Short and sweet, cant upload to YouTube. I have a video that's 97 megs and it fails every time. I am on wifi....stumped.
you need to keep retrying and itll eventually upload. or you can just upload from a computer which is much quicker and easier.

Thanks. Is this a problem with android overall or the captivate? I came across some droid x post complaining about vids over 100 megs.

This problem is really bugging me too. From what I have read the YouTube app uploader isn't very good and the uploads are something smaller than 720p once they are on YouTube. There is an app by pixelpipe?? that can supposedly keep the upload in 720p but there's something on the EULA about them owning the content and you have to give them your password.
From what I understand about the upload failures (on wifi) it seems to be a twofold problem. YouTube has updated their site twice in recent months which may be creating compatibility problems with the app. Also the youtube's compression and distribution system seems to be in a state of chaos in general.
I haven't seen anything that comes out and says any of this but its what I've been able to piece together.
I'm planning to shoot some vids this weekend so I'll keep looking and post if i find anything out

Well that blows! I wonder if samsung is aware of the problem and working on it. I hate not being able to upload in HD to YouTube.
Probably has to do with the lack of HSUPA
oh, you did say WiFi... never mind

Yeah but you have to agree to them owning the content which total BS.
you stole my thread
I just took a 40mb 720p video and have been trying to upload it for maybe 30 min now. It keeps stopping after moving a few % and says will "...retry after 1 minute..." But it only does another few % then stops again.
Terrible. Kinda destroys the whole flow of personal media. I read here that its an app/youtube problem so I hope they update it
WORK AROUND!
So uploading to Qik works very smoothly and fast. So use Qik to upload to Youtube/Facebook!
Basically go to a computer and link your Qik account with Youtube/Facebook. Then log out of the android app and log back in. Now, go to the video you want to upload and hit the upload button. Wait for it to finish upload. NOW hit the Youtube/Facebook button! Tada!! It will send the video to youtube/facebook after its done processing.
Hurrah!! I haven't tried it over 3G but suspect that its not limited. Also currently uploading so I will let everyone know if its HD or not.
Edit: Never mind, not HD :-(

Samsung really needs to fix these things. I mean the gps issue, connecting to enterprise wifi, exchange issues, and YouTube uploads on wifi. Do we have to wait till Froyo for these fixes?

the youtube thing isnt really a samsung issue. ive read that its a problem with all android phones. its the actual youtube app and servers that cause it.
The night before I took off for home I had them all. I was looking through my albums on the plane only to find that 90% of my pictures were gone. Where could they have gone? Were they some how deleted?
wow, that sucks! have you looked for them in your file explorer? maybe they're still there, but not showing up in your gallery

I remember that happening to me too in the beginning. Now I just make sure all my foto's are instantly uploaded to a cloud. I've never figured out
where the pictures go to but it's a strange phenomenon.
I'm not sure why it happened, but if you had Google+ installed and allowed Instant Upload, you can access Google+ from a computer and all your pictures should be there in your Instant Upload folder.
I did have that set up. About 5 pictures were saved.

Dropbox also has Camera uploads. They will instantly upload to your Dropbox folder. Just get the app and set it up...easy!

hello everyone, it's some month my instant upload is not workin ... i don't think it's rom related cause i wiped everything a lot of time in this period ... anyone has any suggestion to solve this problem ? it's not really important cause i use dropbox too but i'd like to solve it... right now i'm on rascarlo 1|11 and trinity. the sync of course is active, it recognise me all the picasa album on the gallery and i alos installed google+ activating instant upload there too but didn't worked ...
Use dropbox or 4shared .they have that feature .

thanks for the seggestion but like i said i already use dropbox so it is not a big problem, just a little one i'd like to solve ...
Well if sync is on and it is on in G+ then my suggestion is try another ROM. If it still is an issue then flash factory to see if that solves it.

