I'm using IC3ROM 2.5 and also Helix launcher. works fine, except one thing. I want to change the wallpaper.
But if I use the built in HTC photo's app to select wallpaper, it force closes.
I tried to just use the wallpaper selection for Helix, but I only see one wallpaper with a leopard.
I tried using the last choice of using the wallpapers tied to the AOSP Home launcher, but I only see one wallpaper there also.
Does anyone know how I can add more images to the Helix wallpaper path? I tried doing a search in Astro for Helix or wallpaper and can't figure it out.
I assume that using apps2sd has somehow caused this to happen - just a guess though.
the location of that wallpaper is in the actual helixlauncher.apk under the "drawable-mdpi" folder. You could try replacing it with the one you want as your wallpaper.
And have you tried replacing the htcalbum.apk to see if that fixes the problem of the FCs?
EDIT: Here's a metamorph i made so you can change the leopard wallpaper - if replacing the htcalbum.apk doesn't fix the force closes.
*Notice* com.helixproject.launcher.apk has to be located in /system/app/ for this to work so you may have to move it with adb
Code:
adb remount
adb pull /system/sd/app/com.helixproject.laucher.apk HelixLauncher.apk
*check to see if "HelixLauncher.apk" is in your tools folder now - if it is then...*
adb push ./HelixLauncher.apk /system/app/
adb reboot
Now it will be located at /system/app/HelixLauncher.apk so you can apply the metamorph.

im having a problem with the live wallpapers particularly the nexus one that you can customize the background and colors (found on the aiicus roms), im using skyraider 2.5 now and i ripped the apk from the aiicus rom then pushed it through on adb to system/app now i have the wallpaper but when i hit the settings button i get a FC message, but i can set the wallpaper in its stock form no problem, any ideas?
In which directory can I find the two default wallpapers that come with LauncherPro?
I use the ADW launcher, but I like the metalic-grid-like wallpaper that comes with LauncherPro, and that's the only reason why I still have LP installed. If I could copy this particular wallpaper and save it somewhere then I can uninstall LP.
Thanks!
I was wondering the same thing.
In my case, I switched to the metallic grid just to see what it looked like. I wanted to return to the original wallpaper, but it isn't one of the choices!
I also tried some custom wallpapers, and that wipes out the original wallpaper too. Where is the original one kept?

You can get the wallpaper that you want directly from the LaunchPro apk file. Downloaded it from here:
http://www.launcherpro.com/
On my Ubuntu PC, I can unpack it because it actually is a compressed file like ZIP. There are two versions, named wallpaper_dark.jpg. One is in the drawable-hdpi folder. The other is in the drawable-mdpi folder.
Now if I can just find the one I am looking for.
Correct - some of these wallpapers are embedded into the apks themeselves.
I couldn't find the original default LauncherPro wallpaper, and I hate the only two that they offer. So I uninstalled it, and installed ADW.Launcher instead. I found an Ubuntu wallpaper in market, so now everything feels more familiar.
I installed the GO Launcher EX that came with the Google Apps RAR in the developer forum and noticed that I am unable to set my own custom wallpaper. I am only able to set a Live wallpaper or the default one that comes with GO Launcher EX. Anyone else have this problem?
When I attempt to do so, I go to the gallery, select my picture, crop and size it, then try to set it. It does the whole "Saving" thing but when returning back to the launcher, nothing has changed.
I've tried both from the Wallpaper option on "Menu" as well as under Theme Settings in GO Launcher EX.
Also, anyone know of a way to change the Amazon lock screen? The Amazon lock screen is still present after installing GO Launcher EX and will change the wallpaper to one of the random lock screen ones after turning off the screen and locking the device anyway...
Thanks in advance!!
EDIT: I should also note that I am rooted.
I have the same problem but am not rooted. I would love to disable Amazon's rotating wallpaper in favor of one of Go Laucher's.
I was planning on going into the system files and locate the folder its pulling the wallpapers from. Hopefully all we have to do is replace them with the wallpapers we like. Go launcher wallpaper doesn't shift left and right for me either when screen moving.

