Yea I was gona ask about that cuz I was curious on 'how' it was ported. Seems most if not all the eclair 'ports' for LE/1.2 don't have kernel level features such as tethering, or an actual GPU driver (ie; all games are slow as crap), or App2SD and so forth. Where as what I'm testing is reverse engineer'd drivers applied to a 32B rom.
And personally, it kind of makes me irk, when someone says 'I'm not sure..." to a basic question as does 3D work, you'd think you would know if you built the rom.

These were my thoughts, and you of all people should know exactly why lol.
I just noticed this "and Zinx Verituse (For the patch)"
If he's using the patch for 4.2.15.1 then the obvious answer is gona be
1) 3D is not going to work
2) Tethering is not going to work (correctly)
3) Memory mapping isn't going to be accurate since he built that one for the dounut system.
Basically its 5.0.7-TEST1 paired with an incorrect patch. The patch he released, specifically stated in the first post that it ONLY works for CM 4.2.15.1, otherwise you lose quite a bit of things and have more problems than can be accounted for.
So then this isn't a Correct Port then..

yea but if he did it as i did.. he probly used a kitchen... and in that case wifi did work...
cuz i used a kitchen to do a quick port just for me to f*ck around on my 1.2.. and everything worked except tethering....
going by how the kernel version is unavailable... this is just with the 1.2 kernel shoved in.... which is a 1.6 kernel in a 2.1 rom....
cant wait till this is at least 90% lol

gallery doesn't work at all...I think that might be because of the 3D issue...the phone just basically overheats with it and restarts...which is kind of a pain because I want to be able to set wallpapers and view my pics...
aside from that, it seems to run pretty smooth..

Question, how did you get wifi up & running cuse I'm having a similar problem with the Slide rom.
It has the fender boot.img slapped on and it knocked out wifi which was working in the original rom.

This is version 0.9999, almost ready for everyone. All that needs to be added for v1.0 will be options to enable A2SD, CompCache, and SWAP.
However, as you could guess. Because of this some things had to be removed.

and @Ace, he probably wanted it to fit on the normal spl. Not just the Haykuro spl

wow this is awsome. Ill wait for a MT3G version. Does facebook sync work also?
EDIT - He has finally fixed the memory coruption bug, so expect to see a new thread tonight for a kernel patch (ie: reverse engineered drivers, ie: this ain't no 1.6 kernel boot image hack).
Still got quite a bit more testing to do before Zinx will release the initial builds for public use. But basically using pre-5.07 from git-hub builds he built a system image, and boot image (which I had to unpack via unyaffs due to perfected SPL and I didn't wana bother with flashing an engineering SPL), and used flash_image in recovery to get the boot image updated.
At least 3 bugs have already been fixed (which will be down-ported on the 4.2.15.1 build as well when finished) but there's still an annoying pagealloc memory coruption. But least it doesn't reboot anymore, there will of course be memory leaks even though its not crashing/rebooting. So he wants to definitely get that fixed before releasing it.
What has been working thus far...
- The Nexus Style Gallery (looks absolutely sweet, and fast)
- Live Wallpapers (didn't have much to pick from to test)
- Wireless tethering (both wifi and bluetooth)
- USB Tethering
- Protected apps in market show up
- MULTITOUCH!! works
- bluetooth/wifi
- Fast 3D (tested on radiant, totemo, robo defence, retro defense, speedx 3d and nintaii)
- Swype (not included, but installed fine from an apk)
- Youtube both SD and HD
- Google Voice 0.3.2
So far app-feature wise everything appears to work (you can of course suggest some things for me to test while he tries to work out the kinks)
So right now the only problem I notice are:
- Pagealloc memory coruption (which used to cause a forced reboot, but with the debug rom, it simply leaks about 4K memory each time page fails, though this happens maybe once every couple of hours) (Example of dmesg output showing three said memory corruption errors)
aside from that I'm very impressed with the overall performance of CM5 (pre-5.07) on my fender.
What will likely happen is when he gets all the bugs fixed, he'll apply what he learned to the CM 4.2.15.1 patch he currently has (linked in my sig). The patch will likely work on CM5 when cyanogenmod crew officially releases CM5 for Magic 32B, so don't really expect it til then (he's not in the habit of releasing pre-stable roms). This is more or less a preview of things to come.

32A wouldn't be applicable for LE/1.2, since unlike Magic 32A, the LE/1.2 32A is not EBI1. Thus why the patch needs a 32B system to apply to.

Again, that's only useful for Magic 32A folks, that's not useful for LE/1.2 since its not EBI1 hardware.

As in how close it is to being up and running? I would think the 32a port is slightly ahead of this if he is accurate on the up, stable, and fully functioning, for now. If you are talking about the hardware it is a 32a board with a 32b radio and it's own SPL. Figured I'd answer both interpretations of that question
This is just a quick port I made of the mytouch 32b (not to be confused with the mytouch 32a or mytouch slide) froyo 2.2 update.
I just took the update added xbin from one of darches nightlies added our wlan.ko and buildprop. At first I just switched kernels but bluetooth didn't work (it did work good though with decad3nces bfs). So thats why I used the bootimage from darches for the most part everything works and it's really not something I really wanted to pursue but figured if I wanted to try it out someone else would. I just like it cuz it has odex files.
Just to be clear though this doesn't have sense their update didn't include it.

