Exchange can't compose - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

So I've been running the 2.1 ROM's for the past few weeks and in that time I just noticed that I am unable to compose a new message via EAS. I can forward and reply like no other, but when I try to send a new one no dice. Anyone else experiencing these issues, or am I the only one. If so this will help and I can muck around with Exchange server.
Thanks

Otherwise I saw something before about TouchDown or some app helping with that problem

It's not that its a whole different thing now. BTW that was my thread.

Oh damn it is... should've payed attention. my bad. i look like an idiot lol

Okay,
So it looks as though it's a message format issue. The message format is set to Plain Text but I need to change this in order for it to work. I'm running Fresh Rom and it appears to be grayed out. Anyone know how to adjust this without using Touchdown.
Thanks

anyone know?

I'm still attempting to resolve this, it appears it's an issue with not being able to change the message format. I download Touchdown to test this theory and it worked. Is there a way I can change this setting using adb? I really need to get this resolved, it's hard not to be able to create new emails using my device, I have to wait an hour or two until I get back to my desk.

Disable "internet pictures blocked" in mail?

is there a reg setting some where to have it download all images as soon as i open the mail, instead of blocking them and waiting for me to click "unblock?"
bump....guys anyone?
would love to know here too.
Still nothing - not here, not in the General forum either!
This is a great question - that bugs the hell out of me!
Any ideas?
I got curious and also searched. Came up with 2 other threads of with the same question and no resolution.
Maybe you could post this in the Kaiser Tweaks thread as a feature request for the XML? Some of the folks watching that thread really seem to know the registry!
Don't know an answer but
Its a Microsoft safety setting because you can put malicious code in a .jpg so they only want you to open trusted images (yeah weak I know) but its the same way with exchange server emails. Would be great to put this in kaiser tweaks but it would also be good to select all emails from a certain sender. So if I open an email from my friend there could be check a box and then from now on he is trusted and it auto does it instead of just doing in blanket style. but thats just my opinion i could be wrong

This is a feature of Exchange/Outlook 2007, but you can configure it to automatically download the pictures. Unfortunately it seems there isn't a method of doing the same for WM

yep...I'd like to know too.
Yeah, I'd like to know as well !!
I'd like to know how to download internet pictures even the second time. When I get "Internet pictures blocked" and I tap on it it then says "Download Internet pictures". When I tap on that "Internet pictures blocked" returns. I can Send/Receive and still no pictures. Frustrating.
If it matters I run my own email server on Linux and I am accessing it on the phone via IMAP.
I get this also on a standard ROM, anyone managed to suss it yet?
Very similar to the other problem I have with my Kaiser, regarding the "annoying "Internet pictures blocked" link in POutlook messaging.
FWIW, I don't know if it's a 6.1 thing or not, but it looks like if click the link the first time to emails, it'll cache the images so they'll open the next time you open that email -- but then again, who reads emails 15 times?
I was trying FlexMail, but for various reasons, not the least was my experience in asking questions on their forum which no one answered, but also the fact that when I get a Starbucks email, I'd like to be able to see the images not shrunk so much I can't read the text in the images... know what I mean? I bailed on that trial, and have used QMAIL, but it does something similar but much more comprehensive in scope... my only annoyance with QMAIL is it doesn't integrate into the messaging subsystem, oh well... so much for Voice Command telling me when I have new mail in my AutoPilot Qmail settings, but at least -- no "Internet Pictures Blocked" bull-pucky.
It seems though that maybe 6.1, as opposed to the older ROMs, is starting to show my email pictures without the nasty fuzziness! Hurray! I can see the Starbucks cup full-size, albeit I still have to tap the download images link the first time I open each email, and I have to tap the "scroll" link each time... maybe a small price to pay?
But maybe... just maybe, there's a registry king/queen out there who can pour through the registry and shed some light on these issues... maybe... I may, during some night-shift work, while I'm probably supposed to be passing medications ( ) sync up and look through the reg to see if I can see anything that might help, and putz around a bit.
HOWEVER... it'd be much easier if Microsoft just made a CAB that addressed these issues and fixed the problems, adding a few benefits on the side like trusted domains, adjustable font size, etc.
... but then again, maybe we'll run smack into another ice age by 2010, too...
Cheers,
BereanPK
Was this issue ever solved? It is soooo annoying, reading an emailm having to click you trust, having to click DL pics, having to go back, click send/recieve to DL pics. Then go look at the email. I have went from 1 tap and reading full HTML email on my iphone, to like 6 taps to get a full message on my WinMo phone.
I too am looking for a resolution to this.
Has this issue found a solution yet ?
Was hoping for an update when i saw this resurface. Hoping for something.....
still nothing! :-(
Still unsolved?
This thread has been floating around for ages now with no answer... adding "still unsolved" or "still nothing!" isn't likely to resolve it, so why do it?
C'mon people.... if you are going to post here, at least have an answer.

[Q] Mail app not parsing links

Using the HTC email app, no links are ever parsed. They just appear as standard, un-clickable text. I even tried forward/replying messages to see if they would appear as links there but they don't.
Does anyone else have this issue and/or a suggested fix? Thanks!
Are you debloated on AT&T? It seems we need HTCLinkifyDispatcher, which is removed as bloat

I am not, though I would love to be! (I am reticent to root my device, however.) I am running Apex, however, and perhaps this is related to the issue?
Thanks for the reply. Any further thoughts would be very much appreciated.
Well, apparently, I am not the only one experiencing this. Had not yet found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639865
Does anyone have any idea why links would not be recognized as such?
i was having problems until i changed the maximum receive settings to max, and things started working much better. HTML emails that did not open correctly began opening and prompting for image downloads as expected.

