What is this?
This is a morph that will make the unlock images transparent.
Why?
Personally, I think the lockscreen looks cleaner without the little tabs on the side or if you follow Mikey's way of thinking that if someone doesn't know how to unlock your phone, then they can't see what is on it (or something to that effect).
No, not that why. Why the name!?!
I have a twisted sense of humor, and the name makes me lol.
Download(s)
Morph
-Recommended Version to use since it will not overwrite any theme/mod previously done to framework-res.apk-
-Apply with MetaMorph-
http://android-theme-minus.googlecode.com/files/Pervert_Power.zip
Update.zip Format
-Should only be used with stock ROMs since it will overwrite everything in framework-res.apk with stock images except for the images in the morph above. Also, it will take more time for me to remember to update the update.zip's. This should only be used if you can't get metamorph working or don't want to use it.

Disclaimer
I do not admit to being able to protect the horribly perverted things you keep on your phone. Mainly this is just to give you that false sense of security and feeling that you can leave your phone on a table for five seconds while you look in another direction without intense fear of someone finding out all your horrible secrets. Also, if this wrecks either your phone or your life or some odd possibility of a combination of the two, then I take no responsibility, but please do share with the rest of us because I do enjoy a good laugh.

very nice bro.
I have been using transparent jog dials with the buttons. I also think it looks clean, and really shows off the live wallpapers.
Question: Do you think it's possible to make the jog dials, transparent, but with like wire frame outlines?

Should be easy enough since it is just images. I can try and play around with it some tomorrow (or well I guess it would be today, but I don't consider it a new day until I wake up).

Nevermind... user error... it was caused by me renaming the .zip file... Sorry, first time MetaMorph user here
I like it

cool transparent.... even now someone still doesnt know how to unlock it...

Used to do this with my iPhone and even iPhone users couldn't unlock it lol!
I might make just the unlock transparent and have the Sound On/Off slider visible if that's possable..

Thank you buddy

Nice work again. Thanks

hey pervert does this hack leave the green and red colors so when i try to slide unlock i can see where the buttons would be?
Dont want to install it to find not and have to restore rom and redo everything thanks.

Look at the screenshot, that's how your LOCKSCREEN will look prior to sliding/unlock your phone

This is good stuff. I like the little bit of haptic that lets you know you're on base to unlock without having to see anything. Now to make all of the icons transparent too. I know my layout damnit.

I did some more digging and not exactly sure what your hack is doing .. i got ahold of my framework-res.apk and extracted the .pngs
at least to me it appears that to give an non shown lock screen i would only need to make
indicator_code_lock_point_area_default.png
and jog_dial_dimple_dim.png
transparent..
but you did not change either of these icons (what am i missing)
thanks

This seems awesome man. Wish I could use it. . . I always seem to have metamorph issues.

Didn't think it would be this popular lol.

The indicator_code_xxxxxx.png images are for if you have a unlock code set. Otherwise, you will not see them. The jog_dial_xxxxx.png images are for the lockscreen images for when 2.0 first came out and there was an arc to unlock instead of the tab on the side.
If you want to leave the buttons and the little dots that appear when you drag the tabs then open the morph with 7-zip/winrar (or something else where you don't have to un-zip it to access it) and delete the following from it.
Buttons:
ic_jog_dial_sound_off.png
ic_jog_dial_sound_on.png
ic_jog_dial_unlock.png
Dots:
jog_tab_target_yellow.png
jog_tab_target_red.png
jog_tab_target_green.png
jog_tab_target_gray.png
@anyone_who_may_read_this_with_source/xml_knowledge:
What .xml or .java file would I need to modify to get rid of the unlock/sound on/sound off text when sliding it across. I don't think it is an .xml because I looked through those on github and none I saw made a reference to any specific text (and I edited them first to no avail lol)?

I added flashable versions, but if you have a theme or anything applied, then it will overwrite framework-res.apk and do away with a majority of that theme.

