Sprint football live - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

I am stuck in an update loop with the sprint football live. any one else having this issue or have a fix. please dont blast me i know the sprint apps arent popular but i love this one

I had that problem, I just pushed the APK to the phone and it worked. However, my wifes Hero is stock and its stuck in that same waiting for data connection loop. Since it's stock, I can't push files. Hopefully someone will find the fix for this...My wife is a HUGE NFL, NHL and Nascar fan.

No, It overwrites the original. This seems to be a Sprint issue as it is not ROM related...............

Got mine working after update. Just download the update, I had to allow unsigned apps or whatever that is not from the marketplace and install by running the .apk. Then after its installed, open it immediately with the open button.
I found if I just installed it and then closed after the install I was in a loop.
Hope that makes sense.

I did the upgrade and immediately selected open instead of done. I'm still in the update loop.

you have to update like 8 times before it is complete... I thought the same thing also, but it finished after update 8

adb shell
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cd /system/app
ls
rm sfl-prod-release.apk
exit

This is also what happened with my update. Ran the update 8 or 9 times and it took.

Is this for 1.5?
It's 1.5. Mine got updated too.
Yep for 1.5...I'm running Gumbo 1.5c
I'm doing my update right now as I type...
all you do is push to /system/app right... you dont actually need to click it and install it, right?
no idea...I used the flashrec method to root and I use a file explorer to install apks.
Confirmed Working on 2.1
just use a file manager like Estrongs , Astro or Linda to install the APK Linda
Install with Astro..no need to push it or anything.download astro file manager from the manager n open the apk,install.done....
Thanks for posting the update!
I installed the modacco rom and it did not have the sprint navigation. this thread is labeled as an update, will this perform the full install or do I have to have it installed first?
It will install as a APP runs smooth on mine
push sprint nav with fresh pre-kitchen...
run it from your phone and it will update itself....
Already updated, is there a change log somewhere?
I was coming from v2.1.
Edit:
Found something - http://community.sprint.com/baw/message/150540;jsessionid=2332946C8CBC06B631342D4107B0C81A.app2jive1#150540
this also shows whats different http://navigation.sprint.com/devices.html
Is anybody else getting a 'you must buy this' on their hero?

[Fix] Fission Android Market 2.2.6 Force Close Fix

So I just found what appears to be a permanent fix for running the new android 2.2.6 market on Fission. I know others like myself were having a lot of issues with this. I'm on the 2.3.1 build of it.
Note: I have tried clearing cache, updating, etc... and haven't had a single Force Close error!
1) So I downloaded a copy of the market apk from here (I used the first alt link):
http://www.droid-life.com/2010/12/11/download-new-android-market-version-2-2-6-for-all-2-2-phones/
2) Then download the app ZipSigner off of the android market so we can resign the apk.
3) Open zipsigner and type in the location of the android_market.apk that you downloaded.
4) Give the output a new name like android_market-sign.apk
5) Install the new signed market file as you would any other app. It asks you about overwriting but just install it and it will "upgrade" your current app, just install it and it will be successful now.
6) Run the market normally and everything should be good!
Side Note: If you were to have any issues you can also just go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications->All, find the Market entry and click "Uninstall updates" and it takes you back to the normal 2.2.
Let me know if this works for you guys also!
Works great for me! Love it compared to the old market ..thanks for the fix. Never tried it before but its working fine now. What is the signer program for? Im curious what else it could be used for?

Edit, Nevermind.
Not workin for me. When try to install I get the "application not installed" warning.
*I installed the one i downloaded though. Seems to work fine...for now.
Thanks ... you know, sometimes it's amazing what you (I) can actually do if you only follow directions.. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Thanks!!!
Sure it is going to help many users
If it does work over time I will post it on FRM.
I swore I signed it and it gave me FCs after a few reboots so maybe I did forget to sign

Just put the Android_Market.apk on the root of your sdcard then change the filepath to: /mnt/sdcard/Android_Market.apk
And change the signed output filepath to: mnt/sdcard/Android_Market_signed.apk
Then go to your sdcard either through file manager or root explorer or astro and just run the apk like you would any other.
I had some trouble to but just typing it in worked and now I have this working great!
With the zipsign update that came today you should just be able to select the file using the built in browser. Just give the output any other name like vending-sign.apk or something. Run the file then from any file browser after its signed.
And im not sure if this helps CM as I only have a droid 2 and just kinda accidentally stumbled on this fix as I was playing around with some other files but it prob should work

What can you accomplish when you zip sign apks?? I did the market fix and it worked well but I wanted to know why they need to be "signed"...can you sign maybe an apk you backed up from an old droid 2 that was rooted and paid for the apk but have a new google account and dont want to pay for it again..would that have them show up in market? Jw?

Try clearing the market cache and see if that helps (Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage applications/Running or All/Market/Clear cache). Maybe also wiping the Dalvik cache.

Nope still didnt work. I wiped both.
Glitches are gone, but it just deletes itself after a while or a reboot, this is maybe an issue with gingerbread, there might be a gingerbread only version, who knows...

The next day, I found out it updated by itself!

