I just did Verizon's MR1 upgrade for my Touch Pro 2, which gave me WM6.5 and it works great. BUT...when I go into the options for sounds and notifications, and try changing the notifications for "new text message," the checkbox and settings for the blinking light are grayed out and I'm unable to change it.
I want the light to blink longer than 5 minutes....but they won't let me change it...does anybody know a fix for this?
I figured out how to change the settings in the registry. But, if anyone knows of any programs that will make it a little easier, let me know! Thanks!

I have doen a search, but so far I haven't found a thread that covers this particular problem. When I get a new sms, I get the lights, the noise, the vibration and the on screen message, but that dissapears after a few seconds.
Is there any way of keeping that message on screen until I dissmis it? I have checked Adavnced config and there isn't a setting in there, and I don't really want to use another app as I like the way TF3D does it, I just wish the message could stay up for an indetermainate amount of time
does anyone has an answer?I'm having the same problem...
I don't believe thats possible....
I don't use TF3D and I see a "Notification" left softkey on todayscreen. It's enough for me. I tap the sofybutton and the message appears again. I don't know, what TF3D is doing.
there is no reg edit for this?? maybe this can be implemented in a rom upgrade...however i do like the bubble notification
I'm having the same problem. I suspect it is the way that TF3D takes over the soft-keys. So when the notification comes on, TF3D recaptures it after a few seconds.
I looked in Advanced Config and also TF3D Config and couldn't find any settings that would restore the original behavior.
Hey guys I know you probably know where stuff in the registry is that I would never be able to find but what I'm trying to do is stop the notifications I get both the icon in the start bar and the bubble notification, for my new mail coming from outlook exchange 07 and text messages both receiving and being sent. I know I saw other options for notifications you can turn off, so I'm wondering if anyone know how to do this. I mean why are they even there TF3D shows you what you have haha.
You can toggle turning all these notifications on or off using Schaps advanced config. Download it from here
Really? sweet I just installed this to do those TF3D performance tweaks so I guess I just need to go looking deeper to find them, scary haha.
I just looked through everything and it seems all in order, like when it says show icon for some stuff its labeled as no, so I guess I'm missing something because I still get notifications/icons for when i have new/unread mail
Two things you can try:
1. Go to Start-->settings-->Personal-->Sounds & Notifications-->Notifications
Messaging: New E-mail Message & uncheck Display Message on screen.
2. Try this registry key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailabl e = 0
To enable again
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailabl e = 1
I think this should disable all sms notifications.
Give it a shot.
Found this too. I think this should just about hit the nail on the head for you.

I'm not sure if this is a setting or a byproduct of TF3D, but I can't stand the way that alerts work.
If I have a reminder for an upcoming appointment, the notification toast doesn't appear at the bottom like it did with my Mogul and other WM devices. The chime goes off and the alert icon appears on the menu bar, so I hit that, I get the menu bar selection screen and then if I hit the alarm bell, the toast displays at the bottom.
I'm running the default Sprint ROM for now, with some of the basic tweaks. This (and the inability to use a 4-pin headset) are my only real remaining beefs.
Is there a config or tweak I can do, is this just the way it is?

I have a ATT fuze so I dont know how much of difference the set up is...Did you look in system, sounds and notifications then notifications then scroll to reminders and make sure display message on screen is checked...What else have you installed that could be interferring?
Slawcops hint did the trick here.
After upgrading to the newest HTC official (dutch) ROM, TF3D was always in front of such system messages.
By going into the setting menu, sounds and notifications, notifications tab
then selecting "Reminders" (I guess thats what's it called in the english version) in the dropdown box and enabling the "show message in screen" my problem was solved.
Hope this helps!
edit: It would seem this action is needed every time after a soft-reset...if anyone knows where and if this value is stored in the registry, I would really like to know.
Does anyone else experience a situation where when you click on the task bar you always get the "notifications" page popping up? Both my hubby and I have that problem. You try and check your battery and "notifications" pops up. I have made some small changes to my unit, but my husband hasn't, so we want to know if it's an issue with the phone for anyone else who has the Sprint version.
Thanks
It is by design. On the Touch Pro, you could turn that function off in the TouchFLO settings, but that option does not appear on the TP2. Maybe someone can find a registry setting or knows if it is in one of the config tools.
Anyone notice that a hangouts message doesn't trigger the notification light at the bottom of the phone? Tried a normal message and SMS and neither made the light blink. Anyone else notice this or know what setting I have to change to enable it?

Figured it out, it started working after I enabled the hangouts option in gmail instead of the classic chat.
