[MOD][250510][CM 5.0.7-T3] Framework + Browser Mods by Wysie, pershoot and bcrook88! - Nexus One Themes and Apps

All the changes have been merged into CyanogenMod 5.0.7 ! Please do NOT flash any of the current listed versions. I will remove this message if bcrook88, pershoot, or myself updates anything.
Also, I've since release a Spare Parts update for CM5.0.7. Find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688347
Hi all,
Note: This replaces your framework and services.jar, meaning Trackball Alert will not work, custom clock colours will revert, and notification in successions will also not work (since services.jar is replaced).
ALWAYS NANDROID FIRST !

Old Post:
Been a while since I did anything for Android, so I decided to first tackle one of the problems I have with it, which is, "Why must Android show the red arrows when I make a mistake, even in stealth mode?" I find it quite "insecure" .
Anyway, I know there's a morph to have a invisible lockscreen posted in david1711's thread, but this mod allows it to be an option . Enough talk, here's some screenshots:

Changelog:
250510:
- Added ability to change battery percentage colour
- Added option to hide clock on status bar
- Attempt to fix the percent alignment on D/S devices
240510:
- Implemented 2 additional options.
- "Show unlock message" will hide the "Draw pattern to unlock" message
- "Show unlock error messages" will hide the "Sorry, try again" message
- However, if you get the incorrect pattern, it will still show the 30 seconds countdown. That is not configurable, don't intend to make it configurable as well.
- Removed Browser.apk from package since it's included in CM5.0.7 latest test releases now .
230510:
- Notification items' colours are now changeable. HOWEVER, not all notification items will change, as some of them are implemented in a different way by the app dev themselves . Not sure if I can do anything about it yet.
- Re-organized SpareParts. For those asking, I have no idea what PLMN and SPN means, I took it from the source variable names. What I do know is they are related to carrier, and you can change them for your carrier colour to change.
- Updated source to CM's latest .
180510:
- Added various options into spare parts to allow configuration of clock, date, and many other colours. A reboot is required for the changes to take effect! SPN and PLMN is for the carrier .
170510 #2:
- Removed the swipe function in browser . It broke the Browser completely. Sorry about the error.
- Browser.apk no longer available as standalone since all it does is increase the max tabs from 8 to 16. It is still in the update.zip .
- Fixed the PIN lock buttons getting cut off if you use both visible dots and custom message. Thanks to _avatar for the help !
170510:
-Made some modifications to Browser.apk, as follows:
- If in fullscreen mode, swipe down on the title/address bar to show notifications/status bar, touch anywhere on the webpage will hide it back.
- Increased max number of tabs from 8 to 16.
- It is included with this mod update.zip because I've made some changes to framework, and I'm not sure how well it will work on the previous CM5.0.6 framework. A standalone link is also available, please report if it works for those on CM5.0.6 or CM5.0.7 WITHOUT the rest of our framework modifications.
160510:
Added option to make the delay on incorrect pattern customizable. (I dislike the delay!)
Changed the correct delay of PIN lock by avatar from 750ms to 0ms. Report if there're problems .
150510 #3:
Made it show 6 apps by default, otherwise it will cause a boot loop unless you've used spare parts first.
150510 #2:
Fixed a visual glitch with the focus/select drawable being cut off for the right-most apps if set to 12 recent apps.
150510:
Test release with configurable number of recent apps. Configure in SpareParts. 9 and 12 is now working but looks wrong (left-aligned). pershoot/bcrook88/myself are working on it. Removed previous version as invisible slider broke too many things. Give pershoot's links a try if you are looking for them since he has not added the invisible slider part. For those who have flashed my previous test release containing Browser.apk, please push Browser.apk from CM5.0.7-test2, or simply reflash CM5.0.7-test2 (or test whatever, if you're on D/S ).
140510:
Updated with invisible slider option . Screens: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6475563&postcount=38

Thanks to everyone who guided me on GitHub, I've used it before but never really utilized its merging and branching power . All source is now available on http://github.com/Wysie. For these mod, you will want to look at frameworks_base, frameworks_policies, spareparts and settings.
Special thanks to:
pershoot - For being a very helpful guy throughout, esp. with his help with the make commands (although he suggested I do a full make ), and for the 15 recent apps layout, from which 9 and 12 was derived from
bcrook88 - Same as above, without the full make
Credits:
david1711 - I think he came up with the invisible lockscreen morph
britoso - I used part of his XML for the custom message
Original Invisible Lockscreen Morph:

To Do:
Apply changes without rebooting
Have an option in Spare Parts to reset all colours to defaults?

sweet thanks so much!! downloading now
looks like the link is broken....

