Does anyone know if scummvm works with iso files or can it in some way work with pocketiso perhaps. I know its possible on the PC but what about windows mobile - can't find much info on this? I would like to play those old dos games but the cd versions preferably but I'm loathed to download an entire cd version if its not going to work anyway. Any help appreciated.
Iso-files for PocketScummVM
Hi!
Why don't you just try it?
If ScummVM does not find the game provided as an iso-file just copy the entire files on the iso/cd (via mounting with daemon tools) into one folder. Copied to your memory card ScummVM will find the game for sure.

PS: I hope you only download abandoned and therefore legal games...

SO i just got Gensoid, and i have been looking to find the answer to this question.
Is it possible to use save states from my Sega PC emulator on the gensoid?
and if so, where are the save states located on the phone?
Because i would like to use the game genie on the my PC to mod a save and them use it on my phone.
More then likely the save states are in the same directory as the game roms and your plan may be possible as long as the file extensions are the same

I guess I'll try the save state from my PC tonight. Thank you.
im sick of watching videos of people who have managed to install and make this work. trawling the mass of how to videos/guides. even the official readme instructions are a waste of time. there is literally no step by step 'no jargon' guide out there for people who want to use this sofware.
i literally just want to see what this program is like. if its worth it i'll get the supporter version. ive downloaded tha cab file. installed to sd card. and ive got a fpssece 0.10 'controller' icon and a folder called psone games in my start menu. ive got a pocket iso program on my pc, my first instinct was to put a psone game in my pc and copy a file and stick it on my phone? or am i way off? my computer doesnt recognise the disk so it just spits it back out again. i realise i need a bios file as everyone keeps saying. as well as another file which needs ripping from the disc. but if i need to either download these, where from? and if i get them from a psone disc, how?
anyone fancy helping a noob? would be really nice if i could sit next to my mate at work while he's playing some "amazing" iphoney game and im loading up gran turismo......
look here

hadnt found that guide. very helpful. with a few useful tutorials linked in. ive already sorted the bios out i just need an image. like i said ive got a psone game ive been trying to rip but my drive doesnt recognise it. i may try some 3rd party software and see if that works. thanks for the link
ok. just to clear things up. now that i know where to look for info and how to complete installation etc there is a small issue. it turns out that my dvd drive, although only a year or so old is incapable of reading a psone disc. i tried it in 2 computers at work which are older (1 desktop is 7 years old!) this totalled 3 cd and dvd drives and 'gran turismo' popped up in explorer every time. its not a major issue as i'll just copy the data i need onto a usb stick and bring it home. but if anyone knows a work around for an optical drive or if there are some disks some can and cant read then can they let me know.
cheers
ok. got a bios loaded into the bios folder. got some image files of gran turismo loaded onto my sd card. now if i load the program up i get a strange interface. drop down menu at the top with all images in it. below is a list
bios
cfg
exe
memcards
plugin
skins
sstates
but no loadable game rom? ive used slysoft clone and the poket iso to get an image of a game. but ive got 5 gran turismo files. is that right?
they are
gtimage.sub - 26mb
gtimage.img - 658mb
gtimage.ccd - 773b
gtimage.img.znx.table - 2.80mb
gtimage.img.znx - 366.68mb
ive put all of these on my sd card in a sub folder. what do i do now?
ok. ive been playing and got a little further. but my actions have made me think that ive ripped the cd image wrong or something else hasnt gone right. ive moved the 5 files i mentioned from a folder on the sd card to the program files/fpsece folder on the card. this didnt work as there was stil nothing in the loader screen. i then moved them to the bios folder with the bios i downloaded. all 5 files now appear in the loader screen along with the bios. but as they are seperate files such as music and they wont load anything when i select them. i also found them in the psone folder with fpsece icons attached to them in the start menu folder (did wonder what it was for) so they partially work
my question is, what have i done wrong during the ripping/compressing stage if anything? am i supposed to have just one file to put on my sd card? if so where? some say in the fpsece folder others say anywhere. it only partially worked on my phone putting it in the bios folder. is that right?
anyone fancy helping?

