{MORPH} not working with themes... - Nexus One Themes and Apps

I have had my N1 since release and been installing themes for a bit. I do realize they updated to a newer version (.xml) theme control. Unfortunately I did not backup my previous metamorph when someone did a wipe on my phone....
Since I'm an idiot first thing I did was download and install the newer version of metamorph currently v1.9.8 I believe....
Realizing none of my previous themes didn't work after downloading them again... I decide let me go and download some new ones from the metamorph thread.. My assumption that the first post had the information about the new theme control, I go to town on the downloading...
Of course, they are not updated.... Anybody else running into this?
I even tried searching for the old version online but nothing yet....
Basically only wanted a black status bar and kspec battery icon... But no luck still....

You'll have to wait until the devs notice the update, and/or add .xml support. I updated mine earlier, only because I saw the all the links in the main metamorph thread. It didn't even hit me when I saw the update in the market.
Either that, or you can create an .xml yourself and be ahead of the game. It's not really that hard. There's even a .thm to .xml converter if you're on Windows.

awesome. I think ill look it up. what theme did you create?
Sent from my Nexus One using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk

There is a detailed post on how to make the .xml file.

theme creator should update in a perfect world when are aware of the change...
I am not asking for alot.... Anyway, I could not find a reliable source for a converter and I think it is a step beyond my skillz to go and manually change the theme control files on my own...
Can someone give the name of a .thm to .xml converter? I will def be willing to pay for the app, but I could not even find a trial to know whether it works well or not....
Please please pleas.... I need to add my themes... I'm an addict..

I've started a thread right here in ths forum with a download Link to this toll.
Could you use the search?

When you find a morph thats not updated yet do one of the following
1) fix it yourself with the auto-xml generate tool. Make sure you PM/bump the thread
2) Bump the thread.
3)PM the author.
Developers have a LOT of morphs and its hard to keep track of them or search and update them all.

Thanks guys...

Yes, the converter is really cool! Great work!

[THEME] [METAMORPH] Darkedge [ with video proof]

Hi all people ...i was just looking around in forums for a nexus one theme but there was not even a single good one out there but ten the Darkedge UI for motodroid got my attention and just wanted to have it on my nexus one so i just downloaded the MotoDroid version of morph and installed on my nexus using metamorph application and guess what it worked as a charm. It does not even lags and yes I have not modded any thing in the zip file.
THIS IS NOT MY THEME AND I HAVE NOT EVEN TOUCHED THIS FILES JUST TRIED ON MY NEXUS AND IT WORKED
THIS THEME BELONGS TO XEUDOXUS
requirments:

just install using metamorph as a regular theme file.
I have also uploaded the icon pack of Darkedge. Apply it with Metamorph as a regular theme and it will update all the apps that you have and if you don't have that app then it will skip that task
--"use the nexus live wallpaper but change colour scheme to ZION and background to dark. NOW IT LOOKS PERFECT"
--use the icon pack morph to update the icons
--and the app morph in the original thread is the morph for updating the theme of some applications.......be carefull as some applications such as facebook.....are updated with black background with black text on them.....making it hard to read.

OK......this slider in metamorphs settings is.....that it will delay the restart process after the theme is applied.....so if u set the slider too up then it will take very long to start the process resulting in geting stuck.....or if you set it too low....then it will restart too often making it extremely hard to copy all files in system.....and resulting in reboot sequence and eventually you will have to flash the rom again....so keep trying with change in the delay slider.....with gradual changes as if you were overclocking.... ..

did you apply all or select all of them but the framework?
Just apply all and it will reboot
looks good; any chance this will work on CM5.0.7-t1 for N1?
would definitely try it out if it can work on cyanogen's test rom
not to be that guy, but did you ask for permission from the theme makers before porting this? It's not exactly warez, but it'd be the courteous thing to do.

Doesn't sound like he ported it. Looks like he took a chance of it working on the N1 and is reporting that it does. -- That being said...it'll be cool if someone could port it over as an update.zip!

[Q] Custom theming applications !!SOLVED!!

