seriously the only reason i use it is because i can sync my contacts and appointments.. itd be nice if i could recieve emails on my phone but you have to have an exchange server to do that... So honestly whats the point of it because not too many people i know have one and its just makes sense that if i wanted to send and email on the go i could but no if i type it, it will be sent when i sync the phone with the computer... Is there anyway to get mail without a exchange server? I know if i add an email i could get mail that way but itd be nice to sync everything in outlook...
I don't use an exchange server and I can send and get emails fine.
how is that possible my send/recieve button is shadded out... the email i have set up with it is my comcast.net which is a pop3... what is yours?

You can set up your comcast.net account on your phone just fine, just add a new pop account to your phone and go from there.
i know but i cant have both my outlook and add the same email to send and recieve can i? im just saying i should be able to do it without having two of the same accounts you know?
Dont worry about Outlook.....just use your comcast account...I don't understand what you are saying....I have the same setup as you. What I don't understand is why anyone would sync with Outlook.....maybe once....the first time to get your Outlook contacts on the phone...but after that - why bother? I get my mail wirelessly....and now all my contacts are on my phone...no need to sync anymore.
I just autoforward all my work email to my gmail account (2GB). Then I set my phone to check that email. The only workaround that I have found since my company is too [email protected]$# cheap to get me a balckberry even though I am part of IT....
Anyway.... hope that helps.

I'm using outlook, to sync tasks, contacts, calendar events, notes, to have a backup for any unforeseen events.
For mailing I use a gmail account whith IMAP access (way better/secure than POP), and for sending mails google's SMTP.
hello guys, if first like to start off by saying that i did try searching but was unable to find a solution. I currently have my email address at msn.com. I'd like to be able to access my email and recieve notifications of new emails on my phone.i realize that windows live program does not work with the tmobile proxy, so i found a program that forwards email from msn to gmail.com so i figured id use outlook to check my forwarded email, but outlook wont connect through the proxy. what im asking now is whether theres a program out there that allows me to check my email (msn.com or gmail.com) through the tmobile proxy? thanks in advance and all answers are appreciated.

I think you might be a little mistaken. The 5.99 T-mobile plan includes unlimitted free e-mail. As long as your outlook e-mail uses a standard port (which gmail does), then you don't need to use any sort of proxy or anything to get it to work, it just works.
If you do have the proxy set up, then you would need to make a second wap profile that circumvents the proxy.

Now that MSN (Live Messenger) and Yahoo have joined there networks, you can chat with your yahoo contacts from any MSN/Live Messenger client.
So if your pocket PC is already equiped with Live Messenger as it should be, just register an account (free) and chat in the same time with both: your Yahoo and MSN contacts.

Hi,
No need to try, it's a public knowledge:
from june 2007, yahoo messenger and live messenger/MSN have connected their network. This means, if you are a MSN user, you can just add in your contact list any live messenger user and chat with him live as you do for your yahoo contacts.
The only limitation is that you can only chat, you can't use voice chat and video chat features.
Anyway this doesn't affect much PPC users, since those video and voice features are not available yet on the mobile versions.
(except for the voice clip feature on live messenger, but it is not a true two way live voice chat)
And yes, if you want to use live messenger client, you have to register an account on www.msn.com, generally with a microsoft mail address (@msn.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com etc.)
P.S.: I've never heard of that palringo client.
Using those multi-client messengers is another alternative, of course. I was just suggesting that if it's only for yahoo and live messenger conctacts, no need to use multi-clients since yahoo and live messenger users can communicate with each others.
So If I have A Yahoo Email And now I creat A MSN Account For That, I Can't Use My Yahoo Add List When I Connect With Live Messenger And If I wanna Chat With Them I Have To Add Them With My Live Messenger?!

Exactly.
If you only add your yahoo contacts within your yahoo messenger, there is no way MSN network can know you also need to reach them when you use MSN messenger. Not to mention they don't even know if you're also a MSN user or not!
Therefore you need to add the yahoo contacts you wish to reach through MSN Messenger from within MSN Messenger, using your MSN account.
Cheers!
Hi Guys and Girls!
Just a quick question I wondered if any of you forum guys had an idea of a way to receive e-mails from 2 Windows live email accounts to one device?
I have a hotmail.com address which I've had for ages and is used for messenger, facebook and any other crap like that and i have a live.co.uk account that I use for all important e-mails such as Jobs, banking etc.
I dont want to set the one account just to forward to the other account but as far as I can see you can only sign into the windows live application with 1 ID and you have to keep switching. Also it won't let you set up the other e-mail address through the general Email account setup.
If anyone has any ideas that might help I will be very appreciative!
Many Thanks All!
The only way as far as i know is to just bookmark one of the hotmail accounts in your browser and just refresh it whenever you want to check for new mail. It works for me. Cheers.

Yeah but it kind of defeats the object of having Push Email though...
Sorry, but it don;t know of any way to do it. as you have already noticed, the Live app only supports one account. Maybe something like fleximail or a similar 3rd party mail app would allow you to have multiple hotmail accounts??
First - thanks to everyone at xda for all the tips and help - what a great site!
Now don't laugh when I say that I have a T-Mobile (Danger) Sidekick. I have been happy with it but I want to replace my SK and my Pocket PC with one device instead of two.
With my Sidekick, I got a separate [email protected] account. My email came through without me checking it and I could also receive and send from some other accounts (like my personal earthlink account) The email came through without me having to check for it. (I don't know of it was push or pull but it works quite well)
I am seriously considering getting a Fuze but have some questions about email:
1 - Does AT&T give you a separate email address?
2 - I have read that I can get my personal earthlink as well as gmail and yahoo mail on the Fuze but do I need to have AT&T's "express mail" to get it?
Thanks so much.
To my knowledge, at&t doesnt give you an email address. You could use gmail with the gmail app or through opera, but im not sure if theres an app that would work with the touchflo 3d tab. If you have a live account you can use windows live mail and that does work with the tf3D tab. Im not sure about earthlink or gmail though. Hope that helps.
att gives you an email address, but it's *your phone number*@att.mywireless.com or something like that.
you can also get a media net email address.
with the fuze, my yahoo mail is pushed to my phone at the sametime it appears in my web browser (if i am online at the time)
i also have active synch synch up to my corporate exchange server email using https
Thanks for the replies.
I don't have an AT&T account (yet) and I do not use Outlook for email so I am unfamiliar with both.
I still don't understand: what exactly does AT&T's "express mail" do? Will I need it in order to get my earthlink mail on a Fuze? I know I can check mail through the web browser but will the WM email client receive my earthlink email automatically or do I have to manually check for it?
