if anyone is trying to "Internet Explorer" replaced with "Opera" browser directly when making cooked WM, or "Explorer" linked to the system that is required to use the Internet, I started to explore a bit and opportunities when built with TML WM kitchen

Hi, i think
thingonaspring has done this but now sure, hav a look at his latest ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=643243

double post opps
please delet

Now I can test it, THING WM6.1 v2.11 2010-04-07 21,127, is the "opera mini" but it's worth to try, although I see that a lot of unnecessary things dropped from this edition of WM, and seems promising. anyway thanks for help

Crossbow Reloaded
A Faria ROM Kitchen Production by mfrazzz
I've been cooking my "perfect" rom with the Faria ROM Kitchen V2. I keep seeing people asking for a newer WM6 ROM that isn't "Vanilla" but comes with apps pre-installed (sort of like "the real thing" or Faria's AKU 3.3), so I've decided to release the ROM I'm now running on my phone. While this is not a fully loaded rom, it does come with stuff that I find useful. This ROM is a product of what _I_ wanted, so no complaints about why does this rom have this in it, or why didn't you put this in there. If you don't like how this rom is spiced, then go grab the Faria ROM Kitchen and make your own version (thats pretty much all this is).
Please Note: this ROM was NOT intended to push the limits on speed optimization or memory optimization. It was made to be functional and something that I myself wanted and will use. I've been running this ROM for over 24 hours, and on my phone with BatteryStatus overclocking it to 260Mhz, CpuScaler set to a min of 143MHz and a boost of 273MHz, I've found it to perform at a better than acceptable level for myself, and so far Battery life seems just as good as any other WM6 ROM I've tried.
What's In this ROM
This is straight out of the Faria ROM Kitchen so its a "fixed" version of "the real thing" that I've added packages too, and changed slightly.
ROM Version: 2.18.0.0 WWE
ROM Date: 02/14/06
Protocol: 4.1.13.09
ExtROM version: Faria V5.0
There is no Radio, IPL, SPL or Extended ROM.
Since this comes from the Faria ROM Kitchen it has the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1226318&postcount=4
I've added the following to this rom:
Voice Command 1.6 (US)
VoIP included, follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950 to make it work
Adobe Reader LE
Notepad editor
Pocket RAR
HTC Zip
HTC X-Button
PIM Backup
Total Commander
GSFinder
MoDaCo NoData (so you can turn off data sources)
mUn Keyboard Skin
WM5torage 1.73
PHM Registry Editor
dotFred TaskManager (with registry editor link)
BatteryStatus 1.04.202 Beta 3 Build 0195 (latest version at time of build)
Smartskey 0.56 (DPAD is set to 0 in the .ini so the up and down scrolling works in the Phone dialer as expected in WM6)
10 Button CommManager with Black theme
New welcomehead.96.png (3rd splash screen) to match first two splash screens
Requirements
You MUST have an IPL and SPL at 2.xx or higher (BOTH not just one or the other).
You MUST be running ActiveSync 4.5 on Windows XP (Vista comes with the correct sync utility, although there have been issues reported about Vista and sync'ing with PPC's so be aware of that).
Before you attempt to upgrade to this ROM, Please follow this thread to learn how to flash roms and CID unlock, and how to fix issues you may run into! It is also recommended that you flash your phone with a Windows XP computer and not Vista. It will work with Vista, but if you run into problems Vista can't talk to a phone in Bootloader mode!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
Recomendations
Use BatteryStatus (its included in the rom!) to overclock (I use 260MHz), and the CPUscaler settings in BatteryStatus to set a min of 143MHz and a Boost of 273MHz
For Cingular users, I recommend you use the T-Mobile 2.19 UK Radio. Newer Radio versions tend to have missed calls and SMS messages (just like with all other WM6 ROMs)
Known Issues
After installing, you will need to modify Regional Settings as it defaults to English (UK), and Date Format will need to be adjusted to your liking (same behavior as the Faria Vanilla from the ROM Kitchen)
After initial install, I've found it best to configure BatteryStatus for overclocking, then perform a soft reset.

