Using dsixda's rom kitchen and with some trial and error with a few other roms I ran into some luck with Vega Legend Port v0.9.1.
What doesn't work:
Bluetooth (I need someone with some experience to help with that if you don't mind)
Anything else that we might discover
What this does have:
It should have everything that the original rom has
WIFI works
Multitouch browser
Anything else that we might discover
Requirements
A rooted MyTouch 1.2 device (duh!)
SDCARD with fat/swap/ext3 partition (not sure if 2 or 4 works... haven't tested. Let me know)
A complete wipe (dalvik-cache, data, ext partiton)
Note: I did get a message stating that there is a system update available. Be very careful not to accept this. In fact... I'm thinking about pulling this because I don't want anyone to blame me for messing up their device. Speaking of which...

Enjoy!

I'm gonna try installing this ROM without an ext partition, since 512mb ROM should be more than enough for me.
Ok, so after it booted for the first time, it's showing 192mb free space internal memory.
I think this is my favorite of the day.
Damn smooth. Damn fast.
reboots on me occasionally but still ok I think
I'm running this Rom right now and its insanely fast! thanks a lot for the port
Had to uninstall.
While plugged in usb I had no problems at all. After 5 minutes of running while not plugged in, rebooted several times, and completely powered down.

If they made any kernel adjustments then it can't be fixed until we either:
Get driver patches
Get the fender source
Because this is the Fender kernel built into the rom and not the original kernel.
if you were to flash another boot.img it may fix the problem... but you would not have touchscreen. But I foresee something good happening sometime really soon in a form of a patch. In theory and to my understanding, this will allow full use of any 32B rom. It'll be a simple flash of the 32B rom then a flash of the patch. This should fix the headphone and touchscreen issues. It's currently in development if I'm not mistaken. Be patient.
Yes, I know HTC hasn't released the kernel source for the mytouch 1.2 yet. I'm patiently waiting for that to happen so we can get better ROMs.
Is anyone having this problem, my batery life gets draind to like 15% from 100% in an hour like using this rom i tried lowering the brightness turning of wifi and everything else i could do but it still kills my battery
BTW: this rom is excellent

My battery's at 80% and I've been using it for about 7 hours, with wifi on, brightness at 50%, browsing the web for a few mins.
This rom is extremely fast even with no partition. Screen transition is amazing and nearly every feature works.
Only drawback for me is no market. Was is it available on the original rom?

you realize no partitions is faster than an ext2/3/4 partition correct? i javent tested anything without a swap partition so i couldnt put any input on that but ky phone flies with only a swap partition, honestly an ext partition is hghly unnecssary for any mytouch imo

Its been many builds since I got great battery life... With live wallpaper, script number 9 mega ram, savage zen 2.2, no hepatic feedback, all notifications occur same time of day, bright to less then 40,. No juice defender but I do use auto wifi...
Heavy use as you can see..!
What about wifi. Is that really fixed.?
Cause I've downloaded it the other night. But haven't flashed because. The last two updates was working right for me I couldn't get super user to work. Or flash it and the wifi still kept dropping had to turn it off and back on. Every few mins.

What does that mean? In ClockWork:
- "apply update from sd card"
OR
- usual ROM flash without "wipe data/factory reset"

Compatibility Changes
~ Changed build.prop and assert scripts to match our phone
~ Swapped RILs with RILs from CM7
~ Fixed sdcards mounting
~ Fixed Wifi
~ Fixed GPS
~ Fixed FFC picture orientation
~ Added WiFi Calling
~ Internal sdcard mapped to /mnt/sdcard/_InternalSD
~ Removed Warez contained in original build
~ Probably more that I'm forgetting. This took a lot of time and effort to get working on the G2x.

