colured sttings icons??? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

i cant find a cab. file anywere that has coloured setting icons

I found out I got mine through my ROM.
Its a Axlor rom im using.
But you really need to read up on how to change your rom before doing it.
things like radio update, HSPL change... Without doing them it wont work.
Also, back everything up before even trying... because you will lose it all.

Problem with Helmi Crosbow 1.1

Hi all i was playing around with this rom the other day and got it all flashed ok, seemed stable enough but i cant actually use the phone. I assume that i still have to do the set operator bit but when i tried doing this with this rom it seemed to corrupt the file in some way. I think i used the setoperator file i had from some other rom.
I dont really use it much now as i seem to be swimming in wm handsets at the mo but it seems a shame to let it go to waste.
At the mo the device works but i cant make calls. When i try i think it just does the beep beep beep or something.
Could someone clarify if i need to do setoperator and if so maybe point me to the files as they arent with the rom download
Thanks all.
You shouldn't need to do anything once you've flashed the ROM. The choice of operator is set by the SIM card. The only settings you need to install after flashing the ROM are the 3G/GPRS settings which you can enter manually.
Sounds to me like the setoperator file you used from the other ROM has done more harm than good. Either that or the Radio ROM is corrupt. I would try reflashing the CE ROM and the Radio ROM. Try Jwrightmcps' 2.1.0.8 WWE (which also includes some operator settings, although they didn't work for me).

reflash and or today replacement question

I want to reflash to my oem rom using the idiots guide on the Kaiser wiki. Does this also change the radio back to the original radio as well? The reason being is that when I install Manilla or WAD (basically any major Today screen replacement my radio does not work (no signal.) But when I quit these programs and go back to the today screen I get a signal again. Or is there some other way to get these programs to work without reflashing the ROM. THX

Sorry they where taking you the long way around
Here's the direct link to the htc dev support page
Scroll about a quarter way down till you see the radio link
Also use a pc the radio download link is not g1 friendly
okay, so the issue with contacts still exists, I call then it logs it as unknown... should I try to reset everything to default? alt+w? and as far as battery... I just lost 2% in last 2-3 mins, so seems no difference...
ok
Alt w will work also with batery did you flash any non default themes to your phone my phone does that too but I have apps2sd and aero black flashed to mine. Also if you have a theme app loaded they cause lots of problems with 1.5. Only thing that could cause battery drain is something running in the background try doewnloading close everthing from the market it has a feature to tell you what's running in the background there is a free one in the market.
another thing
You could also reflash jf 1.5. To the phone see if this fixxes no need to go back to rc29 to root/hack or flash radio since you've sone that.

same thing =/
hmm
I've run out of ideas maybe someone else has one usually there would be a few people here jumping in to help. Only other thing I have is to do the root/hack again update the radio first then jf 1.5.
yeah I will most likely do that, before I get too deep into customizing the phone, probobly tomorrow I'll do it. I appriciate all your help!

Black Notification bar with stock rom

Hi, i was wondering if this was possible? Im new to the nexus one, and havent flashed on android for a long while, so im not really interested in flashing a rom yet, but im super tired of the white bar at the top. is there a way to change that without flashing?
I had wondered this before, the short version is that the stock rom is odex'ed, meaning you can change the bar to black, but the text will also be black.
ROMs are still the name of the game though, I use MCR 2.0, it's very close to stock (except rooted, himem/undervolted kernel, and a few other goodies). I'd never go back honestly.

not sure where you got that info from, but if you are on a stock ROM, you cant change the bar or much else for that matter without a home replacement app.
no root access=no abilities to root files.
to the OP if you are using the stock rom and have root access, yes you can do what you want to do, either with metamorph or by flashing an update.zip
in either case make sure you find the one you want, nandroid, and do what you gotta do. if you dont like it, revert to nandroid. there are a few black bar themes and other things of the like here.

I think he is saying that he has an unlocked bootloader and root access on a stock rom, and doesn't feel like flashing a custom rom yet, so no, he cannot get white text in the status bar for the clock and date on a more recent stock rom without first de-odex-ing /system/framework.

How can the ROM version suddenly change?

Hi All,
Just a quick question.
I noticed today that my ROM and Manila version under Settings have reverted back to 1.66 despite the fact that ROM version under on the o2 boot screen is still 1.72.
How can this happen? Is it something to do with restoring a backup?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Sorry Mods, I thought I was back in the HD2 General thread. Please move it.
what did you use to restore a backup it could have saved some registry bits and changed them in the phone,
Im sure you restored a full backup after changing the ROM Dont do this !!! Seriously you get many problems with that. Just restore your contacts, messages etc. and install everything clean again...
possibly, my bad....

I changed my ROM ages ago and checked the version under Settings straight afterwards and it was fine Im sure ( I think LOL). I need do a restore today after the HTC Messaging Client 2015 update didnt work and just happened to notice the inconsistency.
Anyway I reckon the ROM version displayed in settings is simply reading from a registry setting (I found the wrong manila version number in the registry also) , as the boot screen displays the correct version.
PS. I use SPBbackup in ROM upgrade mode when moving to a new ROM and and this is the first time I have experienced this. Bearing in mind that I have gone from 1.43 O2 to 1.66 stock to 1.72 O2 and this is the first time I noticing this, 2 months after last upgrade.
Strange...I havent noticed any issues, so I will probably just fix at the point of the next upgrade (assuming there will be one).
Thanks for input so far.
