if u have the ringer saved u could prob just put it in the /system/media/alarms file
or check out mabilo ringtones from the market. once installed do a search for it. it has almost everything u would want. i found the blackberry notification ringtone in there

In Darchdroid and all 2.1 roms it is in /system/media/audio/alarms/
The file is called Alarm_rooster_02.ogg
Extract out of the .zip below. This isn't signed and doesn't have the folder nesting, I just zipped the .ogg to attach it here.

i have tried pushing Alarm_Rooster_02.ogg to the alarms file but does not show up. I think maybe because all the other alarms are mp3 and i will check the market thanks cbarlan

Here it is as an .mp3 if you want to push it to a 2.1 ROM.

dcV1 zip for lock screen

Could someone point me to or make a .zip file that will give me that crazykewl lockscreen....the one with unlock to the left and silent mode to the right. Purrrrdy please?
Running dcV1
Im not against sexual favors, as im broke.
No need, just delete htclockscreen.apk and .odex,reboot,good.can use adb or use root explorer, the files are in system/app.check the dc1 custom files thread and homescreen thread towards the last couple pages, few other people have requested this, but its simple to do
Just my 2 cents...
I didn't delete them I just abbed .bak to the ends in case I want to revert back.
Also, FYI, When you rm the lockscreen you lose the ability to turn your alarm off. Agimax posted an older android alarm clock in the DC ROM thread, I'm not sure what post but with the default #posts/page it's on page 243.

Not near a computer, nor will i be for a while. Im scared to screw with r.e. and im not sure of the name of the lockscreen to have searched for it in the dc custom files thread. An update.zip would be amazing :- )
Ill start sifting thru dc custom files tho :-(
Got root explorer. How do i push the files without messing up my alarm?
Btw, real tip, thanks for the r.e. suggestion. Ive been meaning to download terminal and remove some bloatware, but i just multiselected everything i didnt want and poof!
One more quick thing...which apk is desk clock? Is it intertwined within world clock?
sinister,
If I'm understanding you correctly I think you're missing something. It took me 30 minutes of searching before I realized the super cool lockscreen you're after is ALREADY IN THIS BUILD. Removing or renaming htclockscreen.apk and htclockscreen.dex gets the lockscreen you don't want out of the way so that the one you do want can do it's job . You don't have to push anything to the phone to get the cool lockscreen, just remove those two files. BUT that's when you need an alarm alternative because the lockscreen you want disables the ability to turn off the 2.1 alarm. The alarm Agimax posted is a perfect workaround for this.
Good luck!

Um, that's just the default Android lockscreen, isn't it? That description sounds exactly like what comes up when I fire up the sdk version of 2.1 in the emulator.
Is there anyway to add a wall paper picture after removing the htclockscreen.apk and odex files ... I have the default lockscreen, just that it is clear
Thanks in advance

Aw 2.1 I still haven't pulled the trigger, Fresh 1.1 FAIL
I removed the htclockscreen.apk and odex files, rebooted and still have the same lockscreen, what am I missing?
I have been searching but I do not see the htclockscreen.codex I'm running darch 4.1 I removed the .apk but the lock screen is not aligned right and doesn't show the slide options. Please help!
rm /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk
rm /system/app/HtcLockScreen.dex
This worked like a charm for me.
If this doesn't do it for you guys then I'm sorry I can't help, this is where my expertise comes to a screeching halt.

I put the sounds in /sdcard/media/ in the folders that they come in, meaning that keep "notifications" in the "notifications" folder etc. I didn't try the wallpapers, but those don't need to go anywhere special anyway
Thanks.....

New Google music app

http://www.droid-life.com/2011/04/05/download-new-android-music-play-3-0-336/
Can anyone add lockscreen controls to this apk? Would be sweet. Works great otherwise.
I second this request, The new music 3.0 is amazing on my INC, very fast, no lag and the sound is louder. The dealbreaker was the lack of lockscreen capabilities.
If the guys at cyanogenmod can add album art to their lockscreen music app I'm sure somebody can cook up an apk with lockscreen functionality for this one
Lockscreen controls work fine on CM7 RC4! xD
would pay someone to get basic lock screen controls on this. Is it possible to use the lock screen from the stock player and add it to the new one?
Also when receiving a call the music completely stops and doesn't resume after the call is ended. You have to go back into the app to start the music again. The stock player stops the music, receives the call and once the call is ended the music starts again.
You guys do anything special to make this work? Keeps FCing whenever I launch it.
Running CM7 RC4
Thanks!

Lockscreen controls work on omfgb

Is there any way to filter out ringtones/notification sounds either by file size or folder exclusion? Ringtones getting shuffled in with the music kinda sucks.

Don't have that issue on CM7 RC2, what I always do is make a folder called "ringtones" on my sd card and then put all notifications/ringtones in it. All the system provided ringtones/notifications won't show up by default, it's only the ones you add.

I changed the extensions to .ogg and it doesnt recognize them. Thats the ringtones I created that were previously .mp3.

I'll give it a shot, thanks.
I'm running SkyRaider 3.5 (4.0 soon) and am very interested in downloading that new music player. What stops me is the absence of locksreen controls (according to some posts here).
Does anyone have a solution for that?

Ringtones showing up in Google music!

This is driving me crazy. Does anyone know how to get rid of the ringtones from Google music without deleting the files from my phone?? Thanks

In my experience, Android always ignored the Ringtones and Notifications folders as music. Maybe you just need to refresh Google Music. Go into the setting and try syncing it

if you have root, move them to /system/media/
Create a empty file with name ".nomedia" in the same folder as ringtones. It will be not shown in play music

no no.. dont just stick them into /system/media/, put them in the right category(ringtones, notifications, alarms..) within /system/media/.

To be more specific, its system/media/audio/notifications and system/media/audio/ringtones. And if you put them in there, I believe they NEED to be .ogg files. Change the permissions to match the others in those folders and reboot.
That is the ticket. Change the permissions.

I just go into play music and select "not interested" on the ringtones, and it takes them right out.