the guide also says to rip the disc as a ???? file. but there are no options in clonecd to change this. just the steps in the guide walking you through cloning and the compressing. ive done it 3 times now and got the same files every time.
the pocket iso guide says to select the 'cd image' from within pocket iso. so is this 1 of the files i get after ripping or do i select all of them? how many files am i supposed to have after the disc is ripped??? and how many should i have after compression????
ok. so success. problem was slysoft clone. download was corrupted so i uninstalled and found a better copy. ripped the image. compressed. i had to put the image into the bios folder to be able to load the game but it worked. must say it runs very well. what i was more impressed was the speed at which the supported version was sent out. after playing around more i decided its not very useful having no save/load options etc.
i have a new problem now though. gran turismo the game will load.i get the sony computer entertainment screen then a black screen with a cd skipping sound. is this a setting within fpsece that i need to adjust or something to do with the phone?
Morning!
I am a casual GBA player, and I have played some games on my laptop on VBA. I decided it was time I passed them to my Android device and tried them on Gameboid. To do such, I istalled the app, configured the BIOS, and copied both the .gba and the .sav file.
Gameboid loads the ROM and savefile just fine. However, when I try to save (manually; not via savestate), it doesn't work. The savefile is not overwriten, and if I reset gameboid I will be at the same point I was when I passed the files from my laptop to my phone.
I know I could work around this with savestates, but there are some things I'd really prefer the in-game save states to do.
Thanks for the help,
Blues003
Yes, I have the same problem. I have a 128kb save file for a game. Gameboid reads the file perfectly; however, when I attempt to save my game manually (in-game save), the game always fails to save. All the save files that I create using Gameboid are 32kb, unlike all my previously created files which are all 128kb. I have tried changing the GBA save type setting but to no avail. Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks!
I have some ideas, look that: I have a emulator on my droid. Wich use .sav 128kb my emulator on my pc use .sav 64kb. The question here my dearly developers is... We need emulators wich use the same .sav, maybe must be a emulator that use .sav 128kb if somebody find any type of solution pleas help me or bether, help us sorry about my english i learnd listening music in my home (@rael2000ix) from Brasil ,,, i just waiting for one developer that can make it thanks i m d go.
This is probably old news here to some, but I'm having an issue I think only the XDA wizards can help me solve.
I found an app for playing starcraft on Android: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.drodin.stratagus
But it needs some data file or files from the starcraft disc itself to play. The app description has a website that supposedly provides instructions for getting these files, but the link is now dead I'm hoping someone here has been through the setup process and can help me
I've tried both .mpq files that Starcraft installs, INSTALL.EXE from the disc, and using Stargus for Windows to extract the data from the disc but it fails in the extraction.
This is my Android-gaming holy grail right now. Anyone out there with more knowhow than me?

Let me know if you figure it out. I'm trying to do the exact same thing with Warcraft II. I installed it on my PC and copied the entire C:\Program Files\Warcraft II BNE folder to my HTC Flyer Tablet's SD card but Stratagus doesn't like it. I also tried copying the entire Warcraft II CD to my SD card and pointing Stratagus to it and still no likey. From what I understand it's the exact same process for Starcraft. So excited to try this! It's been so many years!
If I figure out before you I will post back and let you know.
..it looks like the developer's site thats down hosts a conversion tool that converts the files on the CD into the format the app needs. I found a work-around by doing a Google search on "Stratagus Android" and I took the sixth link down (on Filestube). I own both CDs for Starcraft and Warcraft II and this links to the already converted files for both (not uploaded by me). Until the developer's site is back up this should suffice. Stratagus now loads Starcraft and Warcraft for me, but no sound.
Hello Community,
is there any possibility (interop-unlocked) Omnia 7 to backup the savegames, exspecially from Xbox Live games before resetting the phone?
Thank you for answers,
Malte
Windows Phone Device Manager v1.7.0.0 can backup and restore apps and games settings and data... unfortunately with public v1.8.0.0 backup not work...
also you can copy files for every game from IsolatedStore to PC with Windows Phone Power Tools or any other tool which have access to IsolatedStore
Like dxdy said, the Windows Phone Power Tools will let you do this. I was going to post a link but it seems that I can't, so it's at wptools.codeplexDOTCOM. Use the Isolated Storage Browser to copy save data from the old phone and to the new one.
thank you for your answers...
Fortunately I am Beta Tester of Windows phone device Manager. I think i will try that method First, otherwise i will copy the savegames from isolated storage.

PS: the spelling mistakes come from my German Keyboard Layout
you can't copy xboxlive games isostore, wpdm or wptools won't help you...only for sideloaded apps/games.
I installed WPDM and just had to notice, that there is a backup funkction, but it doesnt semm to work. I also noticed that I havent access to isolated storage with WPDM'S file explorer. I will no figure out the other program, hopefully it works. Anyway ist would be logically if yor're right and it isnt possible. I heard about a function that will be added to Xbox live hub from Microsoft. Maybe that will help me backup the dataa from my applications.
Thank you
With Wp Power Tools I was able
to solve my problem and copy the
savegames from the phone (but nox xbox live...),
cause as NebZoNe mentioned there is no way
to copy from the isolated storage of xbox live
games...
So, thanks anyway,
Malte1234511
Ok, after research i found out
there is a way (even Xbox Live), but I'm
not sure if I can post it here in XDA...

Just wondering if you could help me out as i have the same problem. I have sent you a PM
On a Samsung phone, you can use WP7 Root Tools to copy files from your games' IsolatedStore folders to another location (such as the IsolatedStore of the webserver app, very handy for this) from which you can get them off the phone.
I actually wrote a backup app for HTC phones, but by the time I got it working pretty well, nobody could run it anymore (needed old firmware). Sigh...

thanks for the reply but where would i find the IsolatedStore folders? The game i want to backup is Plants Vs Zombie
The phone creates an IsolatedStore folder for each app as you isntall the app. They are created in \Applications\Data\<GUID>\Data\IsolatedStore. You need to know the GUID of the app you're installing. I don't know what it is for PvZ off the top of my head, though if you download the XAP from the marketplace, open it up (it's a renamed ZIP file), and look at the WMAppManifest.xml file inside, you'll see an ID GUID. That's the one that you need to know.
winco's wAppStore shows apps GUID in a very simple way, even non free apps (E.Reid's marketplace too but need a little hack for non free apps)
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
If someone creates XML file with most popular game names and GUIDs, I can write a simple backup/restore desktop app, helper to ISETool.exe
Suggested XML format:
Code:
<apps>
<app GUID=8eda0151-67e7-df11-a844-00237de2db9e>Birdy Bounce</app>
<app GUID=78681258-ec97-e011-986b-78e7d1fa76f8>Penguin</app>
...
and so on
...
</apps>
