Have any developers used the new Google Scoreboard app? I like the idea but the app isn't great and I'd like to write my own. I would like to be able to work out how it getting the data - is there an obscure hidden webservice it is getting it's data from?
I have tried several different things to try to determine the data source. I have monitored my wifi router traffic whilst the phone is on wifi only - but I can't see any http info from the logs. I have tried using the android emulator with the market and the scoreboard app running and using the Fiddler http debugger - but android apps won't use the proxy settings (only the browser does) so Fiddler cannot monitor the requests.
Has anyone got any ideas?

I read somewhere that it used Yahoo sports for the data, but haven't managed to verify this myself.

I notice that the UI to VPN is missing from TnTL - or at least it's not in settings/wireless & networks.
The full functionality is still there; easiest way seems to be via an apk called 1VPN, which uses Android VPN capabilities, has the ability to remember multiple VPNs and optionally, their associated usernames and passwords.
I went looking for basic VPN functionality and found this. I like it. It's not free, but they have something called 5VPN which is.
I'm pretty new to the world of Android and was wondering what are some "best"/"good" apps to hide your identity online? I've looked at the Google Play Store for Tor related apps but unsure if they're actually secure and reliable? What do you guys use for security/anonymity?
I use Spotflux and Hotspot Shield and I find that both are pretty good.

There are two main Tor apps on the play store: Orbot and Orxy. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. I've used both, and both work well.

Private mode in Firefox does not make you anonymous.
Using normal VPNs doesn't make you anonymous either. The VPN provider has all your details.
Remember, just using Tor will not make you fully anonymous. The torproject.org website has details, and the Orxy app store page has some tips.

IS it really that easy to steal ID from your phone?
The OP wants to browse the web anonymously and such services are helpful for that.
Its not to prevent your ID from getting 'stolen' but more to make sure you are not being tracked, access sites that may be blocked on your corporate network or country, etc. Ofcourse there are countless other uses as well.
Ill give you one small example - if you want to access a job portal from your work computer without being worried your company can see you are looking for a new job, you can use a VPN to sort of 'mask' the internet traffic.
Or if you live in a country where YouTube is blocked and you want to access it...

Just reinstalled an app called No root firewall for android on my S8. And sadly as i have seen on other devices too there are hundreds of data access in and out from almost All the apps daily.
But one of them was really strange.
My stock gallery app wants to connect to
ec2-54-213-192-171.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com
Why and what i cant find anywhere!
Even damn samsung keyboard is trying to connect to an own adress.
Feels that you cant trust any damn application now a days.
They are all collecting info and spying on oss!

It's possible the no root firewall is using the phone's built in VPN feature to function. The VPN could be used to set the firewall restrictions.
If this is the case their VPN could be hosted thorugh amazon's web service.
This would explain why it wouldn't need root access and why several apps, including stock, are routing to the same site.
I personally recommend NetGuard for a VPN non-root firewall. It tends to route firewalled traffic back to your device, also known as "home" or loop IP 127.0.0.1. While you can download NetGuard from the play store the GitHub apk has a few extra features.
Hi, I'm a Samsung galaxy note 3 user, android version 4.4.2, I have it rooted, and xposed installed. I never installed xposed before but I installed it a couple of days ago and now I'm seeing that I can do a lot of things with it, and because of this I started wondering something.
Well, I have an app called Abematv which is a free japanese tv app that I can't use unless I connect through a japanese vpn. I do this by using an app called "japan vpn" and "openvpn connect for android". The problem with this is that sometimes is too slow and the video quality is very low. So I was wondering how could I make this app think I'm using a japanese vpn when I'm really connected to my home wifi without any vpn.
I don't know if this can be done but it sounds like it's the kind of thing that you do through a xposed module. If there's a module that can do this, I don't know how to search for it. So if anyone knows how to do this via xposed or via whatever it makes it possible, please leave a comment

Ok well first things first. Don't mention lucky patcher here. It is banned as a Warez app and app developers will add code to that purposely causes issues if it is detected.
Depending in how it is getting your location you could make the device think it is in Japan. Something like mocking the Gps.

About the gps thing, I think it doesn't use the gps since I have it disabled and the app doesn't have the permission to get the location, so I think it gets the location based on the ip.
Not all VPN services are the same. Your current VPN service may be slow because it has you connecting through Japan. Nice VPN services allow you to connect to a VPN server in your country while they route your country VPN server to the final destination VPN server. This allows you to sometimes benefit with improved connection speeds. You can do free trials with most VPN services and I recommend maybe moving to another.
Example: Normal VPN> your-device->VPN server in japan->your-device
(upload/download limits determined by home network and ISP max connections)
Higher end VPN> your-device->local VPN->VPN server in japan->local VPN->your-device
(upload/download limit between VPNs determined by VPN servers which maximize limits before passing the information to your local device)
Other info relevant to the topic:

Google says this app is not compatible with my Chromebooks. I realise that the app is optimised for a mobile phone but will it still work on Chromebook if I sideload it?
Will it track the data used globally via wifi regardless of whether it's via an Android app, Chrome Browser, or Linux?
I'm asking the question because this app's ability to manage multiple devices is the most useful feature.
Also, is there a backup and restore feature for all the usage data that is collected over time?

Yes I am developer of this app. Currently this app works only in android (sorry for not mentioning ).
You can monitor multiple android devices mobile data and wifi data usage by installing this app and Sigin with your google account. You need to add members in your account from profile section via email address. If they accept request then you can see mobile data and wifi data used by them. I have attached image how it looks like if they accept your request (image with heading see your families plan).
I have attached link of Google playstore in my post (blue in color) but I will attach sideloading apk too.

If you SignIn two different device with seperate email address, it will work fine and you can also monitor your device data usage.