Re-uploading, try in a minute or so, I based the update.zip off pershoot's 15apps, and forgot to remove one line (not major, but I'm ocd ).

thank you kind sir.....great work!

Thank you! I got tired of people peeking over to see my lockscreen combination lol.

A lot of apps FC after flashing, the notification bar disappeared and I cannot switch off my phone
I previously installed pershoot's OCUV kernel + 15 Recent apps on CM 5.0.7 Test 1

[Request] optional text into the lockscreen
I love it
Request:
would it be possible to implement an option like this in settings:
So everyone can insert a specific text into the lockscreen??
thread
-------------
by the way, invisible lockscreen breaks Trackball Alert (till TA is updated to 507)

same for me!
I would even say all apps produce fc

I'm not using CM at the moment. I switch back and forth between it and my own custom Desire Rom. But this is the first useful lockscreen mod for CM that i have seen so far.. Great work!

rori: Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it. By the way, with the britoso mod, what happens if you have the dots on? Or are they permanently gone?
For those of you having FCs, I'll be honest with you, I have zero idea why . Are you all using any morphs? How about flashing CM5.0.7-Test, then my update.zip again? Pershoot's changes will also replace services.jar, although I'm not too sure if it will affect anything. I'm doing a repo sync now and will make a version for test2 asap.

ill roll this in tonight to the 15recent.
good work

Thanks pershoot !
Updated update.zip file in first post for CM5.0.7-test2!

That xml layout mod is for the slide-lock-screen with the slider below the text. There are ways of showing a view below another, example , Not tried this but it looks feasible.

Any chance you could implement hiding the clock and/or date?
I have a live wallpaper that displays the time. (ping pong)

Hi britoso, thx for the help. Actually I've already added a line of text under, but it doesn't seem to look good. Adding the text directly over doesn't look good either .

Thanks pershoot .
By the way, custom msg is working nicely when lock pattern is disabled. Still working on the one with it enabled .

will this lockscreen also work on G1/MT3G with CM5.0.7-test4?

Advanced Launcher - Now with more sweets [Version 2.1 - 25.09]

