[ROM][32A][6.35]SuperEclair v8.8 Port_v2.1 OC 576 MHz (CM5.0.8 build) [28-Jun-2010] - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

This Eclair 2.1 rom is fast and stable.
The interface is standard AOSP ui.
This is a ported version of [email protected]'s latest SuperEclair v8.8. He based his rom off CM5 and made some improvements. Some users in other forums are saying they think it is better than the latest CM5. I have never used CM5 so I can't comment from personal experience.
Linpack scores of 3.6+ with Sanpei's OC kernel update, JitHack, and AutoKiller.
A HUGE thanks goes to lefeudedieu and Switch33 for their contributions.
Apps2SD is working and is the same as Apps2SD in CM5 with sd-ext.
---> The rom will also boot without sd-ext defined. If you want to use Apps2SD make sure the correct partitions defined on your sd card. Read CM5 guides for partition instructions.
It uses Sanpei's latest .32 OC Kernel for 6.35 radio.
Works with both Cursordroid's and Amon Ra's recovery images.
Everything seems to be working except for LWP (see change log in second post for what is working).
Working:
-Multi-language support
-JitHack
-GPS
-Youtube
-Camera
-Bluetooth
-wifi
-VPN
-3D Gallery
-SupSetup4 (not in v2.1)
-Camcorder recording & video playback
-Apps2SD (Must format ext partition to sd-ext[/COLOR]
-Battery life is improved because of kernel update
See change log in next post
Download the cooked ROM :

MD5sum 1c1234ce14dc13749461cdce37c64fff
NOTE: If coming from a previous version of this rom or any other rom, do a full wipe and delete the SupSetup folder from your sdcard before booting for the first time.
Instructions:
You need new radio 6.35.10.18, SPL 1.76.2007 and recovery-RA-Magic32A-6.35-v1.6.2 or recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img.
It might work on with other recovery images, but I have not tested them.
If you do not know how to change your radio, SPL and recovery, click here at Cursor's post.
Partition SD Card:
1. Use Cursor's or Amon Ra's recoveries to partition SD card.
2. When phone is off, press Home and Power buttons at the same time to start into recovery.
3. Select Partition sdcard.
4. Select Partition SD.
5. Press Home to confirm.
6. Use trackball to select minimum swap-size of 64 MB (I use 96 MB).
7. Press Home to set swap-size.
8. Press Home to set Ext-size of 512 MB. FAT32-size will be the remainder of the sd card.
9. Press Home to confirm and partition.
10. Press Home to confirm.
11. Exit.
Install ROM:
1. Download the cooked ROM
2. Save the ROM to sd card
3. Wipe data/factory reset
4. Wipe Dalvik-cache
5. Wipe SD:ext partition
6. Flash ROM
7. Reboot
8. Let the rom take its time.
9. Open AutoKiller, click Menu, select/click Presets, select/click Optimal.
10. Open SupSetup and activate JIT.
11. Open TasKiller and AutoKiller to ignore (not sure if this matters, but I don't want TasKiller to shutdown these 2 apps)
12. Configure phone settings, set up accounts, sync, etc.
13. Reboot.
NOTES:
(1) The SupSetup app (if you flashed a version where it is included) in the ROM allows you to tweek the settings for Apps2SD, LinuxSwap, CPU Options, JIT, etc.
(2) AutoKiller optimises the allocation/use/freeing up of memory. After first boot and initial set up, launch AutoKiller app, select Presets, apply desired setting, and reboot.
I am not responsible if you brick your phone.

Known issues:
(1) 3D Gallery has bug with rotation but does not FC

(3) Tethering may not work

*For best results with LWP, disable 3D acceleration using SupSetup, select desired LWP, turn 3D acceleration back on - LWP seem to be working fine this way - according to Wes Gerner LWPs break when using 3D Kernel
Not working:
-Camcorder
-Battery (performance is poor)
v0.2
Working:
-GPS
-Youtube
-Camera
-Bluetooth
-wifi
-VPN
Not working:

Yeah, unfortunately something like that is the message... and then ti aborts the installation. There's something that cannot be loaded i think.. maybe i am wrong..

