Android Voice SMS - General Questions and Answers

My friend showed me his android phone today n I was impressed with the phone because it able to tells the user the name of the person that send him a new text message.
is there such an app for WM?

Can't Microsoft Voice Command do this...?

well, as far I know MS VC only let u tell your phone what to do. I mean the one Android has let the phone talk n tell the user who calling them or who just send them new text message.

Moved as not software release.

Voice Mail

I had look everywhere on the web but i haven't yet found a voice mail software, a program that let u register a message, the when somebody call the program play the answer message and then the caller can leave a message into the memory of the pda. Is there any software like this? If there is can u tell me the name and the developer? (better if with an url for a trial version).
Thank u very much,

Are there any voice to text applications for HTC HD2?

hey guys. Do you know if there is any application for voice to text like the one on the HTC EVO keyboard? you can write text messages and emails. any ideas? I know that we have MS voice command but you can't write with it.... Thanks guys
So far nothing free. It's a call a number, speak and you pay like 10 a month or something. Only other thing I can think of is Microsoft TellMe. Look for it here or on google. It doesn't always work great either. Don't worry though none of them work great even the ones for Android aren't exactly flawless either.

Mango question

For those with Mango are you able to multi select text messages to delete like you can with the email client?
I dont know why this wasnt implemented into the original build but its irritating deleting each conversation one by one..
Also how is the visual voicemail on Mango? Currently im using Magik mail and I love it. Im able to set different greetings for my voicemail. The program is smart enough to greet my callers with theri own name which I find to be cool. The greetings provided are very professional and different. Is the mango version anything like Magik Mail
can't tell you about vvm, as i use google voice for my voicemail.
there is no multi select ability for messages though, not in the beta build at least...
what about multi select for picture management? the process to delete multiple pictures is similarly painful as it is for sms in nodo

[Q] all contacts as mobile

I switched from a Blackberry to this infuse 4g ive had probably 8 android phones in the past year so i am very familiar with them. I am using the serendipity VII rom annnnnd i am having a problem. I backed up all my contacts through google sync when i had my blackberry BUT blackberry automatically lists everyone as a "work" contact by default. this is fine and dandy but with this rom and maybe every android rom? it won't let you send a NEW text message to a contact thats listed as a "work" contact.. if i go in and edit the contact to "mobile" itll let me send that person a NEW text message by typing in their name in the to field of a text. Of course if i go to the actual contact i can click message but im not sue to doing that.. So i am basically looking for a way to list all contacts as mobile or i though there was a way to tell android to assume all contact types have texting capabilities. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Never had that happen, but I use GoSms and it's free.
Cranky...

[Q] Google Voice Full Integration

Can someone try this app out?
Google Voice Full Integration (sorry I can't post the link to market since I don't have enough post)
it needs root.
basically, it let you the native messaging app, or GoSMS for google voice. When you send a text message from the native app, it will ask whether you want to send via GV or native app. If you set GV to be default, you can forget about the official GV app and just use native app or GoSMS.
I have been looking for an app like this for a while.
But unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with this phone.
I have been talking with the developer through email but still no luck.
When another phone sends a message to my GV number, I receive it using the native app. But when I send a message from the native app, the other phone gets it with my phone number (it should be GV number).
So it looks like it's only 1 way for me.
So Can someone test it out? The developer will refund you if it doesn't work. just email him. He gives very great support.
btw, I'm still using the Froyo stock app. But it may be the phone since it was tested to work with Froyo.
Thank you for reading
I'm using this on an HTC HD2, so I can't say anything about your phone. For mine, however, it works both ways and I have texting blocked through my carrier so there's no way a regular text can get through. I don't get any notifications though.

This sounds like a cool concept, but seriously, no notifications?? Big time deal-breaker for me.