Hi folks,
I have even more customized the Launcher.apk from rogro82.
I implemented some functionality to create folders in the launcher and to move apps from the launcher into these folders.
As the result the "main menu" should be more clear and controllable.
I'm confused by myself. So here's the description: u17 ist still the old version for cupcake releases. There is a standalone and a replacement. Both are for cupcake based builds.
Then there ist v2.0.1. It's the new version. It's for donut based builds. And it's currently only the replacement version, standalone will come.
So don't use v2.0.1 on cupcake based builds (like cyanogen's 4.0.4 stable) and don't use u17 or u17_replacement on donut based builds (like the cyanogen experimental branch).
Ideas:
Code:
- In the app tray launcher give the possibility to group apps and folders so that they are divided by a thin line with the group name
- Fast up the icon loading even more
- More customization options
Installation (Standalone Version)
Just install the AdvancedLauncher as every other app - It's a "real" home replacement now.
Installation (Replacement Version)
- Plug your USB cable into the phone and your computer
- Make a backup of your original launcher: "adb pull /system/app/Launcher.apk LauncherBAK.apk"
- Remount the /system filesystem: "adb remount"
- Unzip the advanced launcher "unzip Launcher_update_x.zip"
- Push the advanced launcher "adb push AdvancedLauncher_replacement.apk /system/app/Launcher.apk"
- Remove the odex file "adb rm /system/app/Launcher.odex"
- Reboot your phone.
Reverting the installation after making a backup (Replacement Version)
- Remount the /system file system: "adb remount"
- Push your backup: "adb push LauncherBAK.apk /system/app/Launcher.apk"
- Reboot your phone.
Misc things
- Themed Version from overground - Thanks a lot and keep this work up ^^ [v2.1 replacement][Hero-Themed]
- Themed Version for XROM also from overground [v2.1 replacement]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
v2.1 - 25.09
- Readded the standalone version
- Added possibility to disable titles for desktop icons
- Some more I forgot about
v2.0.1 - 16.09
- Fixed hiding from tray launcher
v2.0 - 16.09
- Changed the version numbering xD
- Rebased on Donut
- Added Home-Screen-Full-Bug-Fix (xD) from xidominicanoix
- Back button now closes the submenus
- Added the sensless possibility to configure the count of columns of the tray launcher
- Added the sensless possibility to disable the app names in the tray launcher (if disabled, only the icons are shown)
This works on the CM experimental branches ^^ - Well, it should...
Only the replacement version for this time, sorry about that. The standalone will come soon.
Update 17 - 02.09
It's just a very small update.
- Fixed the shortcut-delete-bug when pushing the replacement version
- Added the possibility to add custom wallpapers for our themers
So there's no need to upgrade for all those who has update 16 installed
Update whatever xD
- Added replacement version from u16. Testet on cm4.0.4
Update 16 - 31.08
- Fixed "drop-beside-folder" crash
- Added possibility for backup/restore of settings/submenu data
- For all themers: Resigning and installing should now work, sorry for that.
If you can't install or anything please post logcats of the process Thank you all.
Update 15 - 30.08
Warning: This version is the first which is a "real" home replacement. This means it can be installed like any other app and you can choose between the original launcher and the advanced launcher. This also means the package name has changed which causes your configuration data to be invalid.
You can "import" you configuration data by copying it into the new folder:
Code:
cp /data/data/com.android.launcher/shared_prefs/extendedlauncher.xml /data/data/com.irrenhaus.advancedlauncher/shared_prefs/
cp /data/data/com.android.launcher/databases/extendeddrawer.sqlite /data/data/com.irrenhaus.advancedlauncher/databases/
cp /data/data/com.android.launcher/databases/extendedsensor.sqlite /data/data/com.irrenhaus.advancedlauncher/databases/
cp /data/data/com.android.launcher/databases/submenu.sqlite /data/data/com.irrenhaus.advancedlauncher/databases/
cp /data/data/com.android.launcher/databases/extendedhome.sqlite /data/data/com.irrenhaus.advancedlauncher/databases/
cp /data/data/com.android.launcher/databases/launcher.db /data/data/com.irrenhaus.advancedlauncher/databases/launcher.db
- Fixed the "cannot-add"-bug
- Fixed the "same-name"-bug
- Removed submenu settings
- Submenu handling is now done fully by drag and drop (Drop a folder from the launcher into the delete zone to delete it. In the menu there is a create submenu button. Long press close button of a submenu to rename it.)
- Added choice dialog when dropping an app icon from the launcher or a submenu onto the delete zone (Default action [hide, mvoe to main menu] or uninstall) so the apps can be uninstalled easier
- Added the possibility to create shortcuts to the submenus onto the home screen
- Hiding & Unhiding apps is now faster
- A few other things I can't remember
Update 14 - 24.08
- Well, no bug fixes, sry. u14 is u13 - but on CM 4.0.2
Update 13 - 14.08
- Fixed the "'" bug
- The only times when the app list is reloaded now is the startup and when you quit the settings dialog, so when you move apps using drag and drop the list is immediately updated. The whole thing is faster now.
The source can be found at my git repository
Have fun with it
whoa very nice gonna follow this development =D
nicee i really like where this is going. having ability for folders within the drawer and putting apps within those folders is AWESOME! subscribed. can we hope for one to come to the jac hero roms? haha
im assuming this is built off of rogro82's launcher mod right?
with this launcher are we able to choice how many screens we want? If so what needs to happen to get this to Hero so we can have only 3 screens while using Touch?
Wow, this will be very useful when done. I hope this gets into a nice theme too.
I would like to have something like this with the other launcher that can hide the icons. Best of both worlds, being able to hide stuff completely (ie widget icons) but also manage the apps you dont want hidden.
Good work
advanced features
Looks really good so far!
I think if you could add a feature that popped up a context menu when you pick up an icon and drop it. (like dxtop) Its way more convenient and 90% of the reason that I use dxtop. Uninstalling programs and finding them in the market takes a tenth of the time.
Please consider trying it, IMO, It would put this launcher over the top!
Amazing. I've been waiting for exactly this since day one of apps2sd. I cant wait till its ready. I'd love to beta test for you if your looking. otherwise, i'll just have the wait patiently.
Nice nice nice! Just yesterday I was thinking about this feature ;D
Very nice idea! I would love to hide all the useless crap in my main menu Like the themes and icon packs I have installed... or the default apps that I never use (google chat, amazon MP3, email, netcounter, Terminal, twidgit (it's a widget...), voice dialer, voice search )
Any way I can port this to Magic's cyanogen 3.6.8?
Well, the Launcher is based on the one out of the repositories from cyanogen. This launcher is the one from rogro82 with my patch to close folders when an app is started out of it.
At this point I just have customized it more so thanks to rogro82 you can completely hide apps AND create subfolders.
I really don't know on which mods it will run 'cause I ever used cyanogen's...
But when its ready, we will know for shure
I haven't tested this code yet.. Is it ready? Let me know and I'll pull from you.
Not yet ready but I am close to it ^^ I'll let you know

