Duttys Task Manager - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Not sure if this is the right thread, apologies if not....
O/S: 5.2.21869
Manilla version
ROM: 1.72.841.0
Im running the HTC HD2, and have just installed cookies Home tab software (awesome)... However ive noticed there is no task bar (i currently have the taskbar on a quicklink, which works ok), but have heard you can add it to the top right hand side of the screen.
I tried installing Duttys Task Manager, but it caused mega problems namely with CPROG.EXE.
I had to Hard reset my device, as it wouldnt load HTC Sense...aaarrrggghhhh..
What i really wanted to know guys is, is there a cab file that will allow me to put the task manager on the top of the screen tab..?? And would it remove the X key that is currently there...?
Thanx in advance guys.
Mark

the cab would still be dutty task manager i have that installed along with CHT and never had any problems could conflict with other apps you have installed cant upload cab apologises.

@greg1fraser,
Thanx for quick reply fella... Yeah thought so... Not sure why my HD2 crashed really... I too have the CHT installed and running ok with no problems... not sure whether to try again...

yeah try install again if not there are many roms which have both those apps caooked into the rom making it v fast i suggest check out clean ex dse v3 nice rom,

I have CHT and DTM both running on my HD2 with no issues. worked on ROM 1.48 and is working on ROM1.72 now.
If it helps, I installed DTM and then CHT.

Thanx for your help guys, yeah just had to re-install the task manager cab file, and it now seems to be running ok...
Not sure why the first attempt didnt work, but all good now...
Thanx again
Mark

whatever it was that caused problems, it was most likely fixed by the hard reset.

HTC's Phonepad......Jammin

Hi guys
Ive recently got my jammin and have found that without installing the extended rom the device speed is alot better.
Bu theres 1 prog in the extended rom that i use alot which is the phonepad ...Ive found the cab located in the rom but the problem is the cab also install the voice app / pdf viewer and java app.
Is there a cab available thatll just install the phonepad and nothing else?
Thanks
if you post the cab we can easily extract the parts you don't want, or you can do it yourself with WinCE Cab Manager
Ok brilliant ive attahced the cab
Thanks alot
This cab doesn't install the voice cab or anything like it.
It makes 4 shortlinks and addssome values to the register, that's all it does.
so it just installs the phonepad...is there anyway of deleting all the etxra links .etc .etc and just it installing the phonepad ?
No it doesn't install the phonepad, in fact it doesn't install any software at all, this cab.
However you can delete the shortlinks, located here; /windows/start menu/
But remember you still don't uninstall/delete the actual software.
Ah , ok ....so do you know the phone pad (touchpad thng for texts .etc .etc) ....Not smartdialing program...Is this actually located on the rom itseld or does it install from the extended rom.
As i thought it was installed form the extended rom but now this as got me thinking its hard encoded in the rom itself?
Is this rite on HTC devices?
Thanks
The touchpad itself is included in the rom, however I've seen you can enable/disable some of those input pads with some registry settings.
Unafortunatly I don't know what settings and if it can be done on all htc devices.
On my wizard it's enabled by default.
ok ,Thanks for the help / info

{To Fix} Another Lite Beta Rom based on Helmi_C aku 0.70

I have just finished a quick lite rom based on Helmi_ C AKU 0.70 rom which I find very stable even for a beta.
Everything Remains the Same apart from what I took out the rom which as follows:
1. Htc audio manager
2. HTC HOME Plugin
3. Office Mobile
4. OneNote Mobile
5. BT_FTP=1_2_30490_1
6. JbedJava_MIDP=0_0_20070726_1_1
7. HTC task manager
8. Voice Speed dial
9. WindowsLive
Rom is working fast with only one bug which i'm trying to fix which is:
After Flashing the rom and after configuration and reset the rom wont boot. But if you reset it before CONFIGURATION the rom works ok as normal. very strange.
I will try to fix it but I have got all the configuration cabs which can be install manual. These files are:
1. Configure_COMgr175.CAB
2. Configure_DDI171.CAB
3. Configure_GPS.CAB
4. Configure_Key.CAB
5. Configure_WLAN.CAB
6. WiFicountrycode.CAB
Total storage memory is 133.16 mb and free program is 74.15 mb
Cabs can be found in my thread which is located here.

helmi_c done a great job with the rom I didnt have to do nothing with it might strip it down further for who love ultr lite roms but not losing any stability of course
There is more work to be done on this rom
I realise there is more work to be done on this ROM. First I forgot and allowed the configuration to go on. So I had to reflash (forgot HR would do) and prevent installation of the configuration. I then installed the cabs posted, but device refused to boot after soft-reset
So I am back on Helmi's ROM.
Dutty, you must have removed the power icon in settings as I could not find it to see how much longer I could go on trying to revive my device without running out of power

same here I must have deleted something in the rom I also found huge battery drain my highly suspicions are one of the activation cabs is causing this.
Sorry guys my first rom didnt made it as yet will pull it down as i think its not stable.
Cheers
My apologies
I have taken down the rom found a huge battery drain in rom.
Well, I installed it and everything went okay. Installed the extra cabs and looked good. I wanted to try WisBar instead of the start menu app I'd been using before so installed their latest versions. Whoops that made a total mess of things, locked up at the end of install and still was locking up after soft resets. So had to hard reset and start all over again. I've not used this app before, so not sure if it was the ROM causing the problem or not.