As far as the rom, I love the themes of MIUI but between all the data/wifi problems I just couldn't rock with it. It's the only rom I've flashed where I've had problems with data or running apps (games mostly)... There are so many people on XDA using MIUI it makes me wonder if my problem is isolated or is everyone simply taking a hit in order to use a nice theme?
I'll probably give it a shot in the future but I'm perfectly fine with Weapon for now as everything works 100%

Do you still get a data connection though (even if you don't use it). My experience (and other Wind users) is Whitehawkx MIUI, data will only work on T-Mobile. You not using data kind explains why it works for you.
No wifi calling, still says invalid sim.
Flashlight/torch app force closes
Stock keyboard super laggy
Etc etc all the same issues it's had since the beginning.

What kernal are you using? What baseband are you on? Because I am still having problems with WiFi and Data on T-Mobile. I am on the latest Faux Kernal and on the July 15 baseband.
I wanted to thank the developers of MR3 in this thread. Liquid, Jester, etc.
I'm a long time lurker of this forum since I got my Thunderbolt. I'm VERY VERY appreciative of the developers for creating a very functional ICS rom for the Thunderbolt. Shame on HTC and Verizon for sandbagging so long with what should be a very simple upgrade for them. I was running Thundershed for awhile but grew tired of the Gingerbread look and feel of Android. My friends all mostly have newer phones with ICS, and I couldn't believe that it was supposed to be out in August and it's now mid-October and it's still not out.
To my surprise, I log on to here and see that an ICS ROM had been released.
My only issues with this ROM are random restarts and the white screen error in Facebook/Gmail/etc. I don't really use the video camera much in general; could you use an aftermarket app, or is it broken period?
Otherwise, I absolutely LOVE this and will never go back to Verizon's bloated software. Even when an OTA is released with ICS I won't go back. My phone is running much faster and much better than with Sense and Gingerbread. With data off I had a 10% decrease in battery in 7 hours; with data on and normal use I'll get maybe 5 hours out of a charge on this ROM. About normal for this phone and it's absolutely terrible battery life with the stock battery.
I have it overclocked to 1.5ghz running interactiveX as my governor. It runs beautifully, other than those two minor issues I pointed out above. I haven't experienced any data drops or anything out of the sort like that.

I second this thread.
A major thanks goes out to all of you who develop, in any way, for the Thunderbolt community. This even includes testers.
To answer your questions...
The video and front camera are broken even with an aftermarket app and will remain broken, most likely, until Verizon releases the OTA. From the OTA, our awesome developers will then be able to fix camera issues and many other issues that will make their ROM's 100% stable.
Also, if you get random reboots, you may want to flash to a different radio.
If you are currently running the OTA radios from the 2.11.605.19 software and still get these reboots, try flashing the combo radio and hopefully the reboots will vanish or, at least, happen less often.
If you go to your settings, about phone, software information, more, and look at the baseband version...
If the numbers you see are:
1.49.00.0406w_1, 0.01.79.0331w_1
Then you are on the OTA 2.11.605.19 radios, which is my recommendation for the radios to use with this ROM. If these are the radio numbers you see, try the combo radio. If the numbers you see under your phones baseband version is not:
1.49.00.0406w_1, 0.01.79.0331w_1
Then it may be:
1.48.00.0930w_3, 0.01.78.0916w_3
If it is:
1.48.00.0930w_3, 0.01.78.0916w_3
Try flashing the 2.11.605.19 OTA radios found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605557
If you have the 2.11.605.19 radios, though, try flashing the combo radio found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1864157
If you aren't sure how to flash a radio, here's a video tutorial for you to follow:

Definitely want to ditto this thread. Thanks for continuing to support the Thunderbolt. I was on the verge of retiring the Thunderbolt. ICS has brought new the Tbolt new life though!
thanks for the links. I'm going to try upgrading tonight and see if that helps. I notice you flash the radio in hboot. If I do a nandroid backup, does it also backup the radio (so I can restore it)? Or if I **** up, will it be permanently bricked?
Ditto to all that has been said. Thank You to all who made this happen, including HTC and Verizon. Their inaction drove me to decide to root and find alternatives. I've been incredibly pleased with MR3.
Thanks all!

