I've got an external sd card with fourteen gigabytes free but cannot make apps install to it.
Is there a way on stock rooted uk gb rom to do so as if not I can't install any more apps. Seems kind of stupid of lg to not allow it so any help appreciated.

I think you misunderstood me. I can move apps to sd no problem, the problem I'm having is lg sends apps to internal sd not the actual external sd card. As a result my actual sd card doesn't get used as it should for apps.

Like erasing old app data and such? Htc has a built it one for that.
But also since Android is basically Linux, it should support compressed filesystem. If the kernel has it, perhaps there is a way to mount the sdcard in a special manner that will allow auto compression. But that is likelly to cause some performance issues...
I do not fully understand the scenario. Could you please provide some more details?

do you mean to transfer apps in internal memory?
if yes then you can do it from settings>manage applications(or something like that)
but if you mean to transfer data then use any file manager ,go to settings and check the option for mount internal memory as writable
(personally i am using es file explorer)
I was meaning transfer zip files, apps, etc from my sd card to another app to free up space on my SD card.Does anyone know of a app in the market that I could use to transfer zips, apps, etc to for I can free up some space on my SD card. Thanks

You can transfer your data to your computer to store it and free up space, but as for an application, I'm not aware of one that will free SD card space. Best wishes
Hey guys, I was wondering if there was an option or method to having everything that is installed on my phone be installed to the external sd card? My internal fills up too quick. Thanks in advance!

I've got this 64GB sd card that I've had problems with.
Can anyone recommend an app that will analyze it and check to see if it's fraudulent?
What's the best filesystem for an sd card anyways? Fat32? More info the better!
Thanks.

you can check it using (ChkFlsh) it's a tiny applicaton runs on windows that will check the card by filling it and read it so you would know if its okay
regarding the file system i think you can only go with fat 32 , as exfat and ntfs are not recognizable by all roms
why cant I save downloads to my external sd card? I use dolphin, thanks all

Are you rooted? With android 4.4.2 it took away the ability to write to the sd card. If your rooted you can download the app sd fix to fix the or go to this thread for more information http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715657