the problem seems to lie in the Fire's own stock lock screen. given the fact that it is rooted, see if you can disable the stock lock screen (using No Lock from the android market) and replacing it with something like Go Locker or WidgetLocker (though some say WidgetLocker doesn't work well)

The wallpaper for the launcher is located in the launchers apk. The wallpapers for the lockscreen are in framework-res.apk the standard place for an aftermarket launcher to pull wallpapers from is framework-res.apk (correct me if I'm wrong. The rom would pretty much have to be custom to fix this. Therefore it would be best for us to get a working recovery(twrp or clockwork using short presses to move through menus and long presses to select) then focus on ICS or HC(probably better off ICS) so we have a soft home, menu, back button.
Then changing wallpapers would be a breeze.

I got no lock to work. Same solution used to get Android Market to work. Get Titanium Backup installed (need the paid version) and you can use it to change the installed No Lock app to a system app. Reboot and it works fine. Will need to have your Kindle Fire Rooted.
Ok, Now I have No Log working, but how do I replace the Lock Screen?
GO Launcher EX wallpaper, make it stick
It's not a question of disabling the locker; regardless of whether the phone locks or not, the default Kindle slider screen appears on wake-up, and after sliding, the default Kindle wallpaper is there instead of GO Launcher's wallpaper.
I, too, am greatly annoyed by this.
If pyrostic is right, then regrettably there's no simple way to fix this. Which would suck. (Many of us are not developers.)
Widget locker works well for changing the lockscreen wallpaper at least..

It won't stay after you restart.
Benjyp's procedure worked for me. I posted more specifics about what you can do about them.

OK. I've got the wallpapers to not change back to the Amazon ones by changing permissions on the /data/data/com.android.settings/files/wallpaper file, but I can't get scrollable wallpapers to work. I'm using the long rainbow one that came with Go Launcher but it's fixed and won't scroll. I've tried changing the settings in Go Launcher to the Default setting (to allow scrolling wallpapers) but that didn't help.
Anyone else having this problem?
Would you mind sharing how you changed permissions? I.e. what app used and changed from/to what?
My mom downloaded a live wallpaper and like the others, it keeps getting changed back.
so to stop it from changing wallpapers you have to root it?
yea gotta root to stop it from changing wallpapers. I feel like a solution will come out that doesnt require root...hopefully

Thanks, that solution works for me.
I would really enjoy being able to use this widget. I had extracted the apk file, (along with the 3x2 weather clock), and eventually got them installed in the system/app/ folder, but the widgets aren't present.
Perhaps someone would have a way to convert these to work on the M8? I'm mainly just looking to get the App & Shortcut widget, but the weather clock would be a nice bonus.
Thank you!
[EDIT]
I went over to the HTC One threads and found some apks and tried them. I got the app to appear in my app drawer but when I go to add it to my screen, but it just crashes. I have it installed as a system app and set the correct permissions. I'm guessing the apks just need some modification for Sense 6 since they were set for Sense 5. Any help with this would be amazing.
UPDATE:
I have extracted an apk that ALMOST works. I can add the widget to a screen, but it force closes when I try to assign an app to it.
I have included the apk, so any help would be great.
I pulled the apk from the Verizon M7 NuSenseSIX rom, so props and thanks to those developers.
Hey, I wanna set the lock screen wallpaper to be as the desktop wallpaper.
I tried to set it by choosing a wallpaper in the lock screen wallpapers section under "themes" but I didn't found where the stock wallpapers path is.
I'm on liquid smooth kitkat 3.2 milestone.
Thanks.
I don't think I got you right... If you wanna set a wallpaper you don't need to apply it via theme engine, you can choose any pic you have on your phone regardless of it's location. You just have to select it from "documents" or "gallery".

In Themes - Wallpapers I get only the wallpapers from the installed themes (I am on Android 5.1 tho). If you're looking for a wallpaper that comes with a theme, being it for desktop or screensaver, that pic is embedded in the theme apk. That's a zip file so you can open it with WinZip or similar program and look inside it for the pics you like. You can extract them from there, save them on your sdcard then set them as your desktop wallpaper if that's what you want