I glanced at it in hex, but didn't think to look at source since I was about to go to sleep when I posted this. Thanks for reminding me, I'll go look now and see if I can find anything.

ok thanks for the info.
i am trying to do something different..
ie have a transparent lock screen when you have the lock code.. ie no 3 rows of dots on the screen etc.., but leave alll the crap when you actually slide to unlock.
so i change the two files i mentioned
ie

and it semi works.. the locked screen has the black areas around the dots gone ie *the code lock paint file" but for some reason the center is still there which should be transparent in the jog dial dimple dim file..
anyone care to look at it and see if you can find the problem.
i am applying the patch to cyanogen 5.0.5.3 with metamorph
thanks in advance

I downloaded and tried installing the Morph and would not install i get an error saying "The theme you selected was invalid because the theme control file could not be read or may be missing" Its been awhile since i've used morph but i just downloaded the file to the root of my sd and ran morph to apply it.

If someone would do the run down, I have some to share and would love to see others. Might even consider taking requests.
I must say, I do love the current lockscreen. HOWEVER, change is good, and imagination should be encouraged.
How to get 2.1 Lockscreen
If you have the sdk installed on your pc you can try this
Plug in your phone and open CMD and type
cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app/
rm HtcLockScreen*
exit
Now reboot your phone and enjoy!
This will give you the normal lock screen that you will see the the droid and N1 (2.1 lock screen)
{EDIT: To Add reboot your phone}
But also mess up your alarm clock.

without the Htclockscreen there is no way to silence/sleep the alarm, so you will have to use a different application.
this is the only reason i kept the htc lockscreen cause i couldnt turn off the alarm and had to reboot my phone for it to stop
I cannot seem to find the thread I followed. You know, I rooted and flashed all my custom ROMS on my phone, never once using the pc. Is there no way to do it through Terminal Emulator?

That's not true. A dialog box will appear asking if you'd like to snooze or dismiss alarm, the same with the N1.
Is there a way to get a transparent notifications menu? I miss that from Flipz Fresh 1.1 ROM.

The link i posted was too someones custom rom. The thread contains lots of themes and ad-ons. Everything is already uploaded, and the one that says 'Both Animations' followed by 'Bouny menu' and 'Window Transition'. I hope you dont mind tearing apart the ROM, but on the other hand, theres also lockscreens and possible color changes. This thread could be valuable in the making of custom 2.1 themes that we've been looking for. All the pieces are there, especially if its just a matter of porting something from 1.56 to 2.1 or whatever it takes to make the old tidbits (such as icon highlight color change or bouncy menus) work with the new. Or another rom with another rom? Whatever the issue is, theres a nice stripdown and at LEAST a beginning.

[THEME] Desire Notification Bar for CM-5.0.7-T3-N1

For the community because I couldn't find any around.
24/05 - An updated framework-res.apk ONLY for CM-5.0.7-T3 ONLY! Apply this asper instructions below and change the clock and notification text colour to your preference in the Spare Parts app. CM-5.0.7-T3 ONLY. The 3G icon fix by suffeks is included.
OLDER - An updated framework-res.apk and services.jar based on CM-5.0.7-T2-N1 with the black Desire status bar, Desire icons, semi-transparent pull-down menu (framework-res.apk) and white notification bar text (services.jar).
Edit: I don't intend to maintain this or turn it in to a theme or morph. I just threw it out there. Kang it.
1. Push or copy to /system/framework
2. Reboot
These files are based on test files! Expect them to change or break when you upgrade!

Fair enough on the section... even though it's compiled rather than a theme... I could have put it elsewhere. The mods are pretty friendly round here though, so no harm no foul.
Didn't mean to step on your territory either... I couldn't find a morph for 5.0.7 that didn't break services.jar. Sorry if I didn't look hard enough. I take no creative credit, nor do I intend to maintain, I just thought it filled a gap. Perhaps I was wrong. If this is the case the mods can delete.

can this be flashed via recovery?
or do i have to push the 2 files to the appropriate places via ADB?
thanks in advance
EDIT: had to push the 2 files using ADB; works great, using it on nightly from yesterday
Nice, been looking for just the bar.
Ok, stupid question time, I have adb set up on my laptop, but the power cord is fried, need to wait for the replacement to come in. Could I just use root explorer to copy the files over? I'm guessing I'd need to mount r/w first though.