Crossbow Reloaded v1.5 has been released!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306820
.
I would like to thank the following in help (directly and indirectly) with Crossbow Reloaded:
Faria for providing both the base rom and the ROM Kitchen that I used to "cook" this ROM.
Funman for his fantastic PDF document on using the ROM Kitchen and for answering questions and fixing bugs in packages I hastily put together
ADB100 for finding and fixing some bugs in packages I worked on
Molski for having a nice tutorial on various cooking tools and providing easy access to info at http://www.molski.biz
Many others here that provided information, tips, and suggestions that I used when putting this together
While I'm releasing this, I fully realize this is really just a repackaging of the Faria Vanilla ROM that is included in Faria's ROM Kitchen. Other than a couple of slight modifications, I don't take credit for a full "cooking". This is more like taking a pre-packaged dinner, and adding the spices and herbs that I wanted for my taste buds. Believe me, this was not that hard to do, and I did not spend the countless hours that full blown chefs spend in providing amazing base roms. So a HUGE thanks goes to the REAL chefs that support our community!
This post will be where I place extra files to add to / enhance / fix this ROM
Attached is the cab file for Cingular users to setup GPRS and MMS.
For T-Mobile US users, here's a link to a post by FZZF that has info for your setup of GPRS and MMS:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1250747&postcount=408
For those having issues connecting to the internet via Active Sync, cut and paste this code onto your PC in a file called net_over_activesync.reg and run it (on your PC not your phone)
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services]
"AllowLSP"=dword:00000000
For G4 users, I've attached a zip file with the Splash Screens of this rom (since you don't get them when you use the shell tool). As I understand it, this is completely safe for a G4 as its nothing but splash screens (no OS, IPL, SPL, Extended ROM, etc, just splash and htc logo screens). I've also placed the .bmp files that make up the splash screen in the zip file so you can see them directly before flashing this. Before anyone asks, yes, the htc logo one is grainy. I had to do that due to size limitations of the file. I tried for a couple of hours to get a nicer version to work but it wouldn't display correctly (seems to have to be pretty low res / non-complex)
.
One more post to reserve space for future needs...
woot! sounds great, downloading now
u guys r gonna turn me into even more of a flashing junkie than I was before!
just wanna say thanks to ALL ROM cookers and anyone else that helped, keep up the great work!
Looks like a good ROM put together with essential programs. Thanks
Nice..
I'm glad you got it done
Its good to have a "fully loaded", stable, WM6 out there. And you've likely saved lots of people lots of time and frustration by pre-cooking it for them. Especially first time upgraders, or those coming from faria's 3.3 rom.
Best wishes,
Just what I have been looking for.
I shall give it a whirl tonight.
Thanks
Can any1 mirror this ROM....I can't use rapidshare...
Ahh lets try this rom thnx

Thank you mfrazzz. Sounds like a good ROM, downloading now!.
rom
nice work mate
is this the wm6 faria version with the extra OEM packages from the other thread ?
as i installed them i encountered an error with NoData, an unexpected...
this could be coz i dont have a data connection yet..
it also wouldnt connect anymore to my activesync 4.5.. solved this by
reinstalling the wizard-driver in my pc.
i was wondering if i need anything else added if i wish to add some cab files
for preinstalling my apps..
maybe we can setup some coorperation to make the perfect rom for all of us.
with the help of faria's romkitchen v2 it be the best solution there is..
there is need for graphics, for OEM packages, extended roms and testing
since i read a lot and flashed about 35 phones now i can probably be of use

Nice work, this is almost the same as I end up customizing mine to once I flash..I just add Today'sAgenda and do some tweaks to move mail and attachments to SD and away I go.
I think I will give this a try.

This is the base rom provided by Faria in his ROM Kitchen V2. Only changes I made directly to the ROM was in putting in the 10 Button CommManager, and the 3rd splash screen. Beyond that its that straight base rom, and then the packages I released (and a couple I didn't release) in the Share the packages thread. NoData works fine for me, but if you don't have any data sources setup then yeah, it may crash (never tried that).

