a big hand shake for making this happen, you guys are doing a great job, i am new to this forum and have been looking to get Arabic interface for Android powered device mostly android 1.6, i have been refereed to this forum by one of the forum member and i am hoping my dream of having arabic on my android 1.6 tablet device will come true here, i just wonder if you could help me get this done, i want this for my brothers in Saudi Arabia who dont speak English and there fore unable to use these devices.
any suggestion would be much appreciated.

I've had great luck with Cyanogen Mod 7 and the Multiling keyboard. I've had no problems with using Persian on my Nexus S and Nook Color once I flashed the Cyanogen ROM (I'm using 7.10RC1).
I haven't tried any of the aforementioned ROMs and don't know how well they're maintained, but I know that Cyanogen is a well-maintained popular ROM, so you're likely to get plenty of help and support.

as far as I know the ROM you Mentioned already an Arabic ROM which has the best arabic support at all. it's my base ROM right now.

And i have a question for you :
Why the Arabic/Persian characters are disconnected in the Browser (& all application's like gReader, KingReadr ... ect) in most ICS ROM's.
But when i replace "DroidNaskh-Regular.ttf" in system/font directory by the one i attached to this post the Arabic/Persian letters are displayed & connected correctly !!??
So is it impossible to change the font without loosing the connection between letters ?
Never had any problems with arabic letters in the browser on ics roms
