Ever since yesterday afternoon I have not been able to download anything from the market. I keep getting a "Download Unsuccessful" message. At first I thought it was the Rom that I just flashed at that moment, so I restored my back-up. Nothing. Then I thought it could be the recovery image that I just flashed, (don't see how it could be, still nothing.
Then I realized that I was not able to send or receive any messages using gtalk, which leads me to think that this has something to do with Google themselves. I was wondering if anyone was experiencing the same issues.
I am experiencing the same problem. I have been searching for a solution on the web but dont' seem to fine anything.
Does anyone know what can be done?

Sometimes when I recieve texts the pop-up comes and goes away before I can read it. Then when I open up the application and goto the conversation view, the text I just received isn't there. It's been happening quite frequently now and is getting really annoying. I think mostly happens when I'm already doing something on the phone and I get a text.
I did some Googling and I found that people were reporting this in September with the version of Handcent then, but there wasn't any fix mentioned and I can't seem to find anymore information.
I'm running the latest version of Handcent on Fresh 1.1 with the Gumbo Kernel. Any ideas?
nevermind googled further and found a solution. will see if it work.

I've had this happen, also.. I think the last handcent update said something about fixing this, but It obviously didn't fix the problem...
I had that problem too, but for only one contact for some odd reason. So whenever that person sent a text, it wouldn't show up other than in the pop up box, but once I closed it, hte message was gone. I uninstalled and then reinstalled and haven't had the problem since. It's been a week.
Well, I've searched and searched and Googled and Googled but it seems that this error persists for me.
I downloaded the MySpace mobile app from Marketplace and found that when I try to login, it provides me the error message, "Unable to contact server. Application will now close." This has been pestering me for weeks now. I have tried digging through the phone's internet settings, proxy, registry; everything looking for something. It's time I break down and ask.
Any insight on this issue would be well appreciated.

I had this happening all of the sudden as well. It has worked all the time. Though like a week ago it suddenly decided it doesn't work anymore and I see the same error. I already tried re-installing but no luck. Unfortunately all other apps are working (Marketplace, google maps, email, opera, motweets etc.)
Yes, it seems very odd. I am wondering why there seems to be no real solution. I have found many questions about it but no one seems to know why it happened.
Same situation here and still no solution found.
Its a large problem.
There are complaints all over the Internet about this. It has been going on for a while now. Even bigger problem is that once you install it, and it doesn't work, there is no way to uninstall it.
The Mypace application doesn't work anymore. It has to do something with their server, and I doubt there is ever going to be a fix..it has been like this since 3 months
So I got this problem with twitter. I try to login but it tells me to try again another time. I tried now for 3 days with wifi/3G but I get the same message. I tried removing the app and installing again but nothing seems to work.
Anyone else had this problem and was able to fix it?
PS. Rest of the apps like whatsapp and gmail/youtube work perfectly fine.
same as here! anyone can help
So I flash to the CyanogenMod 7.1. I went to back stock before I did. Now I cant download anything at all. I keep getting "insufficent space on the device" no matter what app I try to install. Whats happening?
Also, when I start typing to search for an app, what shows up in the "drop down suggestion box" is 'java.lang.NullPointerExpception' Why?
Something else I am noticing is that every time I reboot my phone, it starts up like its starting up for the first time. Asking for my Google account info, forgetting my wifi access point, resetting the wallpaper/widgets, etc. Is it a bad flash??
EDIT: After a /system format, clear all caches, and re-flash things seem ok now...

I had the same problem, and the same solution. I have no idea why, since I had been using 7.1 for several weeks with no problems before the market issue developed. In any case, a reflash/cache clear solved it.
Since we're on the discussion of market and cyanogenmod, anyone know how to fix the market so it shows all apps? I've been pulling my hair out trying ot figure this one out for the last 24 hours. I changed my build prop ro.product.model to "SAMSUNG-SGH-I897" From just saying "SGH-I897", someone said that would work, and guess what? It didn't. I have no idea how to get terminal commands to work either, I did it by downloading an app called rom toolbox from the market.
When I got the phone (before rooting, etc.), my sister tried to send me a picture and I never recieved it. I kind of shrugged it off as a network error.
I use Go SMS instead of the stock SMS app anyway. Every now and then, I'd get a message saying "Messaging has stopped." but it never bothered me.
Since then, I rooted and installed the CM10 preview on the phone (amazing piece of work, might I add :highfive
I had issues reciving (and sending) pictures then, but I recall specifically reading there was issues with that.
After restoring to stock, the Messenger app wouldn't even load, and force closed every single time. It forced me to use a third party texting, but since I regularly use Go SMS, not a biggie for me. But no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the messaging app to ... well work.
Also, as before, I still cannot recieve a picture. No clue why. Makes no sense for me. Sounds like a software issue, but after multiple restores / formats, I'm really not sure.
A friend of mine also had the same issue. I'm posting to see if anyone's come accross this before, AND possible solutions.
Thanks for your input guys! :good:

Just noticed someone posting something similar about this. No one has anything to report on this topic?
