Title say it all =)
A Launcher2 that would allow you to see through it instead of a black background.
When using GlasStatusBar when in Launcher2 the title bar says transparent and the live wallpaper is visible.
Could someone please do this for the Launcher2?

I see potential UI conflict with seeing the desktop apps under the clear launcher with the scrolling apps. Not sure how pretty that would be....

Before you say anything, yes, I DID A SEARCH. What I'm looking for is a white vanilla taskbar with all the vanilla icons. That's it, no rosie or lockscreen or any mods. Just the vanilla taskbar. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

What rom do you use? And what lockscreen do you use?
Because some of the icons that the task bar uses is inside the same thing that the lockscreen uses. (im pretty sure) So when changing the taskbar, it will change your lockscreen. All the other stuff is simple, just delete rosie.apk and dialer.apk and so on and rezip the file.

It would have to be a MetaMorph then, as the taskbar elements are spread across the same files that contain the rosie and the vanilla lockscreen elements.
Why not just take an existing one and replace the roise and lockscreen graphics with the ones you want?

Grr let me understand why you cant just change the color to white? if you did that it would make it how he would want it right?

It wouldnt look right, the icons are big black boxes that blend with the taskbar. Make it white and you have big black box icons with a white taskbar. And you would have to change the color of the time.

Then why not go in the res, and make the icons transparent? (the black box part)
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS: I am running DamageControl 2.07.2, and what I want is NOT an HTC taskbar with a white background, I want an actual AOSP taskbar. Just like the pic posted above. EDIT: I'm also using the android 2.0 rotary lockscreen.

Pull the one out of my ROM. I took it out of DarchDroid, which is AOSP.

The taskbar is in framework-res.apk, right?
Hmm, yes, I believe so.
some of the files are in com.htc.resources too like location 3g and I think signal

Not a theme. It's ADW.Launcher and he just used better cut to make the icons in the custom dock space.

lol....dude the icons are just normal icons with custom icon packs over them..the ADW.launcher thread is literally on the same page. Just LOOK down.
It's a poor work, only graphic: I've modified the apk of Helix Launcher because I don't like the black background in the drawer and the selecting icons, from orange to light blue, and other stuff.

As the title suggests.
Unfortunately, replacing the .PNG's in framework-res does nothing. Apparently there needs to be some modifications done to the XML's inside framework-res.
Love that semi-transparent look of the MIUI notification bar but I love my CM6 and I'm not willing to give up the ROM just for aesthetics so I'm wondering if this could be done.
I'm sure it CAN be done, there's so many excellent devs on this forum!

Hey guys I just answered your requests.
Just finished up my latest theme for CM 6.1.2, which includes a semi-transparent status bar and a MIUI-ish battery icon. Link is in my sig. One thing to note: status bar transparency doesn't work with LauncherPro. LauncherPro "moves" your wallpaper down 38 pixels, which creates an opaque effect on the status bar. Lame, I know, but don't blame me since it's part of the LauncherPro code. lol. The status bar will be transparent with LP while in apps or the lock screen, but you'll have to use ADW if you want transparency on your home screen. Enjoy, guys.

ditto. i actually have a fully transparent status bar i can put in some themes but it only works with the stock android launcher. works with the stock gb launcher as well

you can use it.
if you are using adw launcher then just untick wallpaper hack under settings
or using any other launcher use multipicture live wallpaper for any wall pic you have
Ponda, this one has a pretty nice theme with it (plus transparent bar). Transparent bar works if used with Live Wallpapers (no black/opaque bar anymore!)

it only works with live wallpapers or, if i'm using adw, with wallpaper hack unchecked? since i flashed to kpe and then to kph, live wallpapers have been causing my phone to slow down at the home screens and while opening the app drawer. i'll still give it a go
i'm using clear glass theme at the moment. is there anyway to get just the transparent status bar (without the theme you mentioned)?
if u take the systemUI.apk from Version 2 and place it the already existing glass theme, the status bar will surely become transparent. but what i CAN'T say for sure is what else will be changed...battery icon, notification pulldown etc...if u wanna try it, just make sure u make a backup of systemUI.apk of the glass theme (system/apps/...) and then replace it with the systemUI.apk of this theme (Version 2). if u like the result, great. if u dont like it, just replace it again with the backup copy. as for ADW, i dont use it. search and download MULTIPICTURE LIVE WALLPAPER from the market (free version). Its a live wallpaper, but u can use ur own static wallpaper as the background (more than one)
ot it works! but now there's a bar at the top of all my apps that's a different color from everything else. oh well, trade off
multipicture wallpaper ALSO causes lag (a little on adw launcher, a lot on others). using the wallpaper thing now. i shud look into this live wallpaper lag....

LOL since the bar is now transparent, it keep changing according to the color of the app we are using i'll try the transparent bar over glass theme. Besides the bar, did anything else change?
