Hi, I need a notes application that saves editable text files to the SD card. Then I can open it on my computer, edit it, save it, and then open it on my phone again with the changes.
All the notes apps I have tried so far only backup to the SD card and I haven't been able to edit them once it's there.
Thanks
try "evernote" ?

Hello!
When I install app's I see that a folder is created on the SD card.
Is there a way that app's will install and create folders in a specific folder?
So that my SD card won't look like a mess?
Thats impossible better way is to monitor the dates and time of install of an app then check it to your file explorer so you will know which app created a folder.

OK thanks!
Some apps allow you to choose the path for the sd folder. Check the app settings to see if this is configurable.
I tried to delete folder but its coming back.I formatted SD card changed customrom but folder appearing back
so what to do plz help

make it hidden
How do you make it hidden?
Using XDA Premium (GT-N7000)
make the folder's name begin with (.) like .data .private
Ok so sorry to jump in on this thread, so the program using the folder will still find it?. And how would you unhide it again from the phone?
Using XDA Premium (GT-N7000)
No, if you put . , then the program would make it again...
Some folders you just cannot delete...only way would be to uninstall the app, and then delete...
Also, folders like DCIM, .android_secure, cannot be deleted...
Don't worry, these folders hardly take up space...
Typed on a small touchscreen
So does not really hide a folder unless its not being used. Not that usefull really.

I wanted to start this thread because I am having trouble, (and I assume other noobs are as well), understanding what's on my SD Card and how to navigate through it.
I've attached what I see when I open my device and check the internal storage.
My main reasoning for trying to understand all that's on my SD Card is because it's important! And because I'm trying to figure out where all my apps are stored. I recently installed the venom custom ROM, and since then have lost the knowledge of where my .apk files are stored. That's really what I'm after trying to find those files. I've searched every folder but still no dice. I used Titanium Pro to backup all my files but there is nothing located in the Titanium folder.
Can anybody help me identify where my .apk files are located?
I also have a few .apk files I wish to install on my phone. From what I've gathered the way to do this is to add them to where the other .apk files are located and then Fix Permissions. If I cannot locate my .apk files is there another file path I could save it to?
Lastly I have these two files I have not recognized before, BUGSENSE and .profig
What are these files?
So if you're downloading the apks off a website they'll be in the downloads folder if you downloaded then through Google play..they won't be on your sd unless you manually backed up them up through titanium

Right okay, so if I choose to back them up onto the SD card then my .apk file paths should appear? Because as you can see now I have no app folders on my phone (sd card) currently.
I've backed up my phone via titanium still nothing in there is an .apk file.
I'm also interested in keeping my phone clean of useless things (another reason for this thread).
As file explorer. Settings allow up to root allow root. Go up from sd card. System/data folder

If you go to titanium backup location on sd card and open it you will find what you looking for. Its pretty easy to restore backup in titanium app itself.....also a true backup should be done in twrp recovery as it backs up everything (file partitions, kernel, radio, apps) it will save a copy (known as a nandriod backup) on your sd card that you can recover if your rom won't boot or you just need to restore .

Make sure you enable writing to the root folder as well. System apps are in system/app.
I am going to un route my phone and then root it again. My favorite reminder app Astrid is no longer supported and is no longer in the market however I still use it all the time. I don't like the other applications.
I use titanium back up. I am assuming that I can pull the application off of my phone and put it on my desktop and then transfer it back to my phone and install it. Is that correct? What file should I look for? Do I need multiple files? I copy and pasted the Astrid folder from my phone to my desktop so I could transfer it back to my phone and still have all of my information when I restored however I don't think that folder has the actual application in it.

Its as simple as opening titanium backup, going to backup/restore, scrolling to the app you want which in this case is Astrid, tap the app and press backup! You don't need to move the file off the phone as long as you're not wiping the internal SD which 95% of the time isn't necessary. Hope I helped!

Thanks for your response, however I will be wiping the phone completely.

You can set the location of Titanium Backup to an easy to remember folder. After finishing the backup you can transfer the files to your PC, and then to your new phone.
In case you have an external SD card you can set it to backup there. Then you can just insert your SD in the new phone to recover.

Samsung galaxy nexus, so no sd card. Which file am I looking for in titanium? And do I want to restore that file necessarily? I might be putting it on an SG3 and I wouldn't want to include and system info and I'm not sure exactly what that backed up file includes.
Is there an .sdk that I should look for?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
You can use titanium backup or backup system apps using es file explorer backup
Maybe I'm not being clear. What would the filename be called and where would I find it? I installed root browser but there is no search function. I'm assuming it's Astrid.sdk

How do I transfer my contacs from my phone to my wifes new phone. She also has an Android phone.
It is very easy first go to contacts then press the menu betton and select the export/import option. Now select export to sd card, select the contacts u want to export.then just click ok.a .vcf file will be created to ur sd card.now send that file to ur wifes phone using bluetooth.in ur wifes phone open that file all the contacts will be imported.
It will work...
