I love HTC's Ringtone Trimmer, but it's hard to use if your try to get a specific part of a song. I know I could always get ringdroid, but I notice my friends having problems with it as well. I wonder if there's any way to add a feature to zoom in to make it easier to trim.

Does anyone know how to get the aspect-ratio button described in this pocketnow story --
http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=6541
-- to appear when watching videos with the player that comes up via HTC album? My impression was that the album/fullscreenplayer updates in recent ROMs should do it, but from the few I tried (ROMeOS, Proven), that didn't seem to be the case.
The closest I've ever gotten myself was installing the Blackstone version of the FullScreen Player, then toying around with the skin file to try to get the whole interface on the VGA screen (since it was built for the WVGA of the Blackstone). I got the button visible, but it didn't seem to do anything -- I'm not sure if further skin tweaking might have fixed it.
Anyone have any luck with this?
I am a musician and I came from an EVO. As part of my practice regimen I have used certain programs to record myself to help refine my performances. For some reason many or all of the recording apps that are available on the market place don't work. I am not sure if it is has something to do with the samsung audio drivers; but frequently, audio is distorted or drops out in the middle, levels can't be set or apps record nothing at all. My EVO didn't have this problem...what gives?
Does anyone have any insight into this problem?
I have Used
Hertz
BMS recorder Lite
Rehearsal Assistant
Droid Recorder
Pocket DJ lite
Make a video instead. Do the apps that you are trying to use have specific features you're looking for?
Like many of you, I upgraded from the Samsung Vibrant to the G2X. One of the things I really miss with the Vibrant is the detail to colors in the address book and phone navigation menu's. There is a lot of talk about Gingervread on this phone and I was just wondering of someone can tell me what we can expect from this update?
- Better Exchange Client?
- Better Calendar Client ?
- Better Contacts Client?
- More options for adding different accounts?
- Better performance?
Thanks
Max
It's mostly backend things and some slight UI modifications. The change from Froyo to Gingerbread was more noticeable on my GTab than it was on my phone.

Supports for NFC (High Frequency High Speech Data Transfer in short range)
Support for WebM/VP8 video playback, and AAC audio encoding
New audio effects such as reverb, equalization, headphone virtualization, and bass boost
Improved Copy and Paste functionality
Redesigned Multi Touch Software Keyboard
Audio, graphical, and input enhancements for game developers
New sensors support (i.e gyroscope)

I recommend downloading Go Contacts as your contact/phone manager and, if you like Facebook Photos as your contacts, use SyncMyPix. At least thats been my favorite one so far, in large part because it's a knock off of the one on my HTC Incredible. I know everybody has their own preferences though.
Alas it's Android, hop on the market and customize the thing how you like it.

Great Reply - Thank you so much
I have installed the following free apps and they have made a very nice change to the phone:
Angry Birds (all versions) can't live without them
Business Calendar ( great calendar replacement)
Amazon app Store (for those free paid apps)
Go Contacts (great phone and contacts upgrade)
handsent SMS ( Nice text messaging replacement)
Ringdroid for customizing / making new ringtones
Wallpapers ( nice wallpapers
Zedge (nice rings and alerts)
I also installed the SPB Shell - I thought it was expensive but its pretty darn cool and this phone has the horsepower to run it well.
Are there any apps that will record the audio while you write? Im thinking as a student, you can write notes and record the prof. Or if your marking a doc up, and you want to highlight something and you can describe it as you write?
I have tried
Snote - records audio, but not as you draw, its just an attached audio clip
Lecture notes, even bought the audio plugin, it doesnt do this because you see the whole page as it draws, not the drawing as you write. (incidentally I know the developer frequents this site, just wanted to say this is what I thought the extra audio plugin did... oh well)
Photo Desk (from the samsung app store) - oddly enough this one has come the closest. It records your drawing. And if after you record the drawing, you record the audio, you can then play the drawing and the audio at the same time. Only problem is you cant record while you draw.
Are there Any paid or free apps that do this?
This requires root, but I love it. It will work on exynos processors, but not tegra
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ms.screencast
It offers timelapse, real time, audio, resolution controls, etc.

Yes, it's an add-on app that you run from inside LectureNotes.