Hello everyone,
I recently started working at my own custom theme which will be mainly flat black with white icons and android green highlights. I've shown it to a couple of friends and they really quite like it. I've updated every single image in the Framework-res.apk so it really is a complete revamp.
Now, I also want to edit some of the applications that I installed to match the theming (for example Handcent SMS and Winamp). I managed to pull the apk files from my phone, decompile them, edit the images and rebuilding them. But I can't seem to manage to push them back to my phone with succes because they get "uninstalled" when I push the files back to overwrite the originals (they are removed from the app drawer).
I wonder if anyone of you knows why and if it's solveable, I really like Winamp and Handcent SMS.
Cheers in advance!
Do you resign the app ?? use apk manager ??
I am not that clever to do that stuff, but it sounds like when you mod widget locker and you dont sign the apk file, if i am completely wrong sorry just trying to help

I did not resign the app, I didn't even know such thing excisted. I'm not that smart myself, I'm just a stupid designer knowing how to photoshop really well But other than that I just followed some tutorials.
If you could explain to me how to resign an app that would be of great help. Thanks!
Search for widget locker mods and in that post at the top there is a piece of kit called apk manager, follow the instructions and it will resign your apk and allow it to be used

thats the link with the apk manager in the thread
Yup it seems it worked guys. APK Manager is awesome, makes it all so much easier and faster
Thanks for helping me out!

You'll be the first one to know when the theme is finished. I'm making quick progress now. I'm gonna edit some more apps that I frequently use. Winamp is almost fully customized. I'm not quite sure how to pack everything up into an easy installer for you guys to use. But by that time I will ask for help again, I'm sure there will be loads of people who will teach me how to do that when they see the final product.

You changed very few things from my theme... A link to it or mentioning my name would be nice... Even the theme's name is similar... :/
I don't want to discourage you from theming but I spent a lot of time making all of those icons.
I updated mine recently too, and will continue to. Check my sig...

I wouldn't mind if you use all of the buttons & status bar background, or just certain icons in the status bar, or just the dialer, etc. using pieces from other themes is how we all get started.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Hi a question...can you give me a link (how tu make custom Icons) and how i change the background in button Menu/ SemcContact or Mediascape?? Look attachment. pleas tell me???
Thanks and greets

thought id try help.. been a while since ive used 2.1 though! lol (this was like the early 2.1 update we first got before all the roms came out)
1) i reckon the menu button background thing is most likely lurking in framework-res.apk in res/drawable-hdpi folder.
2) the background from the launcher is probably in launcher.apk somewhere although i used to use adw launcher so never really looked into that.
3) as for mediascape background it should be in mediascape.apk although im sure theres some background in there maybe from playlist section or something else where theres a separate background file. cant remember in which apk ul find it but i think it was along the lines of the timescape or framework-res apk's!
some help i am lol sorry.. but if ya wanna look at the old work i had and maybe figure something out then feel free to do so. link should be in signature below if needed!
hope it helps!! good luck

