I cannot remove the top clock from win 6.5.5. I tried advanced config and it does not do anything. I do not have the option in my clock settings. On my pure i have the option, but on the advantage and diamond i do not.
You SHOULD have the option in your Clock & Alarm settings.... If you don't... something is definitely wrong.

NOTE::
I know you said 6.5.5 (Com5), and I'm using 6.5 (Com2), but the settings are 100% identical.. unless edited by an OEM or Chef.

if you go to settings/personal/buttons you will get that screen.
or are you looking for the exe's that those belong to?
That list of items with < and > are preset by system, it cannot be modified.
Thanks for the replies, my previous rom had <Close> AS well as <OK/Close>, my current rom has only <OK/Close>, so I was wondering where these options were stored and if I could somehow reintroduce <Close>

I assume if I download a transparent slider.cab then it will be totally transparent? Its not like with the iPhone where I could go into the theme and increase/reduce transparency of each individual component? What about the grey bit around the selected icon in the slider? Would that be part of the transparent slider.cab? Or is that something totally different?
I cant open up a .cab file on my PC and adjust things there can I?

Guys how did I get this style lockscreen on a WM6.5 ROM, seems to only come working with WM6.5.3 ROMs.
There are a few workarounds, but I either don't like the graphics or the slider is at the top (not the slide down), plus this lockscreen also give the new message, voicemail, email, etc... icons.

Went to Privacy settings and found out there's an option to limit apps.
For example (see screenshot below).
My question is: should I even be touching this?

You can mess with it a bit in order to stop apps from running in the background, just don't touch system apps/services or you could really screw things up.

Do you have any apps installed ie food apps or any other that could give such a meddage.
Go to all apps in settings and check.
Which OS are you on?
Stock rom or any other?
and maybe tone down your language. This is not HTC customer support .