You can use root explorer after mounting /system as rw yes (do this with root explorer). Copy the files as in post #1 and reboot.
Bug
This causes the market to FC every time it tries to install anything.
I've wiped and reflashed cyan 507 t2 and all is ok. as soon as i push servicer.jar and the framework-res.apk it causes market to FC when it tries to install...
Using Root Explorer kept putting me in a boot loop, the phone reboots as soon as I try to replace the framework-res file. I threw adb on my store's pc, got it working just fine that way, thanks for this.
@adam, go to settings -> applications -> Manage applications and go to Market. Uninstall updates, and everything should work fine.

Yes, colours, depth, size and transparency. In fact they're better optimised than the stock images. This was just a stop-gap until somebody releases a 5.0.7 morph or theme though.

[MOD] Remove Text From Home Screen and/or App Drawer Icons (Rosie) - Fresh 2.1.2

It has been referenced that there are alternative home launchers (ADW) that enable you to remove the text underneath the icons on your home screens. The question was posed as to whether or not the same could be done with our stock Rosie, and via a few strategic edits, it can.
Attached is a MetaMorph that you can use to apply to your existing Rosie.apk, that will remove the text from the icons on the homescreen, while retaining any previous edits done to your Rosie launcher. It does not currently recoup the space that the text previously occupied, however, it does allow for a "cleaner" look.
XML MetaMorph Control File <--- Apply using the latest MetaMorph Application
THM MetaMorph Control File <--- Apply using any older MetaMorph Application
Note: When modifying Rosie.apk, any of your existing widgets on all of your screens will likely get reset and need to be re-added.

EDIT: Worked great on my Eris, just didnt remove text on Widgets. Does it on the Hero? Or not meant to remove widget text?

The Launchers (Helix, ADW, LauncherPro) don't do it on the Widgets either. If it can be done though I'm sure JsChiSurf can do it. /endofasskissing

Funny you ask, but you might want to pucker up .
In trying to figure out the mod posted, I actually accidentally did exactly what you are asking, but didn't think there would be much use for it, since there are a lot more apps in the drawer, and it may be difficult remembering what they are without the text.
i would also like it with out txt in the app drawer. But I'm using Darchdroid with AWD Launcher. Will it work?

The wallpaper I use is a slightly tweaked version of the original posted by Konikub so credit goes to him for the original, I just tweaked the center color to my liking.

I'll post it up shortly, but it definitely won't work on Darchdroid, as it is a mod to Rosie.

Okay, the first post has been modified to include another MetaMorph for removing the text from the app drawer icons. It is separate / independent of the home screen mod. I personally think it is a little confusing / difficult to easily figure out what is what, but to each his own!
Reference:
Modified it to fit my theme figured I would share it
This looks great. I would love to use it but I don't know much about Metamorph. I have read some of the links that explains what it is,how to use it, and You-tube links where the creators explain stuff and still feel unsure as what to do exactly. My brain really doesn't work well reading stuff, I am more the kind that has to watch and see somebody do it to really get it.
Is there an idiot guide for metamorphing out there? Or somebody willing to walk me through it? The good thing is that when I learn it I don't have to ask again...

Being an end user of MM, it is really as simple as downloading the free app from the market, dropping the download link in the OP onto your SD card (in the AndroidThemes folder preferably), and applying with the MM application.

Sounds simple enough. Will give it a shot later.
Thanks.
To JsChiSurf:
I've applied two of your mods successfully (I'm a big fan). I have been using your "Vanilla Lockscreen WITHOUT Sprint/Time/Date text" and your "Remove 'End Call' Soft Key While Call is in Progress & Vibrate on Connect" for a while.
However, yesturday I applied 3 more of your mods: the "Remove Battery & Clock from Taskbar", the "Remove Text From Home Screen (Rosie)" and your "Android 2.0 Style Vanilla Rotary Lockscreen Clear Version" and I'm now having problems.
8-10 times today without warning, my phone completely shuts down. I go to check my phone or make a call, and as I attempt to clear the lock screen to get to home I find the whole dang phone has turned itself off. I attempt press the 'on' button -- doesn't work, requiring me to pull the battery to reboot (which then works fine). Big problem, as I have missed several work calls. I even put the phone on the charger, and returned later to find it had shut off. Battery temp and life are completely fine.
I ask, not to offend you, but only to ask if you have heard of this happening with any of your mods? I have nandroid'ed back to pre-mod and I am still having this happen. I had no problems prior to the 3 new mods yesturday. Do you maybe have any suggestions?
All the mods were applied successfully and I was very, very happy with their appearance and your awesome work. Could any of these mods maybe be incompatible with each other? Incompatible with Flips 2.1 version 1 ROM?