[THEME][OVERCOME]Seeking theme testers: Scarlet Dark Beta1

Hi everyone,
I've just returned to one of my old work-in-progress theme and I'm trying to update it to match the newer Overcome ROM versions. I'm currently seeking a couple of testers to simply try out the theme and see if you can find any problems/omissions or come up with suggestions for improvements.
To keep things simple, you need:
* A GSM GT-P1000 or variant
* running Overcome Series 7 v 4.0
* Knowledge of how to flash Recovery packages through CwM
WARNING: I take no responsibility for any damage incurred during testing. Take part at your own risk.
Anyway, about the theme: I've tried to develop a hybrid theme from the standard themes, the new Overcome themes, and some other good themes (with author's permission, of course). As the name suggests, the main theme is dark and red, but I've tried to keep it from straying too far from the standard theme for ease-of-use. Some screenshots of the prototype are below.
If you're interested, please post a reply or just PM me and I'll send you through the update package.
Thanks everyone!!
Reserved 1
EDIT: Patched settings.apk has been put on hold until FC issues have been resolved.
Known issues:
Settings.apk has a number of force close issues. Postponed until further notice
Currently only uses 5-button Quick Panel (since its my personal preference). If enough people want 6-buttons, I'll add that in if I can.
Time picker is still stock form. To be fixed soon.
FIXED Issues:
Notifications are working properly again.
I am interested in the Scarled Dark Beta 1 theme. I am understanding that is already fixed, so all the issues you commented before have been solved ( according with your last post). Could you provide us a link to install it?
Thank you in advance
To clarify, the bugs listed in Known Issues are still there, but it should still be usable. The theme is still a work-in-progress, so let me know if you find anything else that's not working as it should.
There are two versions of the theme: the Light version is just a skin to change the UI elements. The advanced theme also includes a new boot animation, new system fonts as well as the UI changes.
You can download from here, than flash through ClockworkMod Recovery:
Scarlet Dark Advanced
Scarlet Dark Light
If you could, try it out and give me any feedback, suggestions or problems you find.
DISCLAIMER: Make sure you backup first. I take no responsibility for any damage incurred during testing. Take part at your own risk.
@agc93:
- good work for startup!
- looks that we can exspect more
- it possible that you can post more screenshots of your work? Then more users know what they have to exspect
- and last but NOT least; Thank You for your work
i would really love to try this theme!!! i cant find 4.0 themes anywhere!

Feel free to download it and give it a shot. I'd love to hear your feedback on the theme. I've just recently quashed a couple of obscure bugs, so hit the download links in Post #4 to get the newest version.
I'm afraid development on this theme will probably slow down for a bit, thanks to no longer having a device to work with, and my impatient waiting for ICS ROMs
In the meantime, certainly download it and try it out, and let me know how it goes. You can also PM me of you find a problem.

****, sorry guys. Don't even know what happened there. Links in above post have now been fixed, so feel free to download the theme.
Although development has been paused on this theme at the moment, I have put together a patch to re-install the Overcome 4 stock theme, which can be installed through CWM the same way as the main theme. In case you ever want to jump straight back to the standard theme, just install the package from here.
Thanks for your patience and hit me up either here or via PM if you find any specific problems or suggestions.

any help would be really good thanks.
Sorry guys!!
Sorry all! I've been away for a while and almost forgot about this one. I'll try and update those links, since Dropbox is consistently causing problems for me. That should happen in the next day.
Unfortunately, I've now replaced my Galaxy Tab so I won't be developing this theme going forward. If you find any serious bugs or critical problems, you can still PM me and I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for all your help!

Anybody interested in helping create a theme or two?

Hoping there might be one or two of you out there that would be willing to help or teach me how to create themes that can be applied using theme chooser. Also I have a boot animation that I have made from a video clip that needs some tweaking. Currently choppy and sluggish.
If your interested please PM me.
If you check in the main android forum there are several guides on how to make those themes.
I'll keep looking. So far all the ones that I have found require a knowledge of xml which i am still trying to learn.

You can make a theme on the Go Launcher website... It requires you to have ether Google Chrome or Firefox..
the only issues that I have found with this website is that you can't change how the notifcation bar stuff shows up.. like if I wanted to make the battery look different than the stock one... I can't do that on the website.
Go Launcher Theme Factory
http://gotheme.3g.cn/golauncherthemefactory/main/jspController/welcome.html?locale=en_US
I have been using it to kind of organize the images that I want to put in the theme... I will be themeing a Rom when I actually start the process but I have been using it to load in the backgrounds and the icons that I want to use and seeing what looks good. Once I find what I think looks good then I move the files into a folder that I name and I make sure that the name on the theme in theme factory for quick reference so I can see what it looks like.
Theme Factory hint... if You make a theme that is good enough and submit it they will sell it in the Market!..... opps... Play Store.
Uot kitchen is the best I've come across.
Just follow the directions and play with it ,learning as you go is the best way.
Although you can't theme app icons, you can theme everything else including battery to windows and dividers, fonts, animations, status bar,etc.etc.
