Ok, I am using the 4.2.15.1 rom, I tryed a 2.1 rom, Didn't like it and tryed to do restore system. I had a hole bunch of issues "Like apps disappeared" and what not so I know I screwed something up. So I went to the basics and re-did everything and installed a fresh install and I have no CM Updater!!! I can't figure this out!!
Install it from market.
I did a search for cm updater, ntohing came up.
Type cyanogen.

I have CM 4.2.5. I have DarkDream 1.3.1. My icons are from M_Blend, because I flashed it to see what it looked like before DarkDream was 4.2.5 compatible. I can't get the icons to change. I have tried installing 4.2.5 over again, 4.2.4 then 4.2.5, nothing is working. The icons are stuck at M_Blend blue. I had Google Nav working fine. Then it stopped. I struggled through instructions here for hours to get it working again. Then I installed CM 4.2.5 which seems to have broken it all over again. So I installed the Navigation update (supposedly compatible with CM builds from another thread here. That reverted to me CM 4.2.4, with the stock theme, and STILL no nav. Am I the only person having these problems? *This is on my MT3G*
On my G1, Cyan won't stop rebooting. It'll load all the way up, work for an hour or so, then reboot. I've tried reflashing, I've tried flashing 4.2.4, I've tried going to a working nandroid backup, they all have the same problem. Anything I haven't already tried?

dude.. i think u need a wipe. wipe data, cache. then start flashing the rom and updates without theme. try reboot then nandroid. after backing up then u can try your themes.
See, I knew there was a reason I asked. I'll try that.
Edit: This seems to have worked. Thank you.
Ok, so my phone is a rooted Droid 2, and all my root required apps seem to be working fine. Well, I wanted to try some new roms, and most definitely backup my phone. So I start Rom manager, flash clockwork recovery, it tells me that was successful, then I try to backup current ROM, and it restarts my phone, and it loads up like nothing has changed. I go to Manage and restore current backups, and there is nothing there. If it makes a difference, the little loading swirl at the bottom is basically always there.
I'm quite confused, I thought this was a straight forward application, but it just seems not to be doing anything. Any help is appreciated.
I'm afraid I won't be much help but the exact same thing happened with my rooted Captivate. According to what I've read on CyanogenMod.com, when you flash Clockwork, it's supposed to put you in recovery. Mine didn't do that, but in ROM Manager, it lists Clockwork as my current recovery. I also tried to backup my current ROM and it did go into recovery and then rebooted and I had the same result as you. I read that you can't flash Clockwork on Froyo and if that's true, it's going to be a pain in the butt to flash back to Eclair, flash Clockwork, reflash Froyo, then try to install Cyanogen. I'm hoping someone will tell me there's either a Clockwork for Froyo or an easier way to do this.
I had same problems when first using ROM Manager. I found out eventually that the little swirls are ads loading.
After upgrading to Premium and getting rid of the ads, ROM Manager has worked fine for me.

hi all,
Ok, I'm new to this stuff.
1. used the simple root and it worked great.
2. I then flashed CM7 and it worked great except market was not on it.
3. I downloaded and flashed gapps-hdpi-20101114-signed.zip by mistake, not realizing I had to use another gapps.
4. After I flashed it, the cm7 and android setup screens kept cycling between each other.
5. I restored to clockworkmod (sp) and then deleted the gapps and tried to then flash cm7. It didn't cycle between cm7 and android setup, but the cm7 screens kept cycling and never got past that.
6. I thought perhaps it was just cm7 now, so I tried miui and it's doing the same thing. It's cycling between the gingerbread man and MIUI with the status bar and won't do anything else.
Very frustrated. what have I done and how do I fix it?
Thanks folks,
Brett
You could flash the stock ruu and start over.. or, wipe everything flash cm7 and then flash gapps.

Good Morning,
I'm not a frequent poster but I have learned here how to root, downgrade hboot, etc from you guys...thank you all. Been coming to this forum for years. That being said I own an EVO 4G rooted with hboot 0.76 and the stable release of CM7 ROM.
I looked through a few posts on installing kernels but nothing quite like my experience. I have downloaded a kernel by savagezen, on there download page, the 3rd and 4th down and installed it onto my phone. When I install it through amon ra it tells me the kernel is installed. It boots up but when I get to the home screen, most of my apps are gone and the apps on there have the green android box look to it and I cannot select them. I tried wiping cache and dalvik cache before installing. I have tried formating, restore using nandroid then install the kernal and still the same thing. Is there anyway someone can let me know if I am doing something the wrong way or maybe trying to install the wrong kernel? Any advice to a better kernel would be helpful as well.
I went to try DJLamontagneIII's [ROM][CM10.2][4.3][CyanogenMod Kangs][DJL10.2][SM-Toolchain][LINARO][2013/09/29] as I liked his Nexus 7 rom.
But now Im having nothing but headaches. I only use my phone for music and ebooks. Im having issues with both.
Problem is my nandroid backup I made was with twrp. I hadnt flashed my phone since aokp_galaxys4gmtd_unofficial_milestone-6-05.zip which was quite some time ago.
Now Im in this cursed spin as every other rom I try to install that I see mentioned TWRP, it has an aroma installer and fails saying Im on froyo and need gingerbread.
Whats the best bet to clean this up?
Try to install team acid's CM9, then the AOKP AROMA installer will allow the installation to complete.
