Hi and welcome to XDA, Winmo is based on CE 5.2, so you will need the appropriate drivers. the sys will need to be from one of these XDA builds, good luck!!!

WM2005 available from Microsoft!!

You can get the WM2005 Evaluation from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...50-d311-4f67-9fb3-23e8b8944f3e&DisplayLang=en
Now what we need is someone to build a rom for the magician for it. Come on guys you know your s%#t better than anyone out there. Get us a working jam rom going here.
anyone has try this?
why it need large harddisk space (600MB) for temporary internet files, much bigger then we need for ROM, Extended ROM and Radio???
what is the consequencies when the 120 days trial period expired?
or maybe someone could fixed the current WM2005 bugs with this trial wm2005? just wonder, is it an emulation program for windows ce?
It's for PC not for Pocket PC, just an emulation of WM2005 and run on PC.
No it is not for PC, you must read better. It is the core operating system with emulators for PC. How do you think they develop and test roms. You think they just slap a bunch of binary code together and upload it ro a ppc and test as they go. You must have emulators to test your software. This is not only for device development but also for application developers to test their software on a OS without having to install to a ppc.
Hi,
I read it already, and I think it is WM2005 emulator only. With Software Development Kit (SDK) to create a program to run on WM2005.
I don't there is a ROM or something like a part of ROM to cook for our real device's ROM.
Best regards,
Arto.

yes it does include the SDK and emulators but also includes the platform builder to create your OWN Win CE 5 roms. Just building one now for the magician.
don't forget himalaya if you develope one.
Building as in programming and developing, or building as in compiling and installing?

The WinCE 5.0 Dev kit is around for some time now. It is not gona be easy to make a working rom for the magician. The dev kit is an standard environment to develope CE roms but you have to get or create all the hardware (magician) drivers yourself. I don't think you can create a rom for the magician just like that, but I hope you prove me wrong.
Please note that WinCE 5.0 is not equal to WM2005 ....

To my understanding, WinCE 5.0 is the core of WM2005. WM2005 is base on WinCE 5.0. So if you have WinCE 5.0 you don't have all the function(e.g. user interface) of WM2005. Please correct me if i am wrong.

i am correcting you now wen building your wince 5.0 rom you also include the user interface. Or wateva u want inside the CE ROM.
This is NOT WM2005. It is Windows CE v5, which is the core OS that is used with WM2005...but there is NO Wm2005 in it. It is an operating system without a Windows Mobile interface.
WinCE is Operating System without PocketExcel, PocketWord, etc. No licensing for those microsoft application. Also it is standard user interface, not like WM. We can say it is a Operating System without microsoft office on it.
WM is WinCE + application like PocketExcel, PocketWord, etc, completed with interface for what we see as Windows Mobile.
In my understanding, it is cheaper to use WinCE than WM
Best regards,
Arto.
NB: Yes, you need to know the hardware and memory address for those function in specific unit to cook ROM for specific unit (magician, himalaya, etc).
hey guys....
when i try to upgrade to wm2005 from wm2003se i get country id error.....GOT XDA II .......ive tried to go to bootloader mode and then run upgrade process but same results...?? any help ???
thanks

whats this exactly ?? 388 mb !!
Don't panic, this is *NOT* a wm6 professional rom, this is the SDK.
SDK stands for Software Development Kit, meaning, this package contains WM6 software development tools,
for people who want to write applications specifically for WM6.
kerkennah, can you please change the thread's title so ppl won't get confused...?

You have to check whether you have java virtual machine or not. So if you have JVM then you don't have to do anything just install any java application via bluetooth or over the air. You need jad and jar file to do it properly.
If not, then download Jerodek JVM
http://rapidshare.com/files/170448700/Jeodek_Java.zip
Next, check in programs menu for Jerodek or Java option.
Please post ur Question in the Q&A Forum - Ather
Thanks

SHA-2 support of HTC Diamond 1

Dear all,
a few days ago Microsoft updated its mail server (s.outlook.com Exchange Active Sync) with a new SSL certificate using the SHA-2. SHA-1 is abandonned and therefore device under windows mobile 6.1 and 6.5 can no longer synchronise to theirs emails, contact, calendar
I still use an HTC Diamond 1 under windows mobile 6.1 and now i can no longer access my emails, contacts, calendar.
is there a ROM for HTC Diamond that supports SHA-2 algorithms for SSL connections ?
another solution should be to have windows mobile 6.5 WEH (windows embedded Handled) with AKU 35 as it supports SHA-2, it is explained here (microsoft support kb/2986556)
(For devices using Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5, SHA2 support is added in AKU 35, released in August 2014. Users should check with their OEMs to make sure that their device is running an image built on AKU 35 or later.)
is this possible ?
thanks for your help
Manuel

"Hi
My HTC diamond was under wm 6.1 ans is still under wm6.1.
it's just that i changed the crypt32.dll package so that it supports SHA-2
I used OsKitchen zero version 1.33.5 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948
and windows mobile mobile build 29326 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64935543#post64935543
First, in Os Kitchen import the windows build 29326
then I downloaded the last official rom for my HTC diamond (in your case the last official rom for your device), extracted it using OS Kitchen
then from the directory where you extracted the windows build from the rom let say C:\OsKitchen\Sources\Windows Mobile Builds\20764\Common\MSXIPKernel (your build number may differ, my HTC dimaond is WM6.1 build 20764)
you replace the crypt32.dll directory by the one found in C:\OsKitchen\Sources\Windows Mobile Builds\29326\Common\MSXIPKernel
Start building the rom, flash it to your device
the last step will be to install the certificate of s.outlook.com on your device, you can create it this certificate file using a browser on s.outlook.com and clicking the lock icon on the address bar
let me know if it's works.
dont't worry, if it does not work (which i doubt) you can revert to the official rom.
