I was wondering do we think it is or could be possible in the future to get and install the Timescape / Media Scape on Android devices other than the SE X10?
probably. but I would guess that it would come in a rom or something in that case. like the sense UI thingy..

Hey everyone, I am planning to get an xperia x10 which contains android 1.6 , so I was wondering, if android 2.0 contained better apps compared to 1.6, or if there wasnt anything major of a difference to the app store . I have never used android before, and my only reserach have been on youtube videos, where games appeared to be the same.
Get Nexus One or HTC Desire (better option) instead of x10.
You will get Android 2.1 which is way much better than 1.6 and ... multitouch

can you tell me how the music player is on the nexus one though. Ive had a htc blackstone before, and its a pain for me to go through a list of music without having a alphabet shortcut pad
My brother and me created this app launcher of Gallery for Xperia X10 with FW 2.1
It is different than this method described in

The X10 FW 2.1 hides the Gallery 3D launcher, so we use the easiest harmless way to fix this by creating an application that will launch the Gallery 3D.

Music Widget not supported by this app.
In order to properly bring up all features of Music and its Widget, you need someone with knowledge of decompile, recompile and repackaging of APK.
FYI.
What i make is not a Gallery application, nor i hack or do anything with the existing Gallery. What i post here is a standalone application that acts as a shortcut or launcher to existing Gallery application in your phone.
This app works with any Android 2.1 which have Gallery shortcut hidden by manufacturer.

You might wanna try WinAmp for your music player replacement. But i advising you not to remove/uninstall MediaScape because most of things depends on it, might cause you problem. Just leave it there, won't do any harm.
I will check to see if the phone still have the stock media player inside.
FYI:
The launcher i make is not the gallery app it self, it just a application that work as a shortcut to open Gallery, since the default app launcher is hidden by SE.

Doable, though its very limited like music. I can only make the launcher, but widget and the rest its beyond my capability currently.

If you happen to use Launcherpro, just press Add-Shortcuts-Activities-Galllery/Music from the homescreen

Hello guys I just bought this phone and I'm pretty comfortable with it.
Just updated Walkman to latest version but everytime I see the artworks on the player, it is not displaying at the correct resolution, in fact it is bad quality.
I double checked the images I have embedded with the albums and they are high resolution ones... so I dont know what to do, any suggestions?
Other thing I want to ask you is:
is there anyway to port de music player application from ICS to this phone? When I had ST21 that player displayed the correct images with the correct quality and I also found it more reduced in feature which I found lovely.
Most of the "new" feature on Walkman application I dont use and I found it kind of uncomfortable to see.
I also tried with other apps but they are ugly and dont have Sony UI style.

Not really sure what the problem is with the newer Walkman versions, but yeah this issue has been around since version 8. Maybe your embedded art is too big? I try to keep mine at around 500x500.
Did you try uninstalling the updates to your Walkman app? I think XC default Walkman is the one without the "Home" page and might be the one you need.
Although, Sony has ditched us in getting us newer Android version, but they doesn't seem to stop their support for their popular apps.
However, since we have our hero, bringing latest Android versions to our phone as fast as you can think off, those Sony Apps would be nice with Android Lollipop on our phone.
So today I share those Apps. Meanwhile Xperia Link and TrackID got materialised too.

There are no forums about new walkman , so I post to here.
I have found that the new Sony Walkman is supported by android , and the new walkman app looks pretty well ( style is like the wm1 and zx300 series) . I wanna install the new walkman app on my cellphone .
There are some problems
First of all there are no smaster audio processor on the cellphones so some of the functions won’t work on the ordinary android devices . Like vinyl processor or dsee Hx , dc phase processor. Maybe we have to disable them to ensure that the app works well.
Second , I found the functionality between zx500 and a100 is different . So there are maybe 2 versions of new walkman app. One for zx500 and another one for a100.
I double this. I'll try to get the APK tomorrow by extracting it from the firmware... then I'll install it to AOSP.
Got it? Would be interested on that and some Infos about it (Development)

It's very basic, it doesn't even let you create or modify playlists. Only "bookmarks" which cannot be backed up/exported and have limitations.
Even I have these device, and I'd rather stick to PowerAmp in general (best overall) or USB Audio Player Pro UAPP for USB DAC support and MQA.

I might be a little late but yes! Someone with one of these devices will be great.
Being it Android you can download an android app called (Super Backup & Restore) from the Google play store. This app is easy, intuitive and will extract the APK file. Then you can upload it here on XDA. I can help more if you are willing to help. I will try my best to answer any questions you have.