This isn't a base rom, If you want to preinstall your own apps, you would need to cook your own version of this rom (or post the packages and I'll consider them for a new release that might come out.
Yeah the Share the Packages thread was aimed at just that, to allow people to share rom kitchen packages so we can all easily build what we see as the perfect rom. Unfortunately, I've been the only one releasing anything in that thread.
Speaking of graphics, I just realized I left out all of the themes I was going to put into this rom. Ah well... I guess a reason for another version of this.

Thanks... This is the base I tend to immediately put on all of my roms after I flash to a new version, so I decided to just get it all inside a rom, and the Faria Vanilla was working VERY well for me.
I personally don't use TodayAgenda (I've had issues with it in the past, and I have a paid copy of PocketBreeze that I use instead). I really wanted to get WeatherPanel in here, but finally decided against it. Instead I'll post an updated cab for it (fixes the Moon phase through 2008) and a copy of the files for the Chemeleon-240-QVGA theme, and WeatherPilot (so you can do one handed navigation of WeatherPanel).
@Mfrazz, Thanks for kicking this out to the masses, I'm running Faria beta Vanilla and haven't found the time to master the RK and cook my own. I appreciate you taking the time to make the kitchen easier for the not so technical and for sharing your ROM. Looking forward to future version and the weather panel cab with skins and all...that progy looks cool.

Bold moves...Wobbley Legs!!! Building my own ROM...Feel free to help.

