The HD2 calendar is terrible. I am looking for a calendar apps, either free or paid. Any recommendations? Thanks
Best one in my eyes is Thumbcal 1.4.0 Absolutely fingerfriendly. Uses the WinMo calendar in the background (so syncing, showing in hometab etc. is no problem). Handles Tasks, Appointments, extra notes for each apptmt, shows your Appointmentsgroups in different colours, skinnable and so on. In my eyes still the best one. Directly linked to the calendar entries on the manila homescreen (p.ex. with co0kies Hometab 1.6.1 when you tap on the appointments it opens thumbcal) it is absolutely comfortable and efficiently to use. Some Screenshots with the S-Black Skin are attached.

ThumbCal works fine in my HD2

Looks like a winner to me!!
Looks excellent to me. I will download the trial and try for 2 days demo before buying it. Thanks guys.
Try Pocket Informant
have a look at mvcal...
finger friendly, colored appointment, task management, many settings to personalize and the best - you have all your appointments (and due tasks) of the current month at a glance on the large HD2 screen
see screenshots...
One more vote for Pocket Informant. It is by far the best and most advanced PIM available.
Agenda One is fine to my HD2.
hi,
I tried the Trial of Calendar Touch on my HD2 which was really good working
everything works fine without a stylus and also uses the WinMo calendar for sync.

It's a really good app but for me the Manila calendar is quite enough
Calendar touch
I could very much recommend Calendar Touch from shsb.net as well.
very nice and very customizeable

Any tips for some simple and whats important fast today screen replacement with some launcher function? Something intuitive like touchflo, from which I use only home/sms/launcher and maybe calendar (but its not really important).
Tried Manila (eats resources like ...), SPB Mobile Shell, WAMD, Inesoft Phone - all of them seems to me bit overstuffed with unneeded stuff, effects and so on. Liked ThrottleLauncher, but its slow and choppy on my X1.
I would like to have something like iContacts style app for desktop. Fast, nice and simple gfx, finger friendly...is it just hard to find? Or there is no such app at all?
Have you tried the basic HTC Homeplug? It takes just half the screen and handles weather, calls, music, progs, people, comm. You can get rid of a couple of tabs if you want too. I ran schaps HTC Homeplug with the stock today screen calendar program for a looong time and it did everything I needed.
Yeah HTC Home plugin, one of the best today plugins. Tried Manila2d but I still switch back to HTC Homeplug..
Any tips how to instal Home Plug to X1 with WVGA?
Tried one from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533 but gfx is messed up and all icons are so small...
I use Ultimate Launch and Love it - It would do everything you want - And supports plugins - Unfortnately I don't know how it would look or even run on your x1
Hi all,
i am using this freeware calender enhancement that i find VERY useful..
you can customize number of appt shown on today, the font size and header types.
Find it at my blog .. have a post on it there.
Let me know if you found it useful ok?
did anyone find it useful? will love to hear
I have looked at it, haven't installed it yet. Presently using TF3D on Touch HD. Really like the look of it and the way it puts almost the whole system on the today screen.
What I would really like is (now possible) an additional page on TF3D which can have normal today plugins and on that page SPB diary.
This calendar plus would quite easily replace SPB diary if it also supported tasks. That's my gripe with TF3D as well. Why only appointments... when tasks also need similar attention on today screen?
But still, looks very cool. Will try it once have more time on my hands
glad u found it ok
Hi everyone!
Is there any way (or at least registry hack) how to hide or filter calendar appointments for some category in TouchFLO 3D 2.5? I have in callendar for each day name-day appointments. In e.g. month or week view it looks messy and "real" appointments (with other category) is hard to find.
Thanks for any advice.
Same here: I have WM 6.5 on my TD2 and use Oggsync to sync our company calenders from Google to my phone. All company calendars are different categories like "Project A", "Project B", "Vacation" etc. and I do want to have them on my phone.
However I want to choose which categories are being displayed on the Home Screen.
Any ideas anyone how to do this?
Also: Is there an alternative calender App for WM 6.5 which has a good category filter and possibly can display different categories in differnt colors, just like Google calender?
Thanks a lot // Tom

