Hi,
I don´t know how but I broke my Polaris Screen (both LCD and Touch screen).
The touch screen is the glass on which you use your stylus, and has a thin transparent foil top layer. The touch screen is broken because I can see a few cracks beneath the foil but I can't feel the cracks!
The LCD is broken because I can see blue/black oily spots and stripes.
My Polaris is almost 3 years old, so I cannot spend almost $200 for this parts replacement.
Does anyone have a bricked (or boxed) Polaris, with a screen ok, for sell, so I can replace mine?
Any other suggestion is welcome.
Thanks
Hi all,
how to do?
I saw a lot of pictures surfing the web about htc touch pro dismantling but I can't understand how to dismantle touch screen.
Is it glued on lcd?
Is there a guide?
Some1 said you cant remove the touch screen without breaking it or you have to have skills . So it is best that you get the lcd and touch screen together and replace the whole screen. I also need to change my display because of the amount of scratches, but I got the anti glare screen protector and you cant even see the scratches anymore. It still bugs me that I now that if I take the screen protector off I would want to change the screen so I leave it on until I can sell the phone. And when I get a new phone the Zagg IS is gonna be applied asap
In my past job I built many system with touch screens and touch panel was glued on the lcd panel.
Many times there weren't glue but only a biadesive film and sometimes I were able to dismantle the panel.
I don't really know if on tpro there is a biadesive film or simply glue.
I can agree with you but touch panel costs 20€ and lcd+tpanel cost 100€!!!

I found a good deal at brando for the lcd screen, but even that is too much money to repair phone.I'll just sell this one and buy smthing else.Got my eye set on Touch Diamond2
here is the link http://mobile.brando.com.hk/htc-touch-pro-replacement-lcd-display_p03799c0696d088.html
I have this phone, only used for VoIP and Dev. Galaxy Nexus.
The glass is like chipped / cracked on the top right, nothing major or problematic, about the size of the camera hole.
I was wondering if I couldn't fill that glass with transparent nail vernish or clear coat car paint, just a drop to make sure no broken glass falls or to prevent it from more cracks ... like when they repair chip on windshields ... I need something none conductive to make sure it doesn't interfer with the digitizer ...
I won't change the glass or digitizer. I would prefer this solution than putting a plastic shield.
Thanks !
So ? Is this just a really bad idea ?
hello
i replaced my touch screen on my sensation xe (alone!!)
and it works ok!
the problem is that it's not glued to the device.
if i turn it over, the toch will go out and stay connected only because of the electronic connection.
what can i do so the screen will stay stuck on it's place???
?
anyone?!?!?!?!?

Lol what about double sided 3m tape.
To be honest I have a sensation here with a cracked screen and a digitizer but I am waiting on parts and that tape.
What baffles me is why don't they sell it with the tape???? I bought a dirt cheap digitizer for cheap tablet and it came with that tape on the digitizer, no cutting or other crap .. just had the remove the paper thing and stick it on
Did anybody try replacing the glass screen on the LG G5? Not the whole digitizer, screen only.
Looks like replacement glass is found quite cheap.

There is a crack on my screen, the touchscreen is perfect. Is there a procedure somewhere that can be followed to get it done? I see a lot of videos for a complete teardown. But is it possible to just use a heatgun to take the glass off and put the new one in?
These display modules are oftenly replaced altoghether, because replacing only the glass requires it to be really precisely fitted and hermetically glued, you can probably try to seperate the digitizer from the display, but you may end up with a some dust underneath the glass or some unwanted gaps.

I had a crack on my screen at the top of when it fell down on concrete floor. I had to buy the whole display with glass and digitizer for about 130 euros. I did not know that you can just buy the glass and replace it with a lower price. Oh well... but if you want to separate the glass from the digitizer or anything what is glued, always use the heatgun. You can also use the hairdryer. I had to replace a battery by opening up a back cover with a hair dryer. For separating the glass from the digitizer you have to heat it up very often, pry it open and hold at several spots, to avoid breaking components. It s quite difficult but take it slowly.

So, if I crack my screen I need to get a screen replacement with frame or just screen replacement?
Screen replacement with frame

You can get without the frame, you will just need to heat up the glue between the frame and old screen to cut through the glue to remove the frame. They cover it on the instruction video on Fixez.