i think the icons size is 48 by 48 or 72 by 72, im not really sure.. but i would make the height whatever the right size is so it doesnt make it look out of proportion, but im not very great with graphics
i kinda like this one though

photoshop. The image needs to be square.
There's a whole lot of EVO icons out there. To find the one I wanted I just Google imaged it for 'htc evo.png or evo.png or evo 4g.png. I find the one I want and if I don't find anything I like I create it.

Thanks very much, I used iconverticons.com to change it to a .png to use it on my dock!
I thought I'd share this with you guys.. First off, tnx for the pics (making OR finding and posting here), even though as some said they might be available elsewhere, it's nice to have stuff categorized and placed under a thread somewhere that is applicable to an actual use. And that's why I'm here.. I've a nugget of wisdom to share with ya, inspired to post by reading a recent post about making an icon on his desktop for when the evo is connected.
There's no need for that! The Evo can act just as any Flash/USB device! I was going to post an image, but because I'm new, it won't let me. I'll post the link and maybe a moderator will edit my post and enable/set it to be viewed instead of just clicked on...
h tee tee pea christiankeysmashers.com/_img/evo_in_use.png
To do this, you need to do a couple simple steps.
Fist, use "The Gimp" of your graphic editing tool of choice and open any of the png files in this post, and save as an icon (in Gimp it's as simple as 'save as', and replace png with ico, it'll detect what format you want to use..).
Once you have the .ico file, connect your evo and set it to drive mode. Copy over the icon file to the "root"/main folder (not a rooted phone, just mean the top directory the one all folders are in, nothing fancy/hacked/custom necessary).
Once you've done that, create a new file and call it "autorun.inf". In there, paste the following:
Code:
[autorun]
label=EVO 4G
icon=evo2.ico
Label will of course label the device whatever you want.. icon is the name of the icon you want to have displayed. Autorun.inf file goes to the main folder of the phone as well.
Disconnect (or cycle the mode to charge only, wait for the sd to reinitialize) and then reconnect as a drive once again. You should see your icon and device name/label neatly in place (Note as you can see from my image, this works on all media... I've an icon of my camera on my camera memory, and just about a matching image of every one of my flash drives (just missing one, which is miscolored). Makes it easy and professional to use, and adds a little bling factor to your evo.. If you're all that, you could even take a new pic of your phone so the icon matches whatever wallpaper you use
DO NOTE. There are rules.. Depending on what OS you use.. Sizes must be the same, IE 128x128, or 48x48, NOT 32x48 as one of the png's is.. If that's the case, you'll need to make adjustments to either change the canvas size or cut/paste the actual phone into a newer properly sized image.. The one I used in the example worked flawlessly with simply a png-2-ico "convert" (again, save as .ico)
Hope this help and inspires ya'll out there!

Hi, thanks for the detailed instructions. I've got the phone loading an icns icon on my mac but in trying to get it to work on a PC I followed your directions, however, when I eject the phone and then reconnect it to the PC, the 'autorun.inf' file that I created is gone, the .ico file is there, but not the .inf file, so basically the icon won't show up, it just looks like a regular removable drive icon. Any ideas on why that might be? Thanks.

[CAB] B&W % Circular Battery Icon

First of all thanks to Fightspit from the Android section of the forums for the original icons and smaberg for the use of his % CAB.
This is the second revision of this CAB as I wanted to make the battery icons larger and remove grey segments. They're only slightly larger after all my retouching/cropping/resizing lol but I can live with them now .