Ah, okay, yeah I've continued to have problems with it, keeps locking up on me when doing a soft reset. So guess it wasn't wisbar that was the problem. I'll go back to the standard HTC Rom for now.
to moderators
Can you please close this thread as lite rom has been made by helmi so thus all support should be in that forum. thanks

Go to Kaiser section; Dutty stickied thread; download SdkCerts, install it then try again
Works perfectly for me except when i press Email or SMS/MMS. It just wont open anything.
It brings the top task bar above the cube and that is it.
Any ideas?
you need to change the parameter service in the settings to NULL like the others.thats what worked for me
That worked a treat, thanks for that.
Is there any way to make it go to the email folder or to the SMS folder dependant on which one you press. It just takes me to the last messaging folder viewed. I would really like it to open a blank SMS for me.
Go to the SCLFP 1-60 thread by Slither & doante to get his Beta 7. It rocks & is customizable. It rocks.

Sorry but I cant seem to get it work. All I get is 2 programs of settings in my program directory..
Cube won't save changes
Thanks all for the info. Ran the linked cab. I was able to get the cube installed and it is functioning well, including gestures.
However, when i run the cube settings i first get a "cannot read settings - is HTCTouchFLO installed? then it goes to the settings, lets me change them, but they don't save. Give me a "could not save settings - is htc homeplug installed? system.nullreference.exception"
sorry for the newbie question, i wanted to try some of the tools before i jump to a new rom. (still with stock TILT)
thanks in advance for helping me overcome my ignorance.
p.s. already went through the "'Touch Settings' Program (Updated) - Change your cube programs AND weather location." for touch settings, same problem
thanks for all of your hard work...this is working great on my tilt...but i cant seem to get the sms and email link to work...any suggestions...thanks in advanced...

Issues building a rom, just a few questions.

So i started building this rom for my AT&T Tilt a few days ago and i have run into a few issues i was wondering if anyone else has encounterd them and knows a fix. Ive been doing alot of searching and googleing and haven't found alot of answers.
1st i started out using alex's 3.03 winmo 6.1 htc rom. I had issues with the camera not working with radio 1.65 so i flashed to radio 1.64. But i was still having a problem with the device not doing a soft reset unless i physically push the button. So i searched around and my findings lead me to believe there is no fix for this so i need to use version 3.02. Then i went and got version 3.02 and when i rebuilt the rom everything seemed fine but there is no links to the hardware buttons in the settings applet for buttons. Is this a common issue i cant find anything about this anywhere??!
2nd when building packages sometimes they dont work... Ive built a few packages and they all turn out fine Ive run into some problems with the shortcuts but editing the initflash by hand fixes it everytime. Some packages ive made though just dont work, they install fine but when i run the app i get a component missing error, the weird thing is the cabs i used to intall these packages have no issues what so ever, an example would be frNotepad 1.2 if anyone has ever tried to turn that into a package.
Last question i have is how do you set up a defualt theme I noticed the htc theme package in alexs oem packs sets its self up as the defualt theme i looked through it did a search on cusTSK didnt find much info. So i tried to rename my theme to htc.tsk and just replace the theme file in the htc theme package but that just screwed the whole theme up.

Look for the file 47d2a96e-f0dd-40e1-8f5b-a8cdc083a165.rgu and in it is the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys. This contains which application the hardware button will launch when pressed.
For the reset issue, 3.03 ROM have some problems. Upgrade to a more newer ROM. I created my own LITE ROM Folder similar to Alex. You can check my post at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399733. It is based on 3.28 official ROM.

When building packages, double check the initflashfiles.txt to make sure the shortcuts are correct. For the component missing error, CAB and ROM Packages is not entire identical. In CAB, you can create the shortcuts without the need for the included LNK in the packages and initflashfiles.txt, but for ROM Packages, you need both files. So basically if the CAB works, it doesn't mean the ROM Package will also work.

how to Uninstall Touchflo 2D on Touch 3G

Hello guys.
I really apologize if this is been asked before but I searched everywhere and couldnt find any answer so im refering in a new topic.
I own a HTC Jade and want to install pointui on it so I have to remove Manilla 2D first but how? Is there any sort of "removing" tool which I can use?
Thanks for the answers!
If M2D came with your rom then you can't remove it.
If you installed it as a .cab then it should be to the Add/Remove programs.
If you just want to install PointUI go to Start-Personal-Today-Items & uncheck Manilla. Press ok & you have just disable M2D. Now you can install PointUI .-
Thanks for the reply! Unfortunalty manilla came with my rom I just looked for an option to remove manilla and get some more space.

Uncheck Touch Flo, just so there is no confusion. if it is built into the rom, it takes up less space.
you can obviously look for a rom without M2D and install pointui on it to have more free space.
nah... I dont want to flash my rom. I bet I will get in trouble with my warranty one day