you never use Terminal!! wow, also u can delete amazon mp3, remount system as read/write and rm the amazon.apk from /system/app folder i wouldnt do that for email or google chat though
Looks really great. But what about performace?
Im also going to pull your code, so that we are on the same level again... Are you working on other features at the moment?
Im thinking about a setting to show the active homescreen number.
Too bad we cant use one thread so that this board doesnt get flooded with changes and will get hard to keep up with by users. Maybe we should setup a "shared" thread and use something like a google project to have a shared base. I dont know how you think about this.
Hi, i think your job is all we was wating , folders into menu! It's fast.
Thanks.

This support with zeppelinrox supercharge?
Sent from my Milestone using Tapatalk
i didnt include it. i`ll see what i can do next week.
Is this based on your update to DannyDroid's MIUI version or Galnet? And what's the difference anyway?
Which MIUI-flavor would you recommend in terms of stability and speed?
Thanks for your hard work - good to see new dev's working on the stone!
it is based on miuiandroid version with the usual improvements (ext2, for example.).
i thought of using galnet version but since miui is a closed source, galnet can`t really do much with it. and, it comes with unnecessary apps.
anyway, i`m still new to this and i hope to improve with each version
thanks do you how to enable 5 point multitouch in miui?
another question for hardware keyboard, when i press alt+g its output is "-" not "%",same for all others, can u fix this?
nim, why don't you combine your ROM with hebmiui ROM?
it could be very helpfull
or at least explain to us how do you app2ext on miui, I couldn't make it, thats why I'm using your ROM, wich is very good btw!
Checking the new one for few days and will reply. seems nice and smooth!
Just flashed this ROM today because i wanna try out something new
first, i'm very impressed by its speed. though it's by no mean as fast as CM7 and FM, it is fast for a MIUI rom. The horrible lags that pretty much killed MIUI for me are not there (or maybe there but are subdued somewhat). So if super high speed is not one of your concern, you can flash this rom for a change
Other than that, I will have to further test it and see how. it's not laggy so much as to push me back to my CM nandroid :x

It should be default. AOSP Nexus ROMs have it. Even if not, I will still try to add it, because without it it looks just weird for me...
EDIT: OK, anyway, gradient working
Do you know when the zip file is ready? I haven't really used adb much lately

CWM says some errors, like I must use EDIFY type of updater-script and update-binary, but I have tried to do this but failed... anyway I'm now working on it as I also don't want to use adb for this and always set permissions manually

Thanks for the fix - the orange overscrolling effect has been really bothering me (and the fact that you can't change it anymore (unlike CM7))
Just a question: What is the "fade to black effect"?

On galaxy nexus when you are pulling down the notification tray, things behind it slowly fade to dark as you pull the tray. This should have been default.

