Signed up a few min ago. . . Seems to me that they are trying to copy safari, also if you look at the video, flash is choppy because its on a kaiser. . . HTC you blew it big time.

I wonder how well the server-side caching will actually work. I know similar technology is used by "dial-up" companies, but that only works with text, not multimedia...

I also signed up, no its not by Mozilla, althogh Mozilla is trying to make a mobile version of Firefox, which also looks good.

It's not reasonable to expect a new product like this that depends upon a scaled architecture as its user base grows to be launched worldwide. It's been developed in USA, so it will be available here, first. Skyfire clearly state it's bound for other platforms and geographies, as well.

Problems with Skyfire
Installed it on my Kaiser.
It starts fine - "Starting Up", "Connecting" , but after 15-20 seconds says "Lost network connection. Please, try again later"
And the only chice i have is to click "EXIT" button.
How to fix this ?
How many people have actually got Skyfire already?
I am wondering how many people already started with the beta. If you got an invite how and when did you get it?. I signed up on the 01/29/08, I have not received anything other than the confirmation email, but I have read that they are backed up. Any info would be much appreciated.

I have yet to find a ROM with the Sprint TV app. I have a friend that has this app on his blackberry tour and it is a fascinating app as you can watch full episodes of tv shows without lag. I tried using Miximo's ROM which featured this app but it does not work. What a bummer... If you know of any ROM that has this working app, please let me know. Peace to all. (Y)

For the Vodaphone 32B, This ROM was particularly slow for me and I did not see and Sprint TV app only Sprint Navigation and Nascar but no Sprint TV... I did not check if it was available as a widget... If it is available where can I locate it on the phone and if it is only available as a widget, does the Sprint TV app work and how well? Thanks

How do I push this app to my phone? Which ROM do you use? and when you say the Sprint TV widget works, how well does it work and which features are available?

Hello? This has everything to do with development, this app is in the process of being developed DUH! I did not realize you wanted to be a moderator. You can think you are but in reality you are underdeveloped in the sense you have no business bringing your negative comments and dictating how things are run. For Christ's sake, go rub one out or find something useful to do in your life instead of wasting your precious time coming in here with you uselessness, makes me sick and irritated all at once... Sprint has Blocked all non Sprint user's From using these app, ( Sprint TV ), Nav still works for me... Till Somebody hacks the TV App, It's not going to work.
Likely Looking at the Phone Provider when App starts, or provision of the phone.

Thanks for the update Eugene, that makes perfect sense. I suspected it was being blocked but I also thought it could have been an issue with coding because the Sprint Nav app works flawlessly on your ROM and is a valuable asset in my opinion. Well I guess I'll just have to wait and keep my fingers crossed until someone hacks it... The other reason I would like to see the Sprint TV app on the sapphire is because it would give more competition to those with Iphone 3Gs. I do feel slightly humiliated and obsolete when I'm hanging with my friends and they can watch lag-less TV on their Iphone's while I'm pretending the metal detector app on my sapphire works and I get laughed at. While this is all happening, I am reminded that we all have the same unlimited data plan, yet I paid more for my Magic and I have limited functionality in comparison. How sad... *Sigh*

This is the main "sell my body" for a google voice thread.
make sure you are on 2.1 software install google voice and then login with your current gmail information. As long as you are on 2.1 it will work. I just flashed my wifes hero over to fresh2.0d and it let her have an account no problem.
I have 3 Voice invites...would be willing to trade for a wave invite!

I don't think you can send invites yourself; at least I can't see any way to do so from inside.
When I requested an invite from their site it took them about 3 days to send me one. I wonder if it matters how long you've had a google account, because I've had mine since mid-2004.
I've been having troubles getting my emulators to work on my Xoom. I've tried SNESoid, Gameboid, N64oid and I can't get any games to play. I downloaded my ROM's and when I open up the emulator and choose the ROM it says it can't open the game file. I downloaded my ROM's from a backup and they are in their correct format.
I would be happy to find out how to get this to work. I installed about two different backups (different versions) of N64oid and it still doesn't work. It didn't work when I wasn't rooted and it still doesn't work rooted. The emulators work fine on my HTC Evo so I don't understand what the issue could be.
If any of you guys can get my emulators working on the Xoom I will ship you a free Motorola Camera Connection Kit as a big thank you. You will be getting a legit Motorola and not an off brand cord. I'm primariy concerned with getting N64oid and GENoid to work. You can PM me if you want to try and attempt to troubleshoot this on the phone. I will NOT be selling this cable so don't ask. This cable is going to a member of this forum who is willing to go above and beyond on a huge favor.
Download the emulater from market.
Open up a fresh rom with it. Fresh as in not from back ups etc.
I just did this with a f zero rom I have sitting in my dropbox. Works perfectly.

The emulator is not available in the market anymore. I have a backup of N64oid. I visited a website and I won't say which one) and downloaded a couple of ROM's of games I actually own. My Evo can play the .zip files for N64 just fine but when I try to load the .zip on the Xoom it says fiailed to load "Name of Game.zip".
The same thing happens with the Sega emulator and SNESoid emulator. I tried different versions of N64oid.
I downloaded snesoid lite prior to my orginal post from the market. It is there and it works.

My f zero is. Smc and the nes game I play with nesoid lite is .nes
Moral of the story is the emualtors work just fine.

N64oid Help Page
N64oid is off the market but I found a webpage that is really helpful. It provide a list of compatible roms that will work with N64oid.
I can't post links but if you go to google and search for "n64oid compatible roms" and hit the first link, it will take you to the "mobilephonetalk" page.
I have n64 on my xoom now
The only ROM that didn't work on the xoom was star wars racer, but I haven't tried all.

I'm trying to run Mario Kart, Starfox, Zelda. I know for a fact that they are all compatible. I get errors that it's unable to load the game file. Please try again later or something to that effect. I'm rooted now and the N64oid I'm running is v1.1.

Question... Why arent you sharing the information you were provided to others here that may have the same issue? Isint this what XDA is for? Helping others, etc? Or do we need to offer you something in return for you to assist?
I mean no disrespect but I dont understand why you havent posted the information / solution...
The solution is to make sure the Rom isn't in .zip format. Other emulator roms have to be in .bin format.

I was also contemplating recording a video of me sending it in the mmail but I figured since you helped me you wouldn't try to get over me. I should always follow my instinct for situations like this.

Hey guys I didnt see a forum for the G-Slate so I figured I post a like dislike/like thread.
I just bought a used G-Slate from a local guy here in NJ and I was abit dissappointed when I got home and really spent some time with this honeycomb. I cant call out, text, no swype and I cant watch Netflix on this thing either. Anyboby have any advice on how to get any of these things working. I did get Tango video chat to work with both me and my wifes G2x's.
Is there an app that will allow me to call and text out using the sim card number I have in the G-Slate?
And what about the New Marketplace. Why cant we watch movies like on the G2x's?