Thanks! I tried the "max" setting and this didn't resolve the issue.
However, our problems are different as HTML email display has never been a problem (and I am always prompted to download images)--my issue is that links do not parse in plain-text emails.
links in email are not hyperlinked
I am having the same problem. Hyperlinked words (seem) to be clickable and work fine. However, some emails I get where the address is typed out like the following (for example):
h t t p s://w w w. dropbox.c0m/el/?r=/link/65.Zf7E33Qbpe...
They look like regular text and are not highlighted, much less clickable.
Other times, I get emails with only the following in the body of the email:
"Please view the HTML of this email to see the message".
I'm going nuts because there is no HTML or anything to click on, let alone any kind of message. I've checked settings and nothing there is absolutely nothing to clue me into what might be wrong or how the situation can be resolved.

[Q] Disable message preview on gmail notifications

Hello everyone,
I have been searching my hat off for this and couldn't find someone else with the same problem as me. I don't know if this is also the correct forum to ask this (there are so many), but since I have a TF300T, I thought I'd leave this here. I hope someone can help me further with this. Any help is appreciated!
If I get a new message with Gmail, I get a notification, which is very nice! There is only 1 thing bothering me, and that is that it will display a preview of the message with the sender. It will display the sender and the subject on the bottom right corner when a new message arrives I believe and if you tap on the bottom right corner a taskbar thingie comes up with even a preview of the message. I would really love have those previews removed and the only thing I would like is a notification that I have a new message instead of all the previews. I don't know if such thing is possible, even if it's with an external application. I just love to lock my devices apps (yes my gmail is password protected) and don't want everyone to see my incoming mails when using my tablet.
Like i said before, I hope someone can get me a step further in achieving this so I can get rid of my only annoyance of Gmail for Android and any help is appreciated!
I'd also like to add that I love the TF300T! I just got it a few weeks ago and have a lot to get used to since I finally decided to upgrade from my Gingerbread device The TF300T just screams value for your money, thats why I ended up buying it in the first place

Please Standby!
Asus has released news that in March they will release a 4.2 update for the tf300. Android 4.2 includes multi-user features. At that time you can set a second user for others to use and they will only have access to what you have allowed.
4.2 is available in a couple of custom roms now but stock is on the way.
Good Luck!

It has landed! Here is a link to a download in case you don't get the update. I'm waiting for Asus to release the update on their server.
Here is the active thread on the update.

[Q] Problems with Yahoo Mail

Can anyone suggest why Yahoo Mail won't display emails on my Note 10.1 GT-N8020?
Yahoo Mail works fine on my Note GT-N7000 but on the tablet, I can only see folders. When I click on any email to read it, nothing happens. The native email app works fine.
I'm running Jelly Bean 4.1.2 on both devices.
I tried flushing the cache and uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing works.
Trevor
I'm having the same problem, Nothing seems to work to fix it.

I don't use Yahoo mail, and you didn't share a picture of what you're seeing. Going by some other badly designed apps, I wonder if there's a pullable tab/pane that you're not noticing that would bring the view out (like a sliding drawer).
Edit: I went to install it, to try and help. There's a notice that they're aware of issues when trying to view mail. They suggest clearing your cache for the app should help resolve the problem, which OP has already done. :/
Edit: I installed the app. Awesome! The message pane flashes every time you pick a new mail to view, and the loading spinner just spins. Oy.

Tips for a pleasant XDA:
Search before asking. Someone has likely already asked.
Spell your words completely, and use punctuation. It confuses people when you use "u" and "ur" and "dat", or when you wrongly use "there/their/they're/your/you're".
Be nice. Don't be rude, just move on to another post without leaving a comment. We are not 7 years old.

Thanks for the replies. Seems Yahoo has stuffed something up real good like the almost universally disliked upgrade to Neo.

Using Exchange email with Email.apk and hitting Reply All keeps adding me to the cc!

Exactly as the title says
If i email a person at my company with my phone, it goes directly to them
If they reply, it comes directly to me
If i reply - my default setting is Reply All - it adds my email to the CC
So because they emailed me, and im replying All, it adds me again!
This is fairly annoying!
Anyone else?
I don't reply often from my phone, but the one time I did, it also added me on CC. Kinda annoying.
Haha! So I'm not alone!
Try this though... Create sub folders under your inbox folder and try to use the mail widget for your inbox folder... Or, same thing with the unread email search folder. See if it ever updates after the message is marked as read, or retrieve new unread messages even...
IMO, Google really fudged the corporate mail app in kit Kat... Highly disappointing for a company with ample resources to do better.

Im getting a lot of force closes now
Same here, and there is no option that I can find to turn this off.
Very annoying.
Im getting a lot of bugs with this
lots of force closes and it seems to be draining the hell out of my battery.
Google Services is almost always the #1 on my battery usage

It never used to do it in 4.3, started in 4.4. It does it for me on my Nexus 4 now it's upgraded also.
Seriously annoying.
Someone has opened a bug here: code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=62722 - you may wish to star it in the hope it gets noticed/fixed.