If you backup that ROM after flashing the radio, it will back up the ROM. Hboot is a whole different thing than the recovery. That radio is downloaded to the phone and will automatically run on any ROM after its downloaded, even if you start from scratch. But flashing any of those two radios will not brick you on any ROM. Worst case being you won't have signal or data until you flash different radios again.
Say if you upgraded to the newer radios, and then you flash a ROM based on an older software version, you won't brick. In fact, you may not ever experience any issues. Maybe just signal changes or random signal drops.
But no, it won't brick you. It's almost impossible to brick a Thunderbolt.
I recommend after flashing the new radios, immediately go and either change the name from PG05IMG to something custom, move into a different folder that's off of the root of the SD card, or just delete it once flashed.
This is for in a such case where you need to get back into recovery from hboot, it won't prompt you to install the radio again. Because if you had to get into recovery from hboot, it wouldn't allow you to since it runs a check for the PG05IMG files first... and with that being said... I was always told to never flash the same radio twice without changing to a new one first.

i dont' see why these ROMs get so much acclaim... when i tried LiquidSmooth it wouldn't stay connected to the Internet. tried to toggle wifi and 3G/4G. nothing works and i have to reboot the phone every time i want to use the Internet.
Liquid MR3: the setup crashed and now the ROM won't even come all the way up...
unless my phone's broken or something (going to Verizon tomorrow to reflash and check it), i say they're both absolute garbage. i've had much better luck with ROMs on other phones.

ah i see what happened now.
the first time i flashed it, i cleared /data after the flash before i brought the OS up, but you've included the launcher as a user app and not a system app. was this intentional? a user could easily screw up by uninstalling the launcher and have no way to interact with the OS. shouldn't there be a default launcher embedded in the system programs?
i'm an Android dev, but my understanding of system development is limited, but if i'm not mistaken, any Android ROM should come with a default launcher that is not uninstallable and has no icon as a backup launcher just in case.
He did install it that way so if the user wants to install their own launcher and remove the default. Its simple to make the new one a system app. All that has to be done is move the apk to /system and it is uninstallable.

Regarding Twistedumbrella 4.04 Rom found here:
I've never donated to a developer (shame on me) but I just did for this one. I really want to keep my Thunderbolt going cause I'm off contract and have an unlimited data plan. Like some are reporting, the most recent builds of this ROM gave me a boot loop and I can't run them, but anyone considering trying this rom I encourage you to try the 12/06 edition at the link below. This 12/06 installed for me and ran just fine, and I am SO pleased at the increased speed AND battery life that I perceive I am getting. This ROM is not loaded with the HTC sense overhead, and things seem much snappier all around. I was about to ditch my Thunderbolt because things had slowed to molasses using the original BAMF 4.04 rom, but this one is working great!
Here's the link (copied from the thread linked above)
THANK YOU TWISTEDUMBRELLA

What 4ext recovery version are you using? I'm using rc8 and all his builds boot fine. Hall is using rc5 and doesn't get them either. I'm just curious if the rc9 version of the recovery has a bug that is causing the boot loops.

As mentioned in the Dev section thread, the bootloops coincide with a certain version of hardware of the Tbolt. Specifically, those with a TBolt with a model number ending with an "A" are affected by the bootloops. It doesn't have anything to do with the recovery software.
Bingo. I pulled my battery to check the serial number and yes indeed, mine ends "A." But like is also mentioned above, my 12/06 rom is running VERY well, so I'm completely happy where I am.
But thanks for pointing this out -- that saves me a lot of time from being tempted to play with the recovery software or partitions or anything else.

That still doesn't take away from the fact that the recovery could be causing the problem. It's possible that whatever is different with the hardware could have an affect on the recovery as well.

Good point, nonetheless it seems there may be a work around of restoring just the boot data from a earlier (12/06) version of the rom will make the newer ones work while sacrificing the camera (it stops working).
Update: (don't want to keep adding off-topic posts) The work around worked for me without any problems (camera worked) when going from 12/06 to 12/19. Also the new 12/28 update doesn't bootloop for me.
But for a majority of tbolt usrs if u got a p/n ending with an "A", "B" and you experience any issues i.e. bootloops I caution you to stay away from ics for now until something stable comes out if it ever will. Lol!
For those with p/n "C", "XC" etc happy flashing. Seems these experience random reboots at some point but do not have major issues as the ones above.
Just thot I'd put this out there for those going thro bootloops and its driving them nuts!