Any idea of fixing Phone dial-er app?
Layout:
The erase key is on right side of input box,
Shouldn't the be in bottom right? sorry if I'm wrong, but i used to the bottom right.
Reason for the fix : When you choose a contact from smart dial, the first few numbers are hidden, only the last few digits are visible and make the user feels like it wasn't chosen. I'm using the international format like +YYXXXXXXXXXX ...
Search bug
Are you able to search a contact from call log tab or contact tab (not the people app)? I'm kind of missing it.

Thanks, is this issue present even in CM7/CM7 with holo launcher? Because I think it will be due to our phone's resolution/screen size... isn't it?

Flashed the current update.zip ....
Appreciate the blue cursor in the input box
Ideas:
Is it possible to have blue active icons in the notification drawer? Let that be white at in-active state.
Also the dial-er app drop down arrow while getting more than one search result (Where is it??? CM bug?)
The missed call notification is now in black & white. Is it correct?

1st of all, I changed all icons as they should be. That means, back/white icons are in holo theme, official in Android 4.0.4+ now. The icons before with exp. build 1 were GB ones, because in android source repository are no JB icons for LDPI/MDPI yet - I guess that is placeholder for later... So I came with at least this solution because I don't think they will continue with LDPI (old) resolution support for icons, because they wasn't even in ICS...
And for the blue icons... I'm trying to make it as close as possible to official CMX/JB as possible, because for our resolution default layouts are just uggly.. No blue icons in CMX, so no icons that I will do Just official JB because for LDPI is yet undone. It will be good to have theese fixes merged to marcellusbe's port so it wont have this type of issues.

[ROM][UVLH5][CWM]Blaze Tweaked ICS 2.2 UPDATED 12/26/12

Hey again everyone. While I am calling this Tweaked 2.x, this is really nothing more than moving all that was Gingerbread Tweaked over to the ICS UVLH5 base (although some extras have been worked in along the way). This was an INCREDIBLY TIME CONSUMING process, as I had never tinkered with ICS before - but on the upside I'm pretty happy with how things have turned out.
As always, this is still a work in progress (for example the lockscreens are sorely lacking in the current version here), but enough is done to warrant it being posted. Let me know if things work, or if any oddities come up. Also feel free to comment on how this might improve or if I've gone about anything in a not-so-smart way. If there is anything you would like to see (or wish wasn't there), let me know. I can't promise I'll do anything about it, but such requests keep me motivated and learning - and thats been the driving force behind my tinkering since it began.
I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS (GOOD OR BAD) AS A RESULT OF FLASHING OR ATTEMPTING TO FLASH WHAT IS POSTED HERE!
Usual rules apply - while very much stable in my experience you should be cautious whenever you flash. Make sure to wipe data/factory reset to avoid issues. Flash in CWM recovery.
As the Blaze is now privy to a number of AOSP-flavored ROMs, this DOES include a kernel - a great one by merwin that can be found here - make sure to thank him, he put A LOT of time into it! Also - this is still pretty much unthemed. There are a few minor theme-ish things going on in Mms and the Dialer, and the pulldown looks much more ICS-ish, but nothing major by any means - check out the screenshots for a bit of an idea of what changed.
CWM Installation instructions:
- Backup your current setup/data
- Download file and place on sdcard
- Boot into CWM recovery
- Recommended to wipe data/factory reset in CWM recovery
- Select and install the .zip you put on your sdcard
Download links can be found further down. Let me know if there are any suggestions/issues/etc - happy flashing!
Also - remember that this is the development thread, so all general questions/comments/conversation should go here. Thanks!