Alright I've been reading and watching and asking for months now and if you've been reading anything i've posted you'll now realize that i'm a brave, dumb SOB!
So here goes:deep breath::, dont worry used listerine)
I would like to build my own ROM off of the Touch design and need some help. I've searched for the kitchen but only found(and downloaded) Faria's kitchen.
So anyone out there, i am looking for:
(1) A kitchen (preferabley one not too advanced for a noob but set so i'll learn from it)
(2) a rom dump containing the Touch basics for wizard
(3) and this might be the life saver... a tutorial. however limited or vague, just enough to get me pointed in the direction to a working rom.
(4) then finally input and comments(both helpful and hurting accepted) cause i'm not too proud to be told when i might be doing ReTaRdeD things.
I know I may bee passign my place in atemping this but that never stopped any of you.
ok got started on the research. got an ap called "htcrt" HTC rom tool... but it doesn't have the Wizard listed as a device. So is this what i need and if so wat do i use for the wizard similie?
you can use htc rom tool if you want. Im writing up a list of tools you might like to use. Give me a few mins then check your pm.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309549&highlight=core+kitchen
This is the Core Pro kitchen - best I;ve ever used - it takes any ROM so you don't have to worry about whether or no the base ROM you want comes in packages!
Many Thanks
Thanks to noeonkoala and peter for the info and resources.
i came on to present bad news firstly. i dunno how, but i think i bricked one of my smartphones(a audiovox 5600/tornado). I was trying the HTC rom tool on it seeing i couldn't find the setup for wizard(not listed in the drop down). the initial load F'ed up somehow. i didn't get it i did everything like the walkthroughs said as far as unlocking but when i started loading a rom i messed up. THAT'S when i realized my dumbass was trying to load a wizard rom on a tornado so now it wont do anything but stare at me with the blacked out screen. any help on that one(point me to the nearest fix 'em up thread) would be appreciated.
now for better news....
Upon frying my tornado, decided to just do some theory/reasearch and deveolpment work. now before i start hack 'n' slashin at my wizard i need a few moments with it... that is to say i would like to know where to gat:
(1) a "working" Bluetooth FTP cab for wizard
(2) the "esmertec java" cab.
I just moded up to Jaguar's 3.1 cingular a couple days ago and it's beautiful.
!!!BIG props to nottoosmart on the ROM!!!
The java controller is amazing. It even runs alot of my sony ericsson w810's java games(yes before this i was using sony ericsson) in full screen. so i would love to be able to put that in my ROM( as long as it doesn't offend anyone)
using Core Kitchen...
Ok, ok, ok...
Neon, I must say that this setup you have is beautiful. i followed the tutorial and it was awesome. one problem though it gave me an error at the end when i went to move the nbf to the ruu folder so i haven't flashed( kinda scared after i trashed my tornado http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324099 ). But otherwise it ran as far as i can tell smoothly. Now here is my questions....
(1) Could the fact i named it "MiaMediaOS.nbf" instead of the regular "nk.nbf" be why i got the error and if so do i need to redo the process?
(2) after completing the whole process i realized that i didn't edit anything so where do i start to do so.
If you're worried i'm gonna mess up that's cool, but i'm kinda backwards that way in that i learn by doing the part i want first then encorperating it into what i need to do.
The nbf only needs to be name nk.nbf when you go to flash it with the RUU. If the error you got was when you were turning the packages into an .nb file then it could be you overfilled the ROM.
Oooooooohhhhhh.... You can do that?
zeen,
i gotcha. Idoubt i did that but it's nice to know it's possible. Ok lemmie tell you why i decided to make this move even though so many talented people put all this stuff on here for me to enjoy.
I started out with Faria's real ROM (great improvement to my Factory 8125 ROM)...
Then i Loaded Loaded DoudleFour's ROM ( no offence but either i didn't like it or it did'nt like me), followed shortly By the Titanium ROM WM6Ti2 (beautiful ROM just too slow for me)...
I went with NBD's 8.3 and it was another fine achievement but then realized that the Jaguar was "lighter" henceforth faster (correct right? ) so that's where I'm at now. All that blabber to say this, I wanna make a WM6 ROM with the Following:
-Office 2007
-WM5torage
-Total Commander
-BT_FTP
-HTC X-Button 1.51
-8 buttons command manager
(flighttmode,BTH,IR,Sound,Phone,WIFI,ActiveSYNC,
and if possible put the BTH FTP in as well)
-Adobe Reader LE
-A2DP Profile
-FWUPDATE
-HTC Home (i was hoping that with it already installed it run quicker)
-Windows Media Player
-MS VoiceCommand 1.6
-Camera 3.0
-SqlCeMobile
-VoIP
-Windows Live
-HTC Jeodek Java/Esmertec Java ( think there the same, not sure)
**TWEAKS**
-Lunar Calendar
-Time Sync Tab
-Date - Single Line
-Enable 802.11g
-Error Reporting Disabled
-Security Warning Disabled
-Cleartype in Landscape
-Ring Volume Increase
-Enabled Clock on all applications
-Make WM6 ask where to install application
-Prompt before over writing installation
-Enabled SD BatteryFix
-Show "Busy" Status in Calendar view
-Show calendar event text in "Week View"
-Enabled Edge Icon
-Enabled Caps notifier
-Show tomorrow's appointments on Today Screen
-Transcriber
...Basically a simple system that will look beautiful, run smooth and provide the essentials... a moded out Jaguar if you will . Notice i didn't list the default games... i never use 'em, most people don't. I been doing some looking into it and the Java App in the list runs alot of the Java programs and games from alot of different phones. right now I'm using MSDict Dictionary(java), Dr.Sudoku(java), Tetris(java), Worms Forts(java) and a few back of the woods type stuff from sony ericsson's java development forums.
One option you may want to look at is to go find a custom rom that is already built and has everything (or most everything) that you want in your rom (or go find a good base Vanilla rom and start from there). You can then pull that rom apart (if you are using Core Kitchen or newer HyperCore Kitchen, the tools are all there under Extract) and get the OEM, SYS, and ROM folder. Then you can move that to your kitchen area and push and poke, add and remove to your hearts content to create your own personal spiced dish. To be honest (IMO) a lot of the newer roms around here pretty much are nothing but doing just that. Very few of the roms change much in the way of how things actually work, registry settings, etc, but are just reheated versions of other roms.
So with that said, if you do create a new rom, and decide to release it, make sure you give proper credit where the credit is due...
BTW: Be aware though that the latest Faria rom (based on 318) and the NBD series are not as easy to pull apart. Faria lumps everything in one directory (as I recall), and Zoki removes the .rgu files from his rom (or he used to). So with those, you will have to do work to use them as a base.
Oh, one other comment... You could also just grab the consolidated kitchen and work from there. It has packages for about everything you listed already. If you can't find the Esmertec Java Manager package, let me know as I have one.
good.
Thanx.
I took this afternoon to just rowse around the kitchen and make myself familiar to the setup, cause even if i don't go full blast on my first ROM i intend to build the B___H. i did realize there are alot of the program folders in the kitchen that i need and that somehow(not sure, just theory work) i can actually pull out the remaining neccessities from Jaguar 3.1. And trust Credit goes out to you guys everyday... dealing with a problem at work is one thing but the way you guys have fun cooking roms and listening to gripers off the clock!!! my hat's off to you fellas (no but kiss intended).
And yeah if you would be so kind i would love the java program link.
Oh, To Be Young And Dumb Again... being naive is sooooo over rated