I cannot believe anyone actually used the BAMF ICS rom for more than 5 mins. that rom is full of so much wack. Never had any bootloops with any of Twisted builds and ive tried pretty much all of them since day one. TWRP...
a bit of info on this particular bootloop for those not following the thread:
-flashing a previous working boot partition from recovery seems to get you past the loop (e.g. flash new rom, restore boot from 12/06 backup)
-alternatively, the 12/28 version on page 28 of the thread works with no loop on my particular hardware. i think twisted is still working on a final build though, which could potentially return to bootlooping if he hasn't isolated the problem.

HA! I deserved that, vice versa. I know enough to be dangerous to myself most of the time but that's about it. The BAMF rom looked so much prettier I stayed with it but it ended up a nightmare, as you suggest. I'm now almost on my 24th hour of the 12/06 rom and no spontaneous resets at all, MUCH better batter life, MUCH snappier in general, and I am MUCH happier with my thunderbolt! Presumably there's things that need to be improved past 12/06, but I'm not so much of a power user (obviously) even to have found them.

I've never had boot loops with any of twisted's releases. I did however had the occasional random reboot. I'd go to answer a phone call and this sucker would just reboot on me for no reason.

The only time I heard of that was when people used the leaked radios or the combination radio made from the leak and .19 radio.

Hey guys I have run into a problem I would appreciate any comments on -- I've been all over the internet reading about the failure of Google Maps/Navigation to read street names in Andriod 404 without finding anything that helps me. I already had Ivona voice installed, and I even installed SVOX to see if that what help, but the app refuses to use anything but the standard voice, and it never gives street names, just "turn right, turn left" etc.
I've done all the clear data and cache suggestions and that isn't helping.
Does anyone know if a fix was developed that I can apply using this 12/6 ROM? other than that this rom is working great for me, and I suspect the problem isn't in the rom itself. I'd even gladly download an older version of the MAP apk if I could find it - I don't use the advanced MAP features at all.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Wireless tether has to be setup using the Google nexus one profile. Routing fix checked and wake lock checked.

Really, I been only getting the random reboots, however I am on the leaked ICS radio.
Maybe I should switch back to the stock .19 radio.... Unless the new HTC ICS radio comes out soon with this update.
Does anyone know where the radio forum went too?

OK, I've got one that's been bugging me. I have a LOT of apps installed and if I have moved a number of the larger ones to the SD Card (to free up /data), once I get to greater than 1GB in android_secure, my phone fails to boot completely and just locks up. It's not the SD Card (32GB Class 10) that has errors (scanned with both Windows and 4Ext), just seems to be too much for the OS to handle.
I'm still running ShiftHackedA05P 2.8 (CM 2.7.3) from days gone by. Suggestions welcome. Thanks.
Edit: And I use Autostarts (Advanced mode) to turn off receivers for apps that I don't want to load, and LBE to disable permissions.
You might try using a Rom that has ext4 support since it supports larger file sizes.

Thank you for the reply, expert one
The folder has ~87 files of sizes 3MB to 40MB, which causes the lockup after booting at random times (sometimes it makes it further and ultimately boots, after MANY battery pulls). Once the folder is pared down to a lesser total size, the phone boots more rapidly and doesn't lock up; seems to be a linear relationship between how many files and the total time to boot until the CPU usage drops.
It might also be that most apps are moving away from app to sd since it isn't used as much anymore.

New issue, perhaps?, I am noticing that when LTE/CDMA mode my connection is showing as LTE only where it used to use ehrpd for transport and thereby still keeping 3g radio enabled. Normally no big deal but at times I am unable to send/receive texts or make/receive phone calls. Has Verizon stopped using this middle transport for LTE? I am unsure why I am always showing LTE only and if this is causing a problem. Switching to CDMA (auto prl) is the only remedy that I have found. Any thoughts?