TWEAKTOOLS HOW-TO
Ok, while I find the interface to be rather intuitive, I figured I would put together a VERY BRIEF walkthrough on at least how to get started tinkering w/ tweaktools.
Getting started
First off, while you can use adb to run tweaktools from a computer, I'm not going to discuss this route (for those with the knowledge it's totally doable). For those going about things on their phone, here is what you need to do:
1) Open the already-installed Terminal Emulator app, then type "su" (without the quotes) at the $ prompt and hit enter
2) At least the first time you do this you'll get a prompt for superuser access - allow this of course
NOTE: If a message appears saying su could not be found, go into the Superuser app - you should see a prompt saying update su binary, which you should agree to, and then all should be well
3) Now at a # prompt, type "tweaktools" (again without quotes) and hit enter
4) You are now in tweaktools - read the screen, make selections, and have a good day.
Installing themes via tweaktools
NOTE: This section is in hopeful preparation that there WILL be a theme or two for this rom - we shall see. Currently it does nothing as there are no themes.
1) Start tweaktools
2) Select the themes option
3) Select a theme you are interested in
4) Here you can choose to view a screenshot (this should open it up in your browser on your phone), just DL the theme, just flash the theme if already DLed, or do a combination DL/flash.
Installing debloated/selected system apps via tweaktools
1) Start tweaktools
2) Select the applications option
3) Choose what you would like to do, which includes:
- Looking through a number of debloated/preselected system apps available through tweaktools and installing
- Removing any of the system apps that have been installed via tweaktools
- Install/remove system apps from your external sdcard
NOTE: Remember - these are apps that are going to /system/app - which is different than installing an apk from the play store for example.
Installing CWM-flashable mods via tweaktools
1) Start tweaktools
2) Select the CWM Mods option
3) Choose a general category to look through
4) Select an option. Here you can choose to just DL the mod, flash the mod if already DLed, or simultaneous DL/flash. Also, for boot animation/shutdown options you can choose to view a preview gif of the animation, which will open in your phones browser.
Installing "tweaks" via tweaktools
1) Start tweaktools
2) Choose tweaks menu
3) Select between init.d and non-init.d based tweaks
- REMEMBER: Many of the tweaks require init.d support (whether by kernel or other means) - which is baked in starting with Tweaked 2.1
4) Select the option you would like to install
NOTE: While I look them over, I rarely understand all that a script can do, so in no way do I make any guarantees regarding these!
Updating rom via tweaktools
1) Start tweaktools
2) Select the Check for Updates option
3) Here tweaktools will check what rom version you are and let you know if there is an update available on tweaktools
4) If there is, choose "y" to install the update
NOTE: This is also a handy way to see what version of Tweaked you are running
Tweaktools FAQ
Q: I can't connect/get into tweaktools - what gives?
A: Sometimes servers get busy, so there will be occasions where DLs will be slow, not work, etc. The best bet is to just give it some time and try again in a little bit.
Q: I can't connect/get into tweaktools - something about vold.fstab... what the hell?
A: A number of people have been discussing edits that make the system treat the external_sd as the internal sdcard - and tweaktools needs to know where to point when it comes to downloading things. As of right now the script is set up to handle one particular approach designed by merwin that is available via tweaktools, so if you hand-edited the file yourself chances are you've moved things around in vold.fstab so the script can't recognize what you did. Try the approach available via tweaktools (you can download the file from the main tweaktools site), or if there is something that you did that improves upon this approach PM me what you did and I will see about editing the script to recognize such things
Q: I still can't get into tweaktools - something about busybox... seriously what gives?
A: This really shouldn't happen, but on the off chance that it does flash this (md5 384F4F63E76D1BE372A444F10FC6D90D) and you should be good to go again.
Q: I keep getting an error when tweaktools boots into recovery to flash something - wtf?
