Is there any reliable solution for LED notification?
I have tried the registry tweak, but the new email LED is just not blinking. Is it possible that HD2 can't perform such a simple task, reliably?
Big thanks for any tips!!!
cheers

I need some help. Is there a way to make the green LED light blink in an other colour (red/yellow) in case of a new message has arrived or a calender reminder has been started? This has been one of the functions that worked with all other HTC devices. The LED is totally useless with this device by blinking green the whole time, only changing to yellow when loading the battery nad red when battery is empty.
I'm not sure about changing the colour, but this device actually has two led lights, I wouldn't consider it completely useless
One on the right shows the battery status:
Red - Batt Low
Orange - Charging
Green - Fully charged
The one on the left :-
blinks blue - bluetooth enabled
blinks green - Wifi is enabled
There are programs like DontForget that allow the led to flicker on reminders, mails, messages etc. Check here:-

thanks for your reply and you are right about the two LED. I was aware of this and of the relating functions. I am also aware of the "don't forget" app but this app does not change the LED on a WM6 device. I am looking for a way to bring the right LED to blink in a changed colour in the case of an event. other htc devices do so, so there must be a way to stir these LED lights. still looking and maybe soemeone has a registry hack or some ideas on this. thx
Hi research12,
did you end up finding a solution to this problem?.. I have exactly the same issue with the vox and would like to find an application or something that can do this...

I am afraid, no. Nobody could solve the issue yet according to my knowledge.
Is there a way to disable the LED indicator? Maybe a registry editing command to accomplish this?
Nope. Sorry, but it's hardware! There are solutions, but they don't work properly!

Yeah, i too want to disable the green blinking led. It uses a sustantial portion of battery for no use, which irritates a lot. Can someone here give any Registry tweak for that??
actually its consumption is very low

I've searched around a bit and no luck. Is there any way to get the screen to light up when a new SMS is received? The trackball lighting up is a nice idea, but I rarely notice it when my phone is on silent. I've looked through every option on the N1 and don't see it anywhere. I also searched the nexus forums here and with Google. Thanks.
wow you rarely notice the trackball? I find the trackball notification way to bright. such an option is indeed not available. I am not sure if many others have your problem, so I am guessing they wont make an app for that

Have you tried Handscent SMS: http://www.handcent.com/. Does the job nicely; turns the screen on with a handy quick reply pop-up. Make sure you disable the default message notifications mind.

Wow, this is perfect. Thank you!
If you are like me, and prefer the stock messaging app, then you should look at SMSAwake.
1 vote for Handcent from me.
It works perfectly with ALOT of options and settings to choose from.
I use SMS Popup from the Market and it works great. It also has its own notifications, or you can just use the default N1 ones.

Has anyone been able to use the LED on their HD7 for notificatons for emails or missed texts? Advanced config is wonderful and I'd love to see that light blinking instead of having to power up the screen just to check...
Thanks.

Hey there!
I know that there is another topics about notifications registry, but no one about this in particular.
I need to change the value that corresponds to the time the notifications stays on screen. Toast notification. I want it, instead leaving after a few seconds, stays there until I dismiss it manually.
Anyone know how can I do this?
Thanks!

Hi,
Let me know if this was what you are looking for:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\NotificationToast]
"Disabled"=dword:0
"Category"="Notification"
"Sound"="\\Windows\\Alert-05.wma"
Change it to 1, even the sound can be altered
Regards, ansar
That disabled all notifications.. I don't to disable toast. I want them to stay on my screen until I manually dismiss it (sliding it).
Do you know how?? ;/

Hi,
Even in user.hv of newest ROMs there is no more setting
You can test if it works to add "Timeout"=dword:20 when "Disabled"=dword:1
Regards, ansar
I tried. Nothing ;/

Hi,
I was just wondering the same...
Toast notifications gone too fast.
I have searched in registry for "toast"
maybe found it!
HKLM\Comm\Connectivity\wifiSplashUX\Toastinterval=600000
This is probably for wifi.
But we are close now.

Hello,
I upgraded my X10 to the official 2.3.3 before I put a Cyanogen, and I loved the ability to set the color of the LED according to the different events. Clearly this possibility is still not yet a basic functionality. Do you know an application capable of doing as well as in the rom Cyanogen.
Thanks

That's a very good option, but I find Blink simpler and much more battery friendly.
Blink -> can not manage all the notifications, such as gmail or gtalk
LightFlow -> very good setup, but I left because the test mode of the LED did nothing but retesting it seems that the configuration still works at a real notification
Thanks

I stand corrected, Blink doesn't seem to work anymore in GB...
About LightFlow, apart from testing the LEDs, did you notice any other issues?
I am interested in managing the LED light for apps like Gtalk and Gmail and also missed calls.

You need to turn your display off when testing. I just tried it and it works.
Hi,
Did you guys manage to find any app for official SE LED notificataions on cyanogen ROM?
