HTC (Singapore) offers Sprite-Backup for HD-Mini - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hi. I just saw on HTC-SEA-page that they are offering Sprite-Backup for HD-Mini. Now I'd like to know if this version is brouht via HTC for free and maybe if it is compatible to our HD2. By any chance, has anybody a SEA-serial of any HD-Mini or is anybody able to download it via some direct-link? Just curious.
EDIT: it is also offered on Thai-HTC, and HK-En-HTC and general SEA-HTC.

For HK versions of HD2, the Sprite Backup is included on the SD card, but it is not documented (at least I can't find it mentioned anywhere on the web site or on the printed material).

Is it full-version or only a trial like CoPilot in Europe?

I had problems installing CoPilot from the danish website, and tried contacting their help-line...
Apparently, again I can only speak for the danish variant, the version on their website doesn't work for TD2. But HTC.com has a version under "support" that works beautifully with the TD2, and that's the one CoPilot's supporter told me to download.
So try and download that, and see if it works for you.
*fingers crossed*
Wulls,
I considered upgrading and checked it out on CoPilot's website only to discover that CP Live 8 is not compatible (either as a new download, or an upgrade) for TD2s or TP2s that came with the original 15-day trial version, even though the general compatibility chart states both handsets are compatible with CPL8.
So if yours, like mine, came with that trial version, then you will not be able to upgrade, which seems absolutely stupid to me.
I wonder however if you flashed a new ROM (most if not all of which wouldn't include to CP7 trial), then you be able to download it (CPL8) as a new instal (which costs just 3GBP more).
My first venture away from Tomtom (and I've regretted it for the most part)!
I forgot to mention I already purchased Copilot Live 7 for my Diamond 2 in May as no nav software came with it. Here is the reply from Alk when I explained this to them.
Thank you for contacting CoPilot Technical Support.
"I am confirming that indeed that the HTC Touch Diamond 2 without pre-installed copilot(trial version) will be able to upgrade copilot 8"
When I contacted them about not being able to download the upgrade They "think" that there is a problem with their server this is why I cannot download it, have been waiting two days for a reply
I dont have co-pilot7 pre installed and ive just brought co-pilot8 trying to install now.....
WORKING
Ive just got it working, no problems what so ever, guess u need to have a devise which didnt orginally have copilot pre installed

It would have been version 8...
But I ended up finding a different sollution, since their support took ages to answer even the simplest of questions.
I had contact with them both by email and by phone...
It took almost 2½ weeks for me to get an answer on what to do, and that was after calling them.
I rarely use support/helplines, but when I do I expect to get a quick reply...
that got to be the dummest firm i ever did buy something from, my TD2 came with a CD with 15 days trial. i quickly buy the europe maps, now i cant upgrade to the newest V8, it says my product cant be upgraded. **** thats lame.
i will wait and see what their support says about that.
or els i have to move on to TOMTOM or something like that.
to bad my licens is only 3 months old........
I downloaded v8 from the UK website (I live in Germany and the German site doesn't as yet have v8 on offer). It took ages to download as the transfere speed never exceeded 42kb/sec, even though I have a DSL6000 line. But once I had all the files on the desktop it only took a minute or two to transfere to my SD card.
I have used it a few times to test on routes that I normally use for work and it works great. GPS aquisition is much faster than with my old TT6, and route planning is also very fast. Also, if you don't follow the turns that Co-Pilot suggests, it will very quickly re-plan a route for you.
Co-Pilot Live8 cost me €29.99 (£25) from the UK Co-Pilot site, which is amazingly cheap. For Co-Pilot 7 from the Germany site it would have cost me €70!! So if you are looking for a good, working, legal (NOT WAREZ!!) navi software then it would be worth taking a look at http://www.alk.eu.com/copilot/
I have this running on my Diamond 2. Works in Portrait and Landscape modes. I am very happy with it and would recommend anyone to at least have a look at the website I mentioned above. Sadly there is no trial version, which is offered by some other navi firms, such as Navigon (30 day trial of their latest software!!).

Yes but how did you download it? I got sent the link to the site, but when I put the required details in it just keeps bouncing saying incorrect information - even though I'm using the exact same details they sent to me in their order confirmation!
Do you have a different URL to the one they sent in the email?
Guys, the version 7 software for the TD2 is the same in data and functionality as the new version 8

I have both the TD2-specific flavour of v7 CoPilot as well as version 8 in front of me.
Sure they have changed the menu slightly on v8, but TD2-version7 has all the same functions - local search, live weather, etc.. Also the TD2v7 maps I downloaded are same as the v8 maps.
Unless different country versions are different?... Who knows.
can someone upload the cab file from the 2577 folder ? would be fun to see what happens if i installed it.

Finally got it. Wasn't entering the wrong info, just that their server was knackered / slow / down. After 20 mins of going in and trying again every couple of minutes, hey presto it actually connected and allowed the download!
Was talking to my friend at ALK who said they have been caught a bit short due to the shear popularity of their iPhone and Android releases - proving hugely popular, especially at the current price.
Co-Pilot 8
Abosolute bargain, just got it for my TD2 £25.99 off ALK website, works great and is slightly better than V7.

[REQUEST] Where.apk

Does anyone have the apk for the app called Where? It comes on the backflip and is available on the droid but I cant seem to find it in the market with my ATT N1 due to some kind of firmware issue. Any help is appreciated.

