After speaking to a few university friends (none that know how to develop software for windows mobile). We were all interested in an application similar to the UK Rail Departures app, but for the Cityrail network in Sydney. I was curious whether there is a current application for this rail network.
I understand it may be difficult, but I'm willing to make a donation towards a developed application.

yeah.... i can use an app like that
it'll be handy. instead of using 131500.info
"Sydney Transit" Tm
There is an iPhone (gag) app already developed.
While not port-able it would serve as an excellent template.
Just a thought??!!
Davej
wow... i never thought someone would suggest that!
I'd definitely find great use out of something like that too!
Although, since when do sydney's trains run according to their timetable?
+1 here. That would be very handy!

Greetings,
Being an avid WinMo user, imagine my surprise when I opened up a new Ipod Touch on Christmas morning. The wife thought I'd be into it, what can I say? Anyway, the only thing I have in fact been using it for is this cool little free app I downloaded called "Lose It!" that helps you track your daily caloric intake and exercise activity. It's almost like a little nutritionist/trainer in your pocket. I've lost 2 pounds in a week already, just by actually paying attention to how many calories I'm taking in.
Anyway, the question is, does anything like this exist for WinMo? A google search has thus far turned up nothing. I'd like to ditch the Ipod and get back to carrying around just one gadget.
Thanks.
PS: here's the website for the Lose It app for reference... http://www.loseit.com/
I have not found anything. It is a nifty little application too!
Bummer because there are some real cool applications for the iPhone/ipod touch.
Now if we could get a version of WinMo to run like OS X does on the iPhone we would be in heaven!

I think the problem is that there are so many different WM handhelds, so its harder to create apps...
Try these...

Just write a spreadsheet I think im about to make one now. Excel formulas can be a wonderful thing if you know how to use it.

Yeah I use Excel everyday, all day at work. I haven't found the function in Excel that tells me how many calories are in a turkey wrap though. If you can tell me what shortcut I use to do that, I'd appreciate it.

I am a Verizon user, and from what I hear, only sprint users are privy to the new Blackboard Mobile app on the market... I didn't even know that Google differentiated between providers as to what they are allowed to download until today... Anyhow, if someone could upload the Blackboard Mobile apk, I would greatly appreciate it. I know other Verizon users are also looking for this and I'll gladly share it with them also.
If you don't know what Blackboard Mobile is, it's an online classroom environment used by universities so students can see assignments, download notes, and upload homework - The app is free to download, but is, for whatever the reason, restricted to Sprint users only.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the upload! But the program itself is still restricted to sprint phones... The apk installs, and the app opens, but when I chose my school, it says that I am not on a Sprint Device and refuses to load anything... How restarted.
Thanks for your help though! Maybe some genius programmer on the Verizon side knows how to fool an app into believing I'm on a sprint network..

You could possibly trick it by shutting off your cellular connection and use wifi... not sure though.
Good luck, bummer it didn't work out.
I didnt even know this existed either, hoping my school enabled mobile also.
just like the iphone version.. still doesnt work with my school either.. whats the deal JUST ACCEPT THE FREAKING APP UNIVERSITIES
should i go ask tomorrow? hahha
wow, nice find! My school hasn't enabled it either though. What can you do with it?
Just a thought. Try loading a Sprint PRL. That may do the trick.
Awesome thanks! My school uses blackboard and I never thought to look for an app for it.
This is great. Downloading now
Edit: It crashes all the time on me. Not stable for my Evo
Why would anyone want this? It has a 2-star rating on the Market. It looks like total trash.
I read about this coming months ago and then forgot. Thanks for reminding me!