Its attached. Enjoy...
hope nobody was expecting a fresh one...
ok,ok,ok...
let's just say i got bored. i tried and tried to figure out a way to create my own rom from scratch, but to no avail.
Sooooo instead i decided to let it sit for now and just get the rom i wanted built using the gifts here. So what did i do? simple first lemmie say Mattk_R fine job on the kitchen and rom sets couldn't have done it without ya .
So obviously based on that you know now i used the "Consolidated Kitchen". It is extremly user friendly and if you know your basics ( Many thanks to Peter Petrelli,Faria and entry level teachings from Mfrazzz & NeonKoala ) the kitchen is a breeze.
Now pay attention noobies!!! (mocking my own ignorance )
If you want a good ROM with very little done to it there are toms including some stock roms stripped to the bone. However if you need a really good "vanilla" ROM, here are a few threads to check out:
Consolidated Kitchen Central - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311144. To me the best vanilla with kitchen i've ever seen.
FINAL ROM WITH Pro Rom Kitchen - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303406
HyperCore Kitchen - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309549. Be careful with this one 'cause if you don't follow to the L E T T E R you might get stuck in tri color mode(boot screen) and need this thread "Tales from a brick and back--Newbies suggested reading".
Thats what i did...
I tried to build my own rom from strach too, but i dont think i can get it...or maybe if i just try and flash about 100 times i might get it...but i dont have patience for that...LOL
So, I used WhiteRat rom (thanks whiterat), ripped it apart using core kitchen (thanks anichillus), then deleted the packages that i dont like, and added my own packages that i have been collecting...
It seems to work now, i really want to try to out for a few weeks to see how i like it, but i just cant control my urge to cook one more rom with different packages...LOL
PS: I have tried many kitchens, i think core is the best for a newbie like me...been trying hypercore for a while now, it can be little more complicated than core...

Custom Rom For Vox

HI All
Is anyone looking for a custom rom for the vox, the roms that have been cooked for other devices are always far better than the release roms, I am willing to write this myself if someone can offer me some help on where to start, or are any of you genius code writers out there already cooking a tasty custom rom for this device.
If anyone can guide me on cooking a rom please PM me
Anyone who is looking for a custom rom can you please add a reply so we can use this thread as a petition for a cooked rom.
Please PM me for details of what you or i would like to see in a cooked rom
Rom
Any one else out there like new rom, am gonn try and write my own PM me if you can help or want something specific in it
yess i was also looking to update my rom... its damn slow... and freaking crashes every now and then..
new rom would be great
A new Faster rom would be great!!
That's why I visited the forum today, in hopes to find a nicely optimized/cooked Rom. Some ideas:
More program memory.
ClearType.
All the unneeded apps removed:
Adobe Reader & MS Mobile Office as I use Documents 2 Go which is far superior (Supports office 2007 and the PDF viewer is clearer/bolder).
The Midelet Manager, I use Esmertec Jbed (supports fulscreen, sound etc) and Jblend for 3D Games.
The Audio Manager, CorePlayer and Pocket Player both have there own.
Internet Explorer, Opera has always been better and their latest realese is already better than DeepFish(DeskTop like browsing experience etc)...
Windows Live, This is constantly being updated...
The Games, they're crap...
All those optional apps could be extracted and added to a secondrary download to be installed as the user wished.

