I have a problem with my HTC Magic, some time ago, it just stopped getting a signal, and it wont connect to the network. Have tried to replace the sim card with another, but it didn't work. So i was woundering if it would help with installing a new rom, or radio? - can someone please help me with this, i don't know anything about how to see what version i have installed or anything.
You need to provide more information.
Are you running a Rogers stock rom?
As i said, i don't know anything about all that. I've just upgraded my mobile at HTC's site, with the HTC Sense rom
Sounds like you should be checking with your carrier for tech support first. Flashing the radio or a new ROM might just make things worse.

Hi,
I want to upgrade the ROM of my HTC Tytn II to the version NoThrills WM61 NLD V3. I was wondering what happens to the software, which is currently installed on my device, by the phone provider (KPN Netherlands), like EasyMenu, after this upgrade.
I'm not saying that this software is that important to me, but I just want some more information about this.
Thanks for your answers,
Dennieku
everything will get erased as u will need to do a hard reset...u can back stuff up and do various backups to things u want but u will need to search for that
The phone will be wiped clean and the ROM you upgrade to will be the only thing on it. You can use UC to add stuff you want to the new ROM on first boot (provided that the new ROM supports it).

OK, thanks for your answers !!!!
yeah, technically it gets wiped clean, but mine still has some orange software that got installed the first time it started up after i flashed it.
hey guys, currently hating myself for rushing into this so badly...
i DO NOT have a backup of my stock rom
ive rooted my nexus s, it is the i9023 (thats what it says on the back) and im looking to either unroot it, or connect to my carrier through my current rom (peter alfonso 4g ics)
My phone isnt 4g, its 3g.
whenever i try to flash the rom for unroot (i9020t_9023.zip) i get the seemingly common Status 7 error... but ive google it aplenty and have found no fix
even if i did want to change the rom, i cant, because the pete one is the only one that seems to work... feel free to make suggestions, ill try them.
the last thing is my carrier. im on vodaphone australia prepaid. im not exactly sure how, but apparently reflashing the radio helps?
thank you for your help
Hello, about a week ago i bought a brand new htc hero, and bein the idiot i am, i installed a custom rom, before activating my sprint phone
All i want to know is can i activate my phone even though it has a custom rom?
Yeah I'm pretty sure you can still activate your phone, all you have to do is call them and they'll do everything from their end. I dont see how rooting or putting a custom rom on will hinder you, unless you went in person or something.
It will need to be a Sense rom, I believe. AOSP won't cut it. If you're on AOSP, just do a backup and flash a stock rom. After you've done the activation, you can just restore the backup.
I just got a 1S for my wife, and as soon as we activated the SIM card it downloaded an update, and once I installed it she keeps getting "no signal". WiFi works just fine, but she can't make calls, send SMS or use data over 3G/4G.
Browsing the TMo forums and some threads here, this seems to be a common issue, but I can't find a definitive fix. What's my best option?
I haven't rooted or done anything to the phone (yet), but I've done it with all my phones, so I'm very comfortable if I need to flash a new radio or anything like that.

You can't flash a new radio. It's locked down no s-off. Only way to update radio is a ota or a ruu or use a aosp Rom. Aosp strores radio on system partition. Want my advice send the phone back.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
I'm not sure how to fix it, but you can flash radios through recovery with an unlocked bootloader, no need for s-off. It works with 1.09 and 1.06 hboots. I'm not sure if any other hboots do. you would need a custom recovery, specifically twrp I believe. Available radios are in the development thread.
hboot 1.09 is the newest version on which flashing radios works. Anything newer than that is a no-go.
Luckily theres CM, which allows flashing radios regardless of hboot versions, since CM uses radios differently.
Need some help for my device [T-Mobile] HTC ONE S (S4). I'm using in INDIA.
For the past 3 years i have used this phone in 3G network with out any issues. Last week i flashed a new ROM but after that i don't get 3G signal.
I tried a lot of ROM's and Radios but still it is not working. So i flashed the stock ROM and RADIO but still its not working. I understand the bands the T-Mobile uses differs but it was working fine before flashing a different ROM.
I don't know what to do.
So please if any one using the same do upload your ROM and RADIO and other things that influence the phone to work.
P.S: I posted in various threads and asking for help but i don't get any reply hence started a new thread so everyone like me can find it useful.
Thanks.
EDIT:
I flashed the Official T-Mobile JB RUU and my phone started to reboot after showing up the "preparing Phone Storage" (soft bricked)
Finally solved the issue:
I have flashed the official T-Mobile JB RUU after relocking the bootloader, S-ON, change CID- ********(Stock cid , In my case its T-MOB010).
Now i have a brand new phone working good.
