when the moment first came out, XDA was concentrating on htc devices, so a lot of the samsung moment users had to go elsewhere to look for help.
a few of the moment users came together and created sdx-developers.com to help out with developing and rooting the samsung moment. that's where a lot of the work has been done for the moment.

Hey guys, I am new to THRiVE development, but not new to development in general. I have a CM10 build that boots.
WiFi and External storage are not working at the moment, but overall it is functional. I'll let you know when I have more. Also, head over to thriveforums.org for more information.
Now that we have Ics will xda mess with us?

Developer driven site, not many have thrive. Toshiba Thrive Forum is place to be for now. Excellent work done over there. Easy to use and very helpful.

Hi
Samsung is starting to release Android 4.2.2 updates to some devices, and the Note II's "big brother" got it too: http://www.sammobile.com/2013/08/03...en-released-for-galaxy-note-8-0-lte-gt-n5120/
The specs are pretty similar, so I guess it's possible to port it.
Anyone wants to port it?
Sadly I have no knowledge in this

that's the Sprint version. took me a day to download and the cellular network didn't work.
There is cm available for all variants.. Just look at their original android development.
No need to port anything on your own.

Hello everyone,
I would like to start by saying I'm totally new to this world, so I ask that you hang in there with me. Ok
So I just rooted my Samsung sch-r820 (galaxy admire 4g) with metro pcs.
I want to update my software. I install clockworkmod but it seems not to be working.
I tried cyanmod but my device is unsupported. So my question is can i even update anything. Or am i stuck with gingerbread til i buy a new device.

By doing a quick Google search I couldn't find any development for this device here at XDA. So probably there won't be any CWM recovery/CyanogenMod ports for this model. Also don't try installing CWM recovery or CyanogenMod mentioned for other devices, as doing it so will brick your device.
I was wondering if I could use the Samsung admire info do you know?

Not sure what you meant by Samsung Admire Info?!
I know your device is Samsung Admire 4G, but what exactly do you want to modify in it? If you are looking for ICS ports, the chances for it will be quite less considering its not much popular device.
Yes i want ics

Samsung Admire, or Galaxy Admire ... both should be same.
Samsung Galaxy Admire has 800Mhz processor and Admire 4G has 1Ghz, so as there is a change in hardware most likely it won't work. You may need to port the ROM to Admire 4G in order for it to work.
I have no idea what port is or how to do it. Thank you for taking the time out and helping me.

Yeah, porting is something beyond the scope of what you've asked. Anyways if interested you can always have a look for Tutorials in XDA University, as there are tons of them. Good luck and have a nice day. :good:
Hi everyone, I just started this thread for all the new m8 users or other users who did not know a certain fact about the forums... You can actually go to the general HTC One M8 section and use most if not all the aosp Roms there... For example: Dirty Unicorns, CM11, AOKP, and etc... I wrote this because I know most users didn't know this I know I didn't. Just wanted to share this fun fact..
Thanks for reading!!!!

You can actually just type in m8 at the device finder and go straight to the m8 general forum but here ya go... http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/orig-development
M8 ROMs
The developers have unified many of the AOSP builds - its great because there is more development.
Ya when I first got this phone it took me awhile to realize that all that was over there.

DevHardware used to be good, but I think it's dead now. In addition to the above, you could also try OCHardware, I think it is... Sorry don't have my laptop with all my bookmarks.
Or, if you have questions, ask them here and we can see what we can come up with.
