finally come up with something that will seamlessly integrate android to ios group messaging.
Maybe think of switching to AOSP? Group messaging is default

i love this rom so much. and im so used to sense. i really dont know how i feel about swapping over to aosp for such a "simple" feature. im just hoping for a good alternative

[Q] Request/Question: Audio Clips in Hangouts

Hey guys....
I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to send audio clips through hangouts text messages. I am happy with hangouts overall and i like having it integrated with text messaging but i frequently send audio clips to friends/fam through text messaging. I have not been able to find a way to do this on my nexus without downloading Handcent.
Is there a mod possible to allow this? Or am I missing something???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

haha dont know why i went with the large bold text... sporadic i guess.
Thanks for the advice. I really dont want to use a 3rd party app though. I feel like they should include the capability in hangouts....
take this with a grain of salt, but i thought i read that they were looking into that and voice calls with an upcoming update
you can always ask the question here though (https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/hangouts).