Not really a problem but I noticed a thread that mentioned A LOT of older devices getting a port of KitKat...any chance that could happen with this old relic? Other HTC phone with some sort of working KitKat are: Sensation, Desire HD, Vivid, Raider, Evo, Amaze and Incredible S...or at least that is what this site claims.
Oh, sorry, I'm new here so I can't post the link.
Santod was working on a KK ROM but since he has newer devices as many of us old bolt users do he puts it on the back burner because the demand for it just isn't there anymore. Be patient and maybe eventually you will see one. Or you won't....

You should probably find an HP slate forum to post that issue in.

I just saw where Droid Incredible 2 has a fully functioning CM 10.1 rom. Just wondering if that could be possible for us since DINC 2 has same processor, same resolution, same manufacturer, same everything except 4G. I'd love to have CM10.1 if it meant sacrificing 4G (or even all data).
I'm new to all this, but if you think a port is possible or maybe some other way to get this on our device I will give it 100% effort.
If it can't be done then crush my dreams now and I will somehow learn to live without my TB.
Thanks.
Porting the dinc2 ROM breaks data for the bolt since the bolt has an svdo radio setup. I have ported from it before and I either had calling with no data or just data. I'm not saying it couldn't be done but it is out of my area of expertise. Go to infectedrom. com and there is a cm10.2 build made by Santod that has working WiFi. Since data doesn't seem to be an issue for you.

Thanks.
I'm awefully attached to my TB and I still think it is a great device.
I really enjoy all of santod's roms, but the PacMan one just doesn't perform well on my phone.
Thank again.

Yeah none of the newer stuff will perform well honestly. It is just to much for the old bolt to handle.

New to xda so can't post in the original thread, but I need info on the thunderbolt tool. I have used it before with great results, now trying to root my other TB and old vesion won't update and new download won't unzip (reads no files when extracting).
if anyone has any ideas i could use the help. I want to upgrade my other TB to the ICS rom that santod posted but i am dependent on its wifi tether and want to have a backup device if any problems a cure (doubtful, as the instructions seem strait forward).
Thanks

It could be closed for any number of reasons. Cjen isn't a developer by any stretch of imagination. He's the same guy that kanged CM, and liquidsmooth code in the past in roms he called "liquidsmooth remastered", etc. He basically kangs roms, adds and removes apps, then rereleases them himself as though he built them, all without providing the source that would show no commits made by him. The irony is, liquidsmooth 3.2, CM7.2, And thundershed actually worked perfectly for the most part, his so called rom doesn't... If you're interested in gingerbread AOSP roms for the bolt, i'd stick with thundershed and liquidsmooth. At least workshed's and team liquid are real developers and their roms worked...

No matter what ROM I put on my phone, sense 6, 7, AOSP 5.1 every rom I use my phone is extremely slow and unreliable. I'm not sure what I can do at this point and am wondering if the hardware is worn out, or I have corrupt files. I've wiped everything in twrp many times and still get a phone that can not even handle navigation without freezing or not working. Anyone else have terrible performance regardless of the rom?
Have you updated your firmware?

When was your last ruu? Doctor says to keep the bits clean you gotta ruu!
And depending on use you may want to run fs trim. Like this one

To be honest.. I've only noticed this on ART file system. I just stick it out and restart my phone every so often and usually fixes it.
I even tested once Dalvik vs ART. I dont have any numbers to back up my theory, but as soon as i change back to dalvik, its night and day difference and doesnt slow down.
Unfortunately not sure if 5.x.x can use Dalvik

Hah, I actually did this last night before checking this thread. I figured that was the only real option that would make my phone the same as new. So far running well, a lot better than before. I notice redraws and slowdowns only when navigating in my car with bluetooth and charging.. music streaming as well. Maybe it's a little much for the phone.
Clearing the internal memory definitely helped out, I'll try the trim eventually too.
Thanks for making the RUU
