VNC Server for Nexus One - Nexus One Themes and Apps

This is a work in progress. I fixed the code at http://code.google.com/p/android-vnc/ . It has limited value right now, but someone may have a use for it.
It listens on standard port 5900. I copy the fbvncserver app to /data/local/bin/ using adb:
Code:
adb push fbvncserver /data/local/bin/
From adb shell (with wifi on) run the commands:
Code:
# chmod +x /data/local/bin/fbvncserver
# fbvncserver
From your desktop computer, use any Vnc client to connect to your phone using its wifi ip address.
To do: Compile and test the keyboard driver. Add code to enable using a mouse to control the session, as theres no code for that yet.
Download fbvncserver

Nice, if only it had input

Nice, I got it working. Used my 1024x768 laptop, made me further appreciate the resolution of this device.

Well, right now at least (unless I'm doing it wrong), neither -- you can watch your phone with your PC. A just because kind of thing.
Get this thing running, fire up a vnc client on your machine, get cam studio humming and there's your video screen capture.

does it display the correct colours now?
i tried fixing it back then, even compiled the keyboard driver to the kernel. but i can't seem to register any input. i hope you succeed. i would love a vnc on my phone!

Thanks! I've been looking for a VNC server for Android since I dual booted on my HTC Touch (sprint). Running Nexus now.
I am hoping to integrate this with a resistive touchscreen in my car.
This will be useful.

Any update on getting touch to work. i have a sprint htc hero and am looking at trying to get touch working.

How to use the computer keyboard on the HD2?

Is there anyway to redirect computer keyboard input from the computer to the HD2? This would be useful to type texts in the device using my computer keyboard.
I don't want something like My Mobiler since I don't want to see the whole screen but only to redirect input.
After all, I just want to use my keyboard like a bluetooth keyboard, but using and activesync usb connection...

It does.
Try it, and uninstall it if I am lying. I've updated the link to the developer's website.

I know that, but I don't want full control over the device, just being able to text...
If you're already connected to wifi, why would you need your computer to update weather info?
I have WiFi Remote Access installed on my HTC HD2. How exactly does it allow the use of a PC keyboard to be used through it on my HD2? I've looked and looked and see no setting for using a PC keyboard.
Bump......
Try some remote contrl app so you can use any function of your phone on your computer...
But I'm not sure whether there is any working with wireless connection.

Too bad I cannot make this work because of my wireless network settings. I have a very secured access using MAC filters so that is probably why. The 1.7 is only a trial version right? It says on the website it has a timebombthat will go off sometime in June. Besides this app, any other app that can do the same thing? Thanks.

No, 1.7 Beta 2 is timebombed (it has more features). R1 is stable and works like a charm.
Visit here for the detail.
Why the need for such secure MAC filters? Do you work for the NSC or something? Why not relax your settings, give it a try... if you don't like Wifi Remote Access' features, then ditch it and secure your router like Fort Knox again.
dude just try pocket controller, its great i use it to see my device on my screen and controll it fully, it even lets me skin the session with the right device skin..

How did you know who I worked for??? Lol. My router is weird, I cannot connect to my network if I disable MAC filtering, which is really annoying since I have to add every single device that I want to connect. It took me a while to get that router figured out and I don't want to lose my connection so maybe I will try this app at work.
Okay, have 1.7 installed and still don't see the keyboard options.
Eh...it's on the desktop application under Remote Controls. It requires an access code, which would cause the program to likely be disabled after a period of time. I'll stick with the basic app.

[Q] Anyone knows an app to control phone from pc?

Been searching everywhere for an app that will allow me to control my phone from the pc. Really need this due to my disability(and having just bought a massive galaxy tab).
I used to use my mobiler on winmo and it was great!
Would be willing to pay for the app also.

Hi mcnally,
I have successfully used 'droid VNC server' in the past.
What VNC client are you using on your desktop? I have used tightvnc, realvnc and ultravnc (they all do the same thing, just differently)
I had assumed that keyboards & mice were configured automatically, but there can be a "view only" option that may have stopped your keyboard & mouse from interacting.
Also - sometimes VNC is quite laggy, so laggy it looks like its not responding! your client should have a setting to reduce the color depth, this transmits less data & can help the lag but you loose colours. There may also be settings to reduce data transfer further, like handling the mouse on the client side etc...

I am so confused, any help
I upload the sln project and if you know how to develop with WP7 plz help me and thanks, I will sent it in private with password to open it
I think your post would find a better fit in the 'developer' section. Anyway, maybe you could try the loop-back adapter IP 127.0.0.1. within the emulator environment to connect with the host. From what I recall when working on a host-client app, the local IP actually did go to the host PC instead of the WP7 emulator as you probably would expect.

i9003 Remote Control from computer?

Hi everyone!
Sometimes i become tired of swypying for long, and error prone, periods of time and i day-dream about chatting in whatsapp using a physicall keyboard. My big question is: is there any app that allows for remote controlling of my i9003 from my computer? (I would like to see my android screen on my computer and control the phone remotely with mouse and keyboard). I tried installing TeamViewer Quick Support but it does not seem to be working completely ok. Maybe you can suggest another apps and point me in the right direction...
Thanks in advance!
BTW: I´m on stock DDLF2 with BCK (r14fix).

Thanks. I might try that after trying remote control with Airdroid...
I know and use AirDroid and TeamViewer QuickSupport
I used droid VNC server and it works fine.
Here the How To
PS: while typing, look at your phone screen if the preview on your computer lags, all the sent inputs are almost instant.
EDIT:
I guess TeamViewer QuickSupport is pretty much the same. AirDroid won't allow you to use Android apps if I remember correctly, so no Whatsapp with it.
Our new app, VMLite VNC Server, will definitely work fro you:

is this really possible ?
yes, I am sure that VMLite VNC Server will work.

If android version of XBMC supports remote api which you need to enable in system services all should be well.
Just change host to localhost or 127.0.0.1 and it should work just fine.

Great stuff...localhost works fine IF you use the Confluence skin. I suspect most people using XBMC on their android phones use the Touched skin as it makes the whole XBMC experience on a phone much more bearable but your app doesnt work with that skin. I did need to enable the api in XBMC but that and the Confluence skin and your app WORKS!
Thankyou.

Awesome..but once installed how to make your SW2 to comunicate with xbmc?
Hi,
awesome job. I just installed your app on my sony smartwatch2. GUI is really cool. But now how do I make your app to communicate with my xbmc installed on a Raspberry Pi? I've a remote app for my android phone to be able to navigate through xbmc menus and I had to enter IP address of my raspberry pi on the network as well as username and password. I guess I should do the same with your smartwatch2 app. But where do I setup this?
cheers.
Solved: you have to go to your Smartwatch2 app on your phone via notifications select XBMC Extra Remote Control and enter IP address, port, login and password there.