A: Given all the recoveries we have available - this does happen. In particular both the touch and nontouch 6.0.1.4 clockworkmod recoveries from their official site will not work with the boot-into-recovery-and-flash function of tweaktools. All others have been tested and seem to work though!
Q: So I am in tweaktools, but my app/theme/cwm mod doesn't seem to stick/flashes REALLY fast?
A: Most situations can be resolved by simply clearing downloads, exiting tweaktools, and going back in after a little time has passed. Another thing to try is to make sure the phone is NOT connected to your computer once the phone reboots to go into recovery. Something else that I have noticed is that if a problem still persists, you can just download the file then manually go into CWM recovery and flash it there. They can also all be found here.
Q: When I start tweaktools it says there's an update... now what?
A: Well you should update - the only time updates are made available is when something is fixed or some new functionality is added. There are technically two things that can be updated - the launcher (this update will require a reboot into recovery), and the menu (this does NOT require a reboot). You should definitely keep these up-to-date.
Q: Where can I find more information on tweaktools?
A: While it isn't loads more by any means, more information on all that can be done with this incredibly useful utility can be found here!
FAQ
Q: I lost/don't have root after flashing this - what should I do?
A: First off, go into the Superuser app and accept the initial update prompt. If that doesn't work or the prompt never happens, flash the v0.99 version of SuperSU (md5 6722626255C8321C47922DA6A3484BA0) - note that this slightly differs from the one found here mostly to simplify and specify it for the Blaze.
Q: Why won't the lockscreen change when I select a different one?
A: Lockscreens are a wip - currently the only options that work are Circle and AOSP (which is what shows if you select ANYTHING other than circle). This also means that any options specific to certain lockscreens in the lockscreen options section of TSMParts will not do anything, as the lockscreens relevant to such options are not available.
Q: I'm having overlap issues with statusbar icons and center clock - what should I do?
A: Yeah - things may overlap, so you will have to either change settings to avoid the issue or just deal with it.
Q: Why can’t I back out of Google Now? Can you update this?
A: This is a known issue with the mod (see their FAQ list here), and it looks like support has come to an end as well. The workaround for the issue is - after pressing the back key if you then press the menu key and select Refresh, it will back out of the app properly. You cannot update this mod, and it looks doubtful that anyone will take the time to do it unfortuntately.
Q: I set a statusbar icon to hide, but it's still there. What gives?
A: The statusbar icon tweaks may require a little effort on your part for changes to take effect. All changes can be elicited with a reboot/hotboot, BUT for most there are other ways:
-- Bluetooth/vibrate-silent/alarm icons/ime -- just change their state (on/off or vibrate/sound, etc)
-- No sim -- this one requires a reboot/hotboot to elicit the change if it's already active.
Q: Scorched governor...? Never heard of it. What is it?
A: From the great merwin himself -
'Scorched' - this driver is rather similar to the 'lagfree' governor both in its source code and its purpose. The difference is that while lagfree seeks to give performance-on-demand by increasing immediately to the maximum CPU frequency, Scorched jumps immediately to a mid-point frequency and then gracefully increases or decreases the CPU frequency as required. This provides both performance-on-demand as well as extended battery life.
Q: How can I mess with the settings of the included Scorched kernel?
A: The included /system/etc/init.d/91scorched file, when run from terminal emulator (see below), can tell you what your current settings are (even if run without su). For those that are knowledgeable and comfortable with such things, you can manually edit this file to tweak just about every setting available in the kernel (settings take effect upon reboot). For more of a graphical interface the Android Tuner app is highly recommended. While it is a pay app (and well worth the $10), the free version will let you do most things - check it out!
To run 91scorched from terminal emulator type the following:
Code:
/system/bin/sh /system/etc/init.d/91scorched
Q: Why don't you mention blah blah blah in your FAQ? It would have helped me a lot!
A: My bad - PM me anything you think should be added to this that would be helpful for the general user base!