Norwegian 6.5 ROM build 28002

Updated:
Finally had time, and access to norwegian files for a new build. Seems a bit faster and more responsive.
New in this version:
- Removed some unused/unnecessary stuff from OEM
- Camera application updated to version 5.04
- Removed taskmanager from the taskbar and replaced it with a norwegian version
- Removed some more stuff from SYS (Uneeded/unwanted)
Bugs:
- The license agreement of MSN is still blank, press "godta"
- The default start page of Interet Explorer does NOT work.
Uploaded to 4shared:
build 28002: here
previous build 23071: here
Make sure you have read this before upgrading
Important:
This ROM does not contain a radio, the radio of your previously flashed ROM will be used
Please let me know if you find any other bugs or problems! This will definitely help me improve my work! (any positive feedback is wanted as well)

Hi there.
I like to try your ROM.
Espen
I'll try to find a nice place to upload it as soon as I can, will probably PM with where you can find it.
Things I've done with this ROM is by the way:
Removed:
Transcriber (doesn't recognize norwegian letters anyway)
Autoupdate
IRDA (No infrared on kaiser so this is useless)
Livesearch
MS Money
MS Tag
MS My Phone
Added:
Working version of Windows Live (Since I do use msn occasionally)
Taskmanager
+Some other minor tweaks
Basically a quite clean Rom based on a mix of the OEM of my stock 6.1 kaiser and 6.5 build 23071 SYS.
Very nice and it makes me curious
Hi
Very nice initiative. I have tried most the roms around here, and have had some difficulties with 6.5 roms and have currently gone back to a 6.1 rom, but this makes me interested to try a 6.5 rom again
best regards Rune T. Norway
Added info:
Flashed the rom, and tried it for a little more than a day, but I found it it a little unresponsive for my taste.
I always look for the fastest I can find with the best batterylife, but things is of course a matter of taste, and one seems to get picky after trying all these magnificent roms ;D
I currently use 23053-uncompressed (with only 58Mb free storage at startup), and this is fast and stable.
If you wanted to try and cook a norwegian rom based on this one, it might be a winner for my taste.
RT
I've just installed your ROM and it's working good so far.
Espen
have u got any pictures ? and I hope u can post a english vision as well ;
thanks very much !
Improving
First of all thanks for the response!
Also I will not be cooking an english version of this as there are quite a lot of them out there already (probably a lot better than I could do them too)
Have been working a bit to improve this version built on 23071 for a while, and have made a couple of test builds for myself removing unneeded apps, the duplicate alarm clock shortcut and so on, but have turned to build 23081 simply because I like the magnifier in it. Will probably post it as soon as its ready.
BTW. I've been working on a couple of uncompressed versions as well, most people use the SD-cards for storage anyway.
Might take me a couple of days, maybe weeks as I'm currently playing around with my diamonds and trinitys too...
Great - keep up the good work.
Still no issues with the current version.
Espen
Me WANT
Hi, there i would realy like to try this on, I'm sick of reading eanglish on my kaiser
-Thx
Sorry, i can see clearly now, so i found the download link
Just to let you know
Lately I've been working on the 23081 build, uncompressed. It's fast and responsive, but there's some minor bugs with Internet explorer that I'm trying to fix. I'm looking for the norwegian languge files for 23088 though so if anyone could get me those I'd be very happy....
Remove IE, it sucks anyhow. It's slow and useless.
Add Opera and set it as default browser
Opera 9.7 Beta
The beta works great.

