While trying to get Web and MMS on my metro flashed TP2 I accidently changed the MSID, which I later realized i wasn't supposed to do. Anyways I can't get internet without it and i've tried doing a hard reset, flashing back to stock ROM and of course i've googled it but couldn't find it. Is there anyway to restore the EPST to default? Or does anyone know the default sprint MSID? Any help is appreciated.
EDIT: I'm currently running on the Affliction ROM.
There is no Default MSID, you need your MSID for your phone, you'd need to call sprint and get it from them.

Well, I tried to root it using the latest rc33 one... but now I have no service, so I can't even get passed the google register screen...
what do I do?
what version are you running now?
rc33, the update went fine. But now I'm stuck at google registration
Did you update the radio as well? I would also try pulling the sim card and then put it back in. Sounds stupid but has worked for me on other phones.
is there any way i can unroot it? maybe that would work?
sorry but im not very savvy when it comes to all these things.
no service? or no edge connection? Maybe you can try by editing the APN.
On the google registration screen, press "menu" on your phone and then tap "APN Settings". You can modify an existing one or you can add a custom APN.
try reflashing the RC30 firmware and see if that fixes it. if it does, then try for the RC33 one again. Mine messed up first time and a simple wipe and reflash seemed to sort it out.
As you were asked before you need to install the radio as well.
after i flashed is say NO Service so i tried prl update it says radio offline
is any possible way to erase all data on epst to factory default.
Any Help appreciated

what exactly did you flsh on the phonne
here isthe details
mighty rom 6.5 with sense 2.5
with radio: 1.96.0 ESN
can i pm you with what i was up to
Are you on Sprint or Verizon..?? You should try to hard reset and see if that works first, if not, flash back to stock, hard reset, than flash MightyROM and hard reset again... Seems like a pain in the ass but sometimes that's just what it takes... Some might say use Task29 but I've not used it so I can't recommend it, only can offer what I've done to fix problems and have always been successful with doing so..
u could even try to flash energy roms
i am trying task 29
by the way this is a telus device
it still does not work
please help
try stock rom or enery roms
Hi,
I have a Google Nexus S phone with Sprint. I was playing with QPST and CDMA workshop and for some reason the SMS messaging and data aren't working anymore. Phone calling does work well though.
Unfortunately, I didn't save the settings for my phone before using CDMA workshop. I called sprint but they were not able to help.
Please help! :\
I'd try full factory wipe, wipe cache, wipe dalvik. Then I'd flash whatever rom I was using before and keep my fingers crossed when I reboot that everything is fixed. Then I'd keep my fingers out of the software you were futzing around with so it doesn't happen again. I'm not trying to be a smartass, I'm saying what I'd try.

None of the things you've suggested affect the Radio (qpst/epst) settings.
Get a flashable zip of the latest OTA update, unzip it, and fastboot flash the radio.img. Either that or, if you're on the stock rom, dial *#*#72786#*#*, enter your MSL, and clear the settings (it factory resets/re-activates your phone's radio without wiping any data.)
You probably messed with the NV settings..
Flash back to stock
Go into setting and do a system update so sprint can reconfigure your setting ota

Bradart, I had the stock ROM, I dialed that number and now I can't even make/receive phone calls.
lilgrass71, yes I was testing something with NV items. I had a friend telling me his settings (but unfortunately he's on Verizon). I tried them on my phone and now I can't even connect to sprint network! it keeps searching for network and never finds anything. With this I can't even connect to sprint and update my profile or do anything! :\
Is there anything I can do to restore EVERYTHING (NV items, etc) to factory setting? the power-volume thing and privacy->restore-to-factory settings aren't working...
I'd greatly appreciate your help!
You have to go back to stock.... I mean stock stock by running the exe from Samsung
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13663567&postcount=13
Then you can update profile one the phone is set up... But that's only of you didn't mess with any meid or pesn settings in qpst and qxdm.... That'll be illegal Tsk tsk....haha

Thanks, lilgrass! this restored back EVERYTHING!
Glad to be of assistance... If you don't mind me asking, what did you want to achieve with qpst and qxdm?

Is there a method/software that can backup carrier info? Buddy of mine wants to upgrade to 4.4.2 but he is flashed to Selectel Wireless and that would wipe out his carrier info and have to dish out another $50 to get reflashed again. Was hoping there was a way to backup that info... install 4.4.2 and then reload the info.
No?
define carrier info. Do you mean his IMEI and baseband version?

Hate to sound stupid, but whatever info you might lose doing an upgrade or even a Factory Reset. He did a reset a couple days after having his phone flashed from Verizon to Selectel and his phone wasn't working right. Was making calls but they were showing up as another number and ended up having to pay the guy that originally flashed it... another $50 to reflash and fix it. Thought there be some method to save this info. I can only imagine there must be a way, as there must be people into messing with roms who have to go through this process each time.
Free can of beer for the correct answer.
Maybe an NVbackup in terminal might do the trick. I don't know. If you figure it out let me know. I'm thinking about flashing another rom and seeing what happens. When I originally had a guy flash selectel I had to be on a TW rom. After this I restored a nandroid of nameless and still had service although in both cases my new number never showed up in about phone / status. I was told to use 8sms to change my phone number in there and then it would show up. On my first flash before I was told about the 8sms trick, I went home and was unable to do anything, no service. I went back flashed TW in his office. Did the 8 sms trick, then restored the same namless nandroid. All is well. Knock on wood. Last night I wanted to wipe data cache and instead of doing it in CWM or actually phil's touch, I did it in the phone settings and it wiped my friggin internal sd partition. What a freaking bummer. Luckily there was nothing super important on there I keep most important stuff on my external SD. I might try tonight to flash a TW just to see if my signal gets a bit better but I'm going to try to figure out how to backup my settings first. The second time there, the owner did the reflash and told me about the 8sms. He was clueless about flashing different roms. There's got to be a way to backup all the needed information in an AOSP rom, or an app, I just gotta figure out how. If you figure this out let me know
Thanks and good luck
My buddies kid go a hold of my phone and somehow set all my APN setting back to default. Now I only have cdma that works. Im still using the stock rooted NE5 rom. Does anyone know how I can restore or re input the settings? Any help would be much appreciated.
Well, after a lot of searching I finally found the fix. For anyone else that might have this happen heres a zip to flash.