The mytouch 32a might get it but I kinda doubt it since they didn't have sense to begin with. Well hell, if that's the case than this is pretty sweet. I noticed it running mighty fast on mah hero that usually laggs out if not at least a smidgen when I am running AOSP. I say this might be fiah for the AOSP Froyo!
Cyanogen-Modders, what say you? A rom upgrade to the project eh? Maybe we can finally have some CM6 with a healthy dose of no slowdowns/hickups!

My phone already runs fine on CM6, no slowdowns unless I'm trying to do things while installing/updating apps. Running Deca's UncappedKernel (CFS) really helps

My phone already runs fine on CM6, no slowdowns unless I'm trying to do things while installing/updating apps. Running Deca's UncappedKernel (CFS) really helps

Yeah I personally don't have many problems with cm6 nightly. I will say that I ran decad3nces kernal in the original tmo bootimage in this rom and it flies

Don't get me wrong the glitter and glam (and brute force speed!) is better than perfect at first, but after about a day, my phone becomes unusable on cm6.. To the point that it will lock up on any given screen for 5 seconds or more. Usually more actually. So I am hoping maybe this will get me somewhere

Question!? is this rom much faster then the Hero-X-port of the Droid X (Nonsense Rom that was for the Evo)?

nope. Not here and I personally know one other person that has the same issue but I think I know what the issue is.
2.2 a2sd I don't think works very well and I believe that is the issue. I want to try dtapps2sd with it but haven't had the time.

NO because the nightlies have a different setup.
What is the point of this? CM6 is native and has no GSM limitations. The Slide is the one that will get teh Sense update, not this one.

-Format all Zip (i flash this before every install i do hasnt given me any problems might be amend scripted though)
-Modded HTC camera app (may cause issues, credit goes where credit is due)
also for posting bugs tell me the following info
-test version right now 2 is the first one, but when more come this will be important and just call them by there name (might even give them funny pepper names too depending on how saucy i feel)
-if your using FR or not and your settings for it
-exactly how to cause the problem and or what is FCing

i was hesitant on posting it because i didn't think people were going to take me seriously esp after the whole kifno gingersense fluke. but man people flocked to that thread, i was also happy to see more development going on instead of just CM7 for everything and i thank everyone who has helped along the way whether a noob or, nifiniteFX or il duce or idogxx

about an hour into running this rom I started to sign into various accounts and then I got this ... I didnt get to run fix permissions yet
this is the same and only one I had gotten on the other roms

im uploading a new test build with the apn fix tazz posted yesterday he was pretty sure that was the key, i downloaded his rom and compared the changes its uploading now, i also will be uploading a format all zip that i have been using for a while now

i thought it was 691 and capped, either way my phone cant handle higher than 691 thats why i use that one

Yeah its 691mhz, the kernel number is 589 lol. Deca numbered all his releases remember?

There were something around 30 releases IIRC. My fave was #43 uncapped.
EDIT: Hey in your OP you say GPS doesn't work, it works (haven't flashed salsa 3 yet) but the nav app itself fails on 3D, just fyi.

Kyle, I was using the #589 uncapped and it worked well. The problem would be for those phones that can't handle more than 691.
I was having some issues with mild salsa 2. I did a logcat for a problem app that won't open for some reason ( it's a skeeball game), but I realized that it was the mild salsa-jm. #2 froze up on me a couple. Well give #3 a whirl.

My guess is the app has 3D textures.
hey kyle,, here is another fix for u to try for gps,,,,, if fixed navagation screwing up for me and now i can dl maps from the market and no issue
place this file http://www.multiupload.com/7MVUEW99QM in libs folder
then replace
libdvm.so
libnativehelper.so
with the same from a working hero rom ,,, hope this helps ,, it did for me

This is an unofficial MIUI rom for our MT4GS
Based on HTC Pyramid's MIUI 2.1.20, Android 2.3.7
MIUI provides an alternative to AOSP and sense that we currently have in the forum, giving the user a new experience from his/her phone.
Keep in mind that this is a test port from Sensation, so there will be a few flaws that will need some ironing out!
I bare no responsibility, however, if a nuclear winter (or anything else) occurred after you flashed this rom.
Currently, the following features do NOT work:
Trackpad Wake (see post #2 for how to enable trackpad wake)
(Very) Flaky GPS. Might be just me though
WiFi Hotspot--Please use a 3rd party app (e.g. Barnacles)
WiFi Calling

Cam and corder both work fine. Not as nice as stock Doubleshot, no surprise.
GPS locked in five seconds while sitting inside my house at the desk. That has never happened with ANY rom I've used on this phone (or any other phone for that matter).
No keyboard is a serious problem but minus that this is a daily driver in my opinion. Very good work! I really like MIUI! SOOOOOO many theming options.
Is ICS next????

I suspect it is not kernel stuff with the cm7. Cm7 kernel is based on htcs own kernel.

That's True, TB is using parts of the CM7 Kernel. But Kornyone did admit it was a kernel issue. Idk, ima try MIUI out for a while. See how the battery is.

i cannot state this. But if i had to choose id rather suspect some libraries + htcs libaries that must be hacked for 3d/2d or something proprietary could be a reason. Kernel in itself for cm7 is rather close to the original doubleshot kernel (i mean the gingerbread kernel, not the ics), but of course i cant tell that its not a kernel thing. But as with the ics derivations we have not so bad battery life, id suspect not the kernel.

Could you test this Theory then Fix it? There seems to be 0 battery drain with your Kernel. Even with Heavy Usage I'm getting 30+ hours stock. You seem to be the only Dev making Kernels, and there good.
i dont want to derail this thread, sorry, but i just stated that i think its not the kernel, how could i fix then?