On my Galaxy S3 and S4, whenever I took a picture, it would immediately upload it to Dropbox using the camera upload feature in Dropbox.
I have the same settings on my Nexus 5, but it only seems to work when I open the Dropbox app. It does not happen automatically after I take a picture. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but it still seems to have the same issue.
Is this a Nexus 5 or Samsung thing or is something not working here? Can anyone else confirm that they are or are not having this issue?
Thanks!
I am having similar issues. Seems the app is not auto uploading immediately or at all.

Probably. KitKat can be a little aggressive with the memory management.
Can anyone say whether or not this was working properly on the Nexus 4? That would help determine if it's a Samsung thing or a Kit Kat thing.
Thanks for the responses so far! If I can get some more info I'll try contacting the dev.

Dont know how it would be a samsung thing. They are both made by LG, but I did not have any issues with my nexus 4 uploading automatically. It was on 4.2 and 4.3, I never used it on 4.4.
My last two phones were the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4. I had instant camera upload on them so I am not sure if Dropbox is supposed to work the same on Nexus devices or if Samsung/Touchwiz has something else going on that helps it.
A good example is Facebook sync. It works on Touchwiz but not on the Nexus 5.
If the Nexus 4 never had instant camera upload I guess I can't expect it on the Nexus 5. I'm hoping that's not the case.

Dropbox camera sync works fine without me opening the app. I switched from a note 2. On the note2 the upload was almost instant.... On the n5 there is a few minutes delay on the sync.

I just double check my setting again. The auto upload is on, set to Wi-Fi and data. The only difference I saw was. It limit me to 2.5 mb or smaller; you have to go and change it to all photos.

Thanks - I checked my settings again as well. I have tried Wifi only and Wifi + Data, with no change. The size limit only shows when you set it to Wifi + Data and the only options I see are "Under 25 MB" and "All Files". The phone doesn't take any photos near 25 MB size so that should never be a problem.
I am noticing this exact issue on my Nexus 5. I'm glad I caught it before I started deleting videos off my device. I record videos of my kids every day (using that 1 Second Everyday app) and I rely on Dropbox to upload the videos automatically. I delete videos just assuming the are on dropbox. \
Hoping for a fix...
Used to work on my nexus 4 but that was on 4.3

Today's Dropbox update did not help.
I installed it, ran Dropbox, then closed it and took a picture. 45 minutes later and it's still not uploaded to Dropbox.

Odd. I have not noticed any issues. I just snapped a pic in my office and the picture immediately appeared in my Camera Uploads folder on my computer. My settings are Wifi or Data and files under 25 Mb.

So after I installed the Dropbox update yesterday, I ran the app and then tested...same thing...no camera upload.
Today it seems to be working properly. Perhaps it needed a reboot to reset the background services? There was a SuperSU update later yesterday that I rebooted for...
Can you guys test again, after installing the Dropbox update and rebooting, and see if it's working for you now?
Thanks
DropBox is uploading pictures I take almost immediatley. No problems here
It seems to upload fine after a reboot, but after a while the background auto-uploading stops and only resumes after launching the app...

Yeah that seems to be the exact same thing I'm finding.
After a reboot it works fine...then a few hours later, nothing, until you open the app.
Dropbox upload is working fine for me, but I use Google + photos for backing up my photos and videos. Seems better for me.

Things that you can do:
1- Clear Data + Clear Cache + Force Stop (All can be done from App Info) then Restart app and see if it works.
2- Uninstall then install Dropbox again (reinstalling)
3- Clear Cache & Dalbvik Cache from the recovery
4- Flash a custom kernel(Franco Kernel)
5-Wait for an update from Dropbox (maybe a bug)

Same here bro.. Cant find a solution.
Thats strange cause mine works pretty good with no crashes but i have sm-j700p not the f... it would be good to email the dev and ask through there.. give as much information about your phone and whats happening when its crashing.. devs like to see the problem first hand so if you can download a screen recorder and record you running the app until it crashes so the dev can see it that would be very helpful. Due to gmails file size restriction of what size files you can send it would be great to make the video and upload it to youtube as a private video and share the link with the dev by posting the youtube videos link in the email..
Can't relate with your issue
I have j700f also and insta is working just fine