Have been playing with the idea, might try it when I get time, not sure yet how difficult it is to set it as the default browser when I cook it and integrate it into titanium. Will defenitely look into it.
Sounds great
Looking forward to your next build
Finally..
..a new build.
Check out the first post for links.
I have not added opera, you are free to do so yourself
Nice.. I'll check it out over the weekend..
Thanks
Thanks for testing! Please leave me a message telling whats good/bad and so on.
At the moment I'm in the process of cooking a ROM with touchflo 2.0 from the HTC Mega (touch2), seems like there's just a few bugs that I need to get rid of, when (or if?) I get it done I'll upload it if anyone wants it. (Not a huge fan of touchflo on kaiser myself since it doesn't work properly in portrait though)
Not working at the moment:
YouTube (Freezes)
Opera (works, but it's in english)
Dialer (fixed, went back to the built in dialer from WM 6.5)
Comm Manager (fixed, used the original from my HTC Kaiser)
Hi, I have not had the time too test your rom untill now. I'm falshing as we speak I will report back after testing for a few hours..

Clean Plain WM6.5 anyone? Begging the cooks!

Hi guys,
long time reader, first time poster.
I decided to register because it really galls me.
For past couple of weeks I'm trying all the WM6.5 roms here, and despite the names like "plain" "naked" and such, none are really plain or naked, or they are unstable or miss something or have other problems like they are "not well cooked".
Is there any cook out here who can cook really plain/clean WM 6.5 rom, perhaps with Mobile Office, but without any other apps whatsoever?
I'm using excellent eOS.4.888.Fire rom for 2 years now, and it is aging. I want to upgrade to WM 6.5 but I can't find anything like it.
I just can't believe it is so hard to cook a plain rom with office and without anything else, why do all the cooks have to include extra apps that they like? Is it so hard to cook a rom without them? I don't understand.
I beg you, o Great Holy Cooks of XDA, anyone of yous: please cook a one plain and stable English WM 6.5 rom for our Kaisers! Please!
I will gladly donate to make your effort worthwile, and I'm sure many other xda users would do the same, as almost every rom thread here have the same question about "is it clean/plain and stable rom"... and I believe it shouldn't be that much of work for those who already know how to cook!

clean and plain
wm 6.5 like stock rom with office mobile 2010
What is it you consider a clean ROM? No manila? What apps dont you want? For me most of the ROMs on here are clean..

You can install the new office on a stock ROM. So why cook it?
clean
there is no 6.5 stock rom for kaiser.
no files other than those requierd to run.
no audio or pictures.

Exactly!
This is what I consider plain and clean:
example from eOS.4.888.Fire rom:
forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2729087&postcount=1
- Windows Mobile with its own apps (Active Sync, Calendar, ...)
- very few HTC apps that are specific to Kaiser's hardware features (QuickGPS, Bluetooth, wifi ...)
- MS Office and its neccessary apps
I don't want any audioboosters or other "cook's favorite apps" to take up space in the rom. Make the rom with UC and we can add anything else ourself, at hard reset
clean plain
just the os no htc or ms soft just winmo 6.5
Since Kaiser has a native 6.5 kernel, you get better performance cooking in everything that you want installed, but I'm sure you know well enough. Anyway, I can do this for you once or twice (only once or twice due to limited spare time on my part).
Tell me which build you want and a detailed list of every package you want and I will leave out everything else.

whats the least programs you can make it with no ms soft even office or pics or audio files .
we arent cooks or we would do it ourself thanks in advance.
I can take out every sound, pic, and document and AFAIK, it will still boot. Please keep in mind though, it does not give better performance with 6.5 NK to install things like Adobe reader, Java, Office, or .NET after flash. You will get better performance by cooking them in the rom. OTOH, I believe Manila, Phone Canvas (and anything else with many picture files) are better to be installed after flash instead of cooked in.
As to your question, I only have to leave in a few packages for the rom to boot, but many things will not work if not cooked in (DRM, I believe is one of them).