Hi, seems a pretty simple request but I can't find anything that does exactly this. You can try Thumbcal (not free) which colour codes categories and filters them and is generally pretty neat. Not integrated with Manila though. I use it with multiple Google calendars and Nuevasync. Other, older, also non free options are available in various PIMs. Should be a way to do it in Manila/Sense though. Oh well.
same problem - nobody fixed it yet?
I'd like to hide the calendar in the home of the official HTC TOUCH PRO2 6.5 rom..
Is there no way?

Hi,
there was before ssmapa, if I remember well...
what about Leo, is there any soft to change links
from sense to 3rd party software, on example,
from calendar to informant.. etc?
Does anybody tried?
Is there maybe registry changes?
thx
Wox !
I'm interested too in the modifiable link of the home screen.
If you set PocketInformant (or any other calendar app.) to your default app. for appointments and you hide the calendar tab in Sense, a tap on a calendar item in the sense home page will take you directly to PI.
If you set PI as the default app. for task a tap on the WinMo task icon wil fire up the taks "department" of your favorite organizer app.
(didn't test contacts, but i guess that it will work in the same way)
This trick will also work for Agenda One and SBSH Calendar Touch (tested)
Personnaly, I put SBSH Calendar Touch on start icon on today of sence and keep the tab of calendar.
When I want to see rapidly my appointments, I click on the tab of sence, if I want more, I click on SBSH CT icon.
Yeah, that's a nice setting. I like the calendar tab of Sense too, I even use it for quickly making an appointment. A nice and simple way of getting your things done.
But it's always nice to have the oppertunity to fire up an app to do some "heavy" calendar tasks Right now I'm testing three PIM-apps:
PocketInformant
Agenda One
SBSH Calendar Touch
I really like the way SBSH Calendar touch displays my tasks and let me handle them. On the other hand I don't like SBSH CT's calendar week view. Agenda One has a more sophisticated week view that I like much more.
PI is too much of a burden to use for my purpose. Although it has the best week view of all PIM apps at the moment, it is too much depending for it's use on the input of a tiny stylus.
I think I stick to the minimalistic HTC Calendar tab, and use SBSH Calendar touch for my tasks.

SSMAHO, the successor to SSMAPA. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493810
This will allow you to soft-change the Calendar link in the frontpage to whatever you want to launch. I use ThumbCal personally.
Think this is the 4th time I've posted this link in the HD2 forum by now!

Keep up the good work!
BTW Never heard of ThumbCal. Looks really nice! Thanks
Is there a way to get rid of the quicklinks and add a the tasks application in it's place? Or even have a tasks tab in Sense 2.5/ The HTC Leo/HD2 (Aus) is a great phone, but will end up having to go back to standard 6.1 style windows due to lack of tasks tab/manager. Been searching all day to no avail.
Hmmm, I put my task in the quicklinks.
can you explain how did you display the tasl in your quicklinks?
I too would LOVE to have tasks incorporated into Sense, either into the Calendar-tab or as a stand-alone tab.
I presently use a combination of pTasks (from this forum) and Pocket Informant (set up to show tasks in the calendar views) to access my tasks.
Both are very helpful programs but still I am not 100% satisified.
Sadly the developer of pTasks has clearly stated that there will be NO pTasks tab for Sense so that ends that hope.
I love the tweaked setup of my HD2 now and the only thing I really miss is the ability to see and modify my tasks directly in Sense!
If anyone in this great forum has any info on the 'Tasks-in-Sense' request please share!!
I'd also love to have a Tasks Tab or inside Calendar Tab or on Home Tab. Any of the three solution would have a great appreciation I think. Poll on this?