If you go to school, or your organization uses blackboard its actually quite handy my friend.. only reason the review is so low is because its sprint exclusive. So people try to use it, can't, and rate it bad. What do you want in a blackboard app, naked women and free drinks?
It wasnt working on the evo, emailed dev and they fixed it within a day. it works now and it works great, id give it 4 or 5 stars definitely worth it.
Alot of school's havent activated this, I asked my school about it, and they said they haven't added it because they haven't got the site where they want it, feature wise, before they add it. Even though I doubt what they do will have any effect on this.
And yeah, the bad ratings are because of all the people ranting about it only being for sprint.
This is a promo app that plays Devine's 1st single, "We Fail" , off their first album titled "14 Steps to Stone"
: : : DEVINE : : :
Devine is an American heavy metal / Hard Rock Band blending elements of Rock, Hard Core, Metal, and Hip-Hop. However, this band is unique for more than just their sound but also in their peculiar arrangement. The band not only remains spread out over the United States but for nearly a year, and after a completed recording no one in the band had ever been in the same room!
for more to the story go to www.devineband.com

This is an awesome band I have been doing a lot of work with
This app was created in App Inventor because I have no idea what im doing but it does the job of letting people hear them and getting the word out lol
If anyone has a marketplace account and is willing to post this on the market for free then let me know!
Why would you bother to come on the Internet to post if your gonna hate?... {Edit: good to see the hateful post's deleted}
The basic principle of it is pretty great actually; I'd love to have a couple of my songs (per say) featured in a app that can be deleted, instead of having people download my song's & then have it get lost in their folders. They can delete it if they hate it with ease, or have a link in the app to your iTunes/Music page if they like it.
Everyone...
Just because a project here doesn't include you in the scope of people that it might be relevant to, that's no reason to come bashing those who created it or who are interested in it. If it's not for you, just move along....
oh god i'm embarrassed to have ever heard this

Can I just say that if you don't want feedback or opinions, constructive or otherwise, then a forum really isn't the place to be announcing your app.
I thought this forum was a place devs/users could gain feedback and discuss apps, if you aren't prepared to take the good with the bad then why post?

Because this is for people to offer constructive criticisms about the app, not needlessly hateful comments. Saying "this app sucks because i don't like the music" is not helpful in the slightest. We are supposed to be rating the app, not necessarily the music.
By the way, this is a brilliant idea for an app. I think NYGraFFit1 put it best

I was going to offer to throw it on the market for you, but I'm pretty sure you can't with AppInventor apps (I'm not sure, I'll look into it). I know you at least didn't used to be able to, but things may have changed.

Thought this was interesting. Apparently the US Army is developing their own Android apps to help coordinate frontline efforts.

Is that smart?!
Usualy that devices have GPS which can give somebody exactly location of soldier...
In android they can write custom safe o/s
Unlike iphone, android is opensource so the military can review all the code and close all security holes, great choice.

Almost every device in the military utilizes gps, but it is on closed, secure networks.
Android is the big thing! I tell you.
Stuff like iOS will never have so much success. People just buy those Apple crap because they think they are cool with that...
i think if every one is smart, we won't have wars...
those resources should be better spend in production/plantation...
but heck, i'm just a ordinary person, i wouldn't have understand that very well..
cool, are they coming up with there own hardware that is battle ready and field tested?

It's gonna be Dell Venue running "Froyo"
Hello all,
I am not really any kind of coder or developer myself. However, I am looking for someone who is -- maybe someone new to the game, to help me with an app I'd like to have on my phone (HTC Thunderbolt).
It's basically a time-card app, pretty simple. There are numerous of these out there, but I'd like to have one specifically geared towards my industry. There are already a couple that exist for the iPhone, but none that I can find for Android. Below are examples of what I'm talking about:
http://www.crewtimecard.com/
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wrap-time-time-card-for-film/id335510869?mt=8
I'd like to make a better one, and one for Android. Really, it would be just for my personal use, but I'm sure many others would be interested as well. Perhaps if someone out there is a developer as a hobby, looking for more practice, etc., this might suit that person. I'd love to talk about collaborating on such a project.
Thanks!
Not to be rude, but I'd be surprised if anyone bites on your offer. Developing and testing apps properly takes a significant amount of time and dedication, and the examples you gave indicate that the app you're looking for could be quite complicated. Unless you come across a developer that happens to need the same thing, or that you are willing to pay, you may be SOL.
Of course, this sounds like the perfect opportunity to learn how to program! There are plenty of great websites out there that will walk you through the entire process form scratch. Good Luck!

Not really.
These 2 site can help you from scratch.

Google has their own site to teach people.

Sounds like you might need to learn several languages to accomplish your goal. Not sure of one particular one to meet your goal.