}
Even though the icons have been retouched, on anything but a black taskbar, artifacts may be noticed. As the original icons had some sort of shadow effect, which I couldn't clean without having an adverse affect on the shape of the segments.
Install 'SdkCerts.CAB' first (if you don't already have it installed) and then soft reset.
Then install the '% Circular Battery Mod.CAB' to device memory and then soft reset. CAB is uninstallable.
The CAB works on ROM 1.66, I don't know if it'll work on anything else.
I've also uploaded the original icon set, so if anyone wants to mod further, feel free .
Update: added V2 CAB (grey segments not removed in this CAB)
Another Update: Thanks to TheLynxy for the super smooth icons. Due to the excellent design and clarity of this set, these icons will look good regardless of the colour of your taskbar (no artifacts). V3 CAB added.
My personal favorite is still the first set and they took the longest to do
Update: added V4 CAB - all original icons done by me , colour taskbar friendly (no artifacts).
Another Update : BT&Headset.zip uploaded. In my quest to improve the quality of the stock icons, I've uploaded some improved BT+Headset icons. Just extract then copy them into the Windows directory with Resco Explorer or Total Commander.
Yet another update. V5 uploaded, 6.5.X friendly. (thanks to MykeChester for the screen )
I would also like this. =)
I bet dinik could do it. Oh wait. Nevermind.
Just a little levity folks.

Looking forward to the results .
Update: I've found the icons I need (in fact I've found two styles), to be fair I still don't know who originally created them as everyone I messaged said they didn't make them .
It's just a long job of resizing them all and then hopefully someone will give me a hand (hint, hint ) putting the new files into something like Touch X's Battery % CAB.
Just give me the files and the size they need to be resized to and I can see what I can do. Maybe we split up so it´s going to be faster.

Thanks for the offer but I have completed the resizing and am a quarter of the way through putting them into the DLL file.
There is one last hurdle though, the DLL needs to be signed before I can put it back into the CAB. The last time I did such stupid things was when I had a Diamond and it wasn't problem resigning DLL files as the cert was in date.
I last tried to create my own battery icons around January for the HD2 and wasn't able to resolve the signing problem so abandoned it but I do believe a new signer/cert is available now but am unfamiliar with the new process. So a crash course in what's needed would be good. Failing that I'll just upload the modded DLL and/or the ICO's and see if anyone can complete the CAB.
Sorry can´t help with certifying the dll but I would love to have the png/ico files anyway! Is there a chance to send them to me? I would appreciate that.
And of course I´m waiting for the wonderful battery icon. The stock one is crap.
Count me in on that
I would also like this one.
Really looking forward. Hopefully someone could provide a cab asap.
SL bb
Just a quick update, finished it all including CAB . However I've done it wrong lol, the icons needed to be cropped first not just resized and the icons themselves don't look good as the greyed out segments can still clearly be seen (dam transparency filter!!!!).
I personally wanted just a black & white battery icons, so I have just finished retouching every single icon to clean them up. I will just need to now actually resize them (have typically found a much faster way of doing this now ) and then finally re-CAB them. Which I will do when I get some free time during the week.
Here's what the first attempt looked like: (you'll see the greyed out segments and that it looks too small and weird in my opinion LOL)
wow that looks awesome! I like that the greyed out segments are still visible! Don´t change that please. Or maybe you can provide 2 versions?
Maybe I can help. And is there a chance of making the circle a little bigger?
lookin' forward to
Hmmm, ya it does seem a little small. I do kinda the visible greyed out segments, but I think I'll wait and see how it looks without them.
EDIT: Hahaha horstborsch, one minute before me. Having two versions sounds like a good idea.
LOL, @horstborsch & @Bluey Thunder. The reason it looks small is because I messed it up by just resizing the original icons, these original icons didn't use the full area of the icon frame and hence once resized they got a little too small for my liking. I've addressed this by cropping the originals and then resizing to the required size, mental as it sounds it should produce a bigger icon .
Regarding doing a version with the grey segments included, that should be easy enough to do after I've completed the clean (bigger) ones I'm doing right now. Hopefully I'll be able to complete the clean version today after I've finished breakfast .
this will be a great battery indicator mod for stock icons... will keep an eye on this thread...
First post updated with CAB's and original icons.
Thanks man
love your work
[THUMBS UP]
Awesome work! Installed it and everything seems to be working perfectly. Much more informative than the old 5 (or so) bars.
Oh and thanks for also posting the original icons too, I'm sure someone will appreciate it.