But the rest I like it.
Edit: When it's restarted after killed by task manager, it starts reeeeaally slow!

Programs like root explorer will let you delete it. You have to select the r/w option though because /system is r/o by default.

Are you able to download other stuff from store or do you get the same error with other apps. I know nova isn't supported on our devices so maybe play store is just blocking it. Do you have the apk of the new version. You could try just copy and paste into you system app folder.

i rebooted my phone, this time after the loading screen, it said "Android is upgrading/updating" i dont remember which.... but Nova launcher keeps crashing.... trying to run the beta.... it wont start.
You could try and do the fix permissions option in recovery to maybe give it the right permissions. It might need a certain access level. Also it might have to be in /data/app for market to recognize it. Seems weird though that it's giving you so much trouble. I looked it up on my phone and it shows me the app but has the black bar that says "your device is not supported" in place of the download option. It would be nice if all apps just worked the way you wanted them to.

My wifes phone had that same issue. Everytime she took a video or picture she would have to unmount and remount the sd card for gallery to show it, and that only worked sometimes. She has never rooted and was just using the provided 8gb sd card. I bought her a new 16 gb class 10 from best buy for 20 bucks and she hasn't had the problem since.

Google Play Sore Error (-505) -- Lollipop

After updating to Lollipop on my Nexus 5, it restored all of my apps except for about 10. One of them is a widget that I use everyday called Simple Calendar Widget by MYCOLORSCREEN. When trying to download the app, it gives me the message "Unknown error code during application install: -505". It seems to download fine, but the message pops up during the install process. Anybody know about this issue or experiencing the same thing if you try to download this application? I also tried downloading the apk file online but that also fails to install. I can't find any info regarding this issue. Thanks.
I had this issue on certain apps as well. The dev of those apps needed to change something for it to work on Lollipop.

Code 505 is a permissions code. This typically means that the APK file already exists in your /data/app folder. You'll need to locate the APK files in question in the /data/app folder and remove them. You will need root to perform this action.
You came across this problem because you didn't do a wipe of your userdata partition when you jumped from Kitkat to Lollipop. I encountered the same issue because of that reason. I just ended up wiping and starting fresh as my phone hadn't been wiped since I got the device last November.

Are you sure? I flashed the factory image of Lollipop on my phone and it wiped everything. Afterwards, I had to also do a factory reset of my phone from the settings due to a storage issue. Why would that get left behind?
Edit: I checked (phone is rooted) and the app isn't in the /data/app folder

I spent an hour combing through Google group threads trying to get a real answer to this outstanding question. I was perplexed that only two applications of mine refused to install due to this error. The consensus was that the APK file was still there, or some remnants of data related to the application remained on the device that the Play Store service didn't like.
I ended up wiping my device twice:
Once by flashing both the userdata.img and cache.img files, which ended up giving me the storage issue bug on Lollipop. (Showing 16GB instead of 32GB)
Second by performing a factory reset from within the booted OS, which resolved the storage issue.
After that, everything was good to go. Have yet to encounter this error code again.

as long as you have adb working it can be anywhere as long as you know the path
so adb install c:\path\to\file.apk
as it happens with terminal emulator i could download the apk seperately, with other apps i'd probably download on my tablet and pull it off that

hopefully it'll get sorted...
You'd have thought people testing would have installed enough apps to come across it and if google knew about it in october why not fix it
I had this issue trying to install Rom Toolbox. I uninstalled Terminal Emulator and the issue went away, probably because Terminal Emulator is included in Rom Toolbox.
How I solved it
In bootloader mode I flash from the factory image userdata and cache, then I wipe Dalvik, data and cache in TWRP after the first boot I skip the setup just too full factory data reset, in the second boot, I set up everything normal, but instead of restoring from previous devices I set it up as a new device, then I manually download the app that was giving the error, it installed without a problem.
I know is a little too much for an app, but it works for me.

I had this issue trying to install Rom Toolbox. I uninstalled Terminal Emulator and the issue went away, probably because Terminal Emulator is included in Rom Toolbox.

Thank you very much for the tip.

I'm currently having the issue everyone mentions, except I already have ROM Toolbox Pro and was trying to install Terminal Emulator. Terminal Emulator in ROM Toolbox currently FC's on Stock (rooted) 5.0.1. But I use other features, like the Rebooter that I don't wanna sacrifice for just Terminal Emulator haha. Wish they'd fix this issue permanently

You really should look in the rom toolbox pro app a little better. There is an emulator built in

I know, that's why you can't install jackpal terminal emulator if you have ROM toolbox installed as it uses the same permissions.
Although you should read up yourself because if you did, you'd know the terminal emulator in rom toolbox force closes on lollipop on the nexus 5.
I understand this is a old thread but I fixed it a way that wasn't mentioned in this thread. Just thought I'd share for anyone googling this issue and finding this. What I did was go into the guest account and uninstall the app that was causing the issue such as snapchat. The way I caused it in the first place was installing snapchat on aptoide which installed it on both my account and the guest account and I decided I didn't want snapchat anymore so I uninstalled it but it was still there on the guest account which caused the error 505 whenever I tried to reinstall snapchat.