Well all that's left are the lockscreens really - and I haven't touched any of that yet. The update that'll be coming soon implements something I never got around to with the gingerbread tweaked... then it'll really just be lockscreens and maybe one or two things left on the long term to-do list.
Bro been running this since its release. Everything works. But dsp manager. I jus deleted it.

I'll start working on getting a Diff. DSP man to work with this ROM.
Can you add the new updated Google now to your 2.1 update please

EDIT: Now are you referring to making it actually out-of-the-box functional, or updating given the little "there's an update on the play store" blip within Google Now? If the former - see previous response. If the latter - I haven't tried digging around in anything, but methinks updates would be better handled by those responsible for the Google-Now-for-ICS mods folk than I. Sorry if I misinterpreted the original request.
EDIT2: Read through some of the Google-Now-for-ICS thread... things don't look all that great on that front. Apparently those in the know on this whole process lost interest/moved on to jellybean stuffs, so no updates will be coming from them. The reasons behind this decision will likely lead me to not doing anything as well (newer update changes lots of things, big pita, etc.) - apologies for the not-so-great news...

[MOD] Kronic UI for Stock MM (status bar (aosp/network indi) QSettings / Notifcation)

First off this is not verified working on every variant but i think it will work. It is safe to test. If it does work on your variant please post what rom you are using and your variant model so i can monitor compatibility.
- Features -
* NEW * network speed indicator for status bar (in / out / in and out) modes, enabled in settings > display > bottom of page. Included in any versions 2 or higher (may have less compatibility then version 1)
(added a screenshot that includes what the indicator looks like)
removed User icon from keyguard status bar, removed padding for space.
aosp style status bar (clock not included yet - to get circle clock use g3 tweaksbox xposed module)
custom data in/out indicator included in merged data icon (aosp style)
slightly modified pulldown (quicksettings and notification screen) with new theme (black background (not full black but close to it) and bright blue foreground)
bright blue navigation buttons
themed lockscreen notification popups (recommend to use dark lockscreen wallpaper) Left the non notification writing white for now because i have blue in my wallpaper so it's readable, i can make an alternate version with blue writing if someone really wants it (for clock etc).
did not finish the quicksettings themes for qslide and qremote notification widgets - if someone really wants this finished ask... i don't use it.
removed quicksetting animation because i find them lame and not at all impressive. ( just on and off now or multistate)
- See screenshot for preview
- updates coming (possibilities include dialer, contacts, settings apps and more, accepting requests)
To be sure uninstaller will work (especially when testing for first time) This is the process. (this is to ensure that people using other variant roms have a backup if there is an incompatibility)
this is originally made from d852 bell/rogers stock MM rom, but i suspect will work with all stock variants that aren't heavily modified
- using a root file explorer copy these two files (system/framework/framework-res.apk // system/priv-app/LGSystemUI/LGSystemUI.apk)
- using a good zip utility (i do this in windows with 7-zip) replace those same two files in the same paths in the uninstaller flashable zip. This will ensure you get the exact same original files when you flash the uninstaller. The ones that come with the uninstaller are from the rom version stated above.
Kronic UI V 2.0= http://bit.ly/25H8tfO (do full backup before trying this one unless you are using Denerom MM stock rom.)
Kronic UI V 1.1= bit.ly/1TPBBqh
V 1.1 Uninstaller= bit.ly/1TOsTxN
Screenshots Below - Feel free to leave any questions or bugs reports or suggestions for improvement. For bugs please give a screenshot and preferably use paint to circle the issue unless it's easy to pickup
Install instructions
- create full backup (do this for first install to make sure there is no compatibility issues, or at least do what i said above and backup proper files)
- reboot to recovery
- flash installer or uninstaller
- reboot (no cache wipe required)
google blue on black wallpaper to find wallpapers that look nice with this theme.
-BUGS-
I found a bug where the font size in display settings doesn't show properly, the xml data is showing, feature still works (changing font sizes) will fix in future release. ** this bug is fixed i'll include the fix in the next build !!!
one user had issue with making phone calls (this bug is unverified as its only one person, if another person has this bug please let us know) haven't heard back if other dialers work yet.

Would appreciate it if you guys let me know if it works or doesn't work on other variants, there have been around 40 downloads so far and nobody has said anything.... regardless hope everyone enjoys it though !!

I don't think it will work will fulmics, it's heavily modified for UX5.0 UI. I have a feeling if you install it systemui will just force close over and over, let me know if you do try though please.
Glad it works on f460l 30c though i'll start a list.

usually 560, but most stock roms will go as low as 540, or 530 with some minor bugs. In the screenshots i'm using 560
Is there a mod that you can Make the clock go center with this Blue and black theme?

I thought it already included but maybe i did that in xposed and forgot to add it, so yes there is, I will add it in next release. If you want it centered in the meantime i think you can do that with g3 tweaksbox.
i'm also going to remove the in out arrow in the network speed indicator since there is already arrow icons included in wifi and mobile data icons.
no guarentee's but it should be done by the weekend when i have some time.. it's like a 30 min thing to mod the code then repack everything and upload it (the uploading takes the longest because i only have 10 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up on my rural connection)

what rom are you on, can u try using a different dialer and tell me if you can call that way. It may be that the stock dialer is referencing the framework in a non generic way, whereas a generic dialer might not, i'm just curious.

if you upload your framework-res.apk (the original one from your rom)
then i can probably make a diff version for your rom quick. I dont think there are many changes in the framework so it shouldn't take long.
if that doesn't work then i'll need the systemui too
Can you give me your email?
Sended the framework.