Hmm, weird. I can download it off the market on my N1 just fine.
Lemme know if that link the other gentleman provided doesn't work, ill try to up it to my DropBox.
google is aware of the problem. its only the att versions that are having issues seeing all of the apps in the market
Isn't ATT 'controlling' certain things about the market? Maybe that's why it's not showing on your ATT N1?
i think they may be because i read somewhere that if i put a t mobile sim in the phone i wouldnt have a problem. hell i dunno.
I don't have these issues with my N1 on ATT. *shrug*
having the same problem with ATT N1 missing Market apps. Attached is a newer version of Where app, 1.88, i think. 1.90 is newest, but can't grab. would appreciate if someone could UL the latest.
I emailed with Tech Support at Where. They said there was a contract issue with AT&T. Appears that if you want where, you have to pay AT&T each month and have one of the approved where handsets.
Could someone that has access to a newer version of Where 1.9 post either a download link or attach the file here in the forum.
We ATT folks would much appreciate it.
Thank you

Well, screw ATT. I was looking for an app like this just yesterday and nothing looked good so I decided to stick to google maps. Are there any other known apps that ATT is screwing us on?

Thank You Very Much! For Some Reason My Boost Mobile Motorola i1 can't access some of these apps on the Market. My assumptions it's because it runing on Android 1.5. Hopefully they will release an update soon considering 3.0 is rumored to be released soon.

You guys really find the app that useful?
The only useful stuff I found it did, Google local search already does.
Any who, here is Where 1.9.6
Where is the only app I've seen that gives a decent listing of gas prices nearby, anyone have any better suggestions?
I'd be happy to take back the 5-6M of storage it takes up..... Yikes.
Zipcar
It is also the only zipcar app for android.
If you use AppBrain and the new fast web install they have, you can install it from the AppBrain website. It still won't show up in the market for updates, but you can probably get it updated the same way.

[Q] Someone please post the manual when it's available

Since different European carriers might release this phone in the next week or so I decided to post this.
Supposedly the tmous version won't be out til the 8th of next month so if any of you European readers out there get a hold of the phone soon, please post a link to where I can download the manual for the phone. I'd love to read through it.
Thanks
Same here ! I would also like to read it.
any update on this from the UK users?
Here's the manual from the UK. Enjoy!
awesome. where was this stored online at?
It was on the SD-Card of my HTC Sensation which I got yesterday!
Thanks. I've perused it all (and actually read carefully the parts that interested me). I think I will definitely enjoy upgrading

Sjgore Nice and great post bro. Thx for the manual.
thanks again. htc now has it on their site & it has a different file name (newer date of 20110506) but they are practically the same. Only 1 thing was changed. read it all & I'm excited!

iirc, the recommend button info on the music app was taken out & the amazon part is missing in the screenshot. i forgot what the second thing that was taken out and/or added was.

ha i actually had both up to find out what was different. yay win7 & their pin to left/right of the screen. the spacing is different on a few pages & there are only 2 differences: the one I listed & I forgot the other.
*edit*
on the newer on page 29 is not in the one posted above
Anyone that may have the Tmobile US version already want to upload the manual that's loaded on their storage card please? thanks
Anyone who got the US version want to upload the manual from their microSD card? I wanna see if anything has changed.
thanks
Just got the tmous version. odd that it doesn't have the manual on the storage card. :-(

even better, if you want it straight from HTC:

I find it weird that tmous didn't include it on the storage card like all of the EU carriers did. It's not like your average user is going to go to tmobile's web site to download it.

[APP] Fooducate v1.0.0

So there have been a lot of excitement and articles about this iPhone Fooducate app that finally became available for the Android a while back. The problem is I could never find it and the Google Market, or any other market, either didn't have it or it apparently wasn't "compatible" with my device, Droid X, and wouldn't let me download it.
I finally managed to get the latest version, Fooducate v1.0.0, and thought I'd make it available and save you guys some trouble.
It does work perfectly fine by the way on my Droid X running Cyanogen 7 with the latest nightly installed.
Just download load it and install from sd card.
Market link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.fooducate.nutritionapp
The market link should work for most people. I guess it depends on the phone model and rom you are running.
I still get "The requested item could not be found." when I click on the market link, no matter what version of the market.
I sure I'm not the only one with that problem that's why I posted it.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Availability depends mostly of the country you live in. For example outside the US it should not be available as it works only with US products, and outside the US the barcode is mostly replaced.
I tried it with some of the products i have and none worked.
In other words, if you change the sim settings to another carrier/country, it would probably show up in the market?

[Q] My3 UK app not available in UK?

Hello everyone
I have a nexus 5 with the latest android stock version.
I would really like to download the 2.3.5 my3 uk app, but my phone says it is not available in my country.
The point is that I'm in UK wih a 4G 3 UK connection... Even with UK VPN it doesn't allow me to download the app.
What should I do? Can someone put the apk here? I tried to download it via Aptoide, but it just the 2.3.1 and there are functions missing.
Thank you.
Davide
Have you tried installing it directly from the web play store?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hutchison3g.planet3
I just tried it and it keeps saying the app is not available in my country.
Perhaps because I am italian? But I am using a uk phone operator :/
It's really not that useful. Just lots of links to their website. Maybe you'll have to reset your phone to UK settings if you really want to install it
I think its Google account based rather than operator based
...and yeah its not very useful.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
The point is that I get error 500 from their website when I want to set up the London underground WiFi :/
Can you please put the apk here or on dropbox/somewhere?

The latest version at Play store sucks even more. I am sick of having to log in from the browsers every time as the App does not work at all on my PAYG Desire HD and Galaxy Ace.
I have had a big argument with Three support as they refuse to provide a download link for the old version.
I got it from my old tablet which lucky enough had not been turned on for a long time and had not updated to the latest version. So as from today my two old phones are back to My3 2.3.5 and sign in automatically on data at least.
I am new to XDA and will take me some time to work out how to get the app on here, but if you are still interested please let me know and I will give it a try.