Install works for me, make sure you're using the sapphire-6.53 recovery rather than the hero recovery.
Testing the ROM now, so far so good.

Unfortunately got the dreaded sleep of death. After the phone went to sleep I wasn't able to wake it.

@magicbu You need to use AmonRA's MAGIC recovery, not the HERO one then it will be ok - forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530492

had no problem with flashing.
looks really nice.
Problems:
- camera
- 3D Gallery
- weird bootlogo
- I am missing HTC Sense , I know this is Eclair...
+ I really like the new battery indicator
-> where can I find it / put it on my rom?
switched back to Villain rom

Everything works well, but GPS did not start.

same here; gps doesn't seem to work. nice rom otherwise

I got GPS, 3D Gallery, and Live Wallpapers working (although live wallpapers have a couple glitches still).
See link to new version in first post.
See change log in second post.
YOU NEED CURSOR'S recovery-RA-Magic32A-6.35-v1.6.2 RECOVERY TO BOOT THIS ROM

Livewallpapers don't work here. Rest looks good

Not for everyday use. Slow, some live wallpapers don't work correctly. But most things work (but too slow).

The speed thing is weird. During my testing and flashing this rom maybe 10 times, it was really slow maybe 2 times. All the other times it ran fast. Right now it feels as fast or faster than any eclair for me.

nice ROM, flashed it. but crushed after i ve taken photos and viewed in 3D gallery. Live wallpapers do not work too. phone jammed, restarted after i selected one of them.

I hope to fix live wallpapers in the next release even though I don't use them because they kill the battery.

gallery should also be fixed. its not working for me

unable to flash it, error in line 2

Did you run this all day? How is home screen swiping?
So far i am finding this to be a great rom. Only thing I'm not to happy with is the wiping for each build. I have way to many email accounts and settings to have to wipe every update. Other then that great rom love it need it eant some more of it. I'm finding that when i try not to wipe and do an update i get error at line 353/343 (don't remember which one to be exact) but with a full wipe of factory settings, partition and dalvik-cahe i dont get error.
gonna give it a go, thanks!
ha, i just flashed 0.9, flashing this now...tonight is a good nite for 2.1! why do some have car home and others don't? r they HTC proprietary?

Im not familiar with his recovery. You should use Amon RA's Recovery 1.5.2.
With Amon RA's you wipe factory, cache, and ext, then repair ext. then flash rom

Thank you very much good work ^_^

Thanks!
I'll try this rom on my Magic TIM.
Could you upload only the 32a port of the 1.2.2 OE rom for old radio ? Thanks very much!
And for the "OpenEclair 1.2.2 DietEclair", what's the DietEclair meaning ?
any alternate link? megaupload dun work for me
I've been running this rom a whole day now, no FC's no Reboots, battery usage seems very nice! the live wallpapers are sluggisch, and after you take a picture, the image is completely distorted but when you check the picture afterwards, its perfect.
I'm going to use this rom for a while as a daily one! I'll report back later if I encounter problems. Cheers mate!

The port file is here -> http://briancrook.ca/magic/OpenEclair/OpenEclair-v1.2.2-ebi1-signed.zip
But the port file will give ONLY the original features, not the ones I added!!!
"DietEclair" is the codename for the original OpenEclair version. I named mine "AppleSucks" to be different, and because I HATE Apple

I will add more very soon
Working good!
Installed half an hour ago, without partitioning SD.
Everything seems to be working good, though the home screen is a bit laggy...
It's awesome seeing the animated Nexus live wallpaper working on the Magic. Am going to stick with this till the slowness gets to me (here's hoping it gets updated to a faster version).

Thanks for uploading and making improvements on this rom, I'm really enjoying it on my Magic. Multi-touch isn't very responsive though.
Hope ta see improvements and a working video camera update soon. Keep up the good work!
And I totally support your anti-Apple stance!

But I have a problem about the received sms's time when the phone is off. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=641663
This problem is also existing in the openeclair 2.1 rom. Could you help me to fix it, or tell it to the openeclair project members? Thanks! It is very confused.
There is two "android keyboard" input in the settings. why ? ...
Great rom, finally got my HSDPA to work. first boot really quick I like it, looking forward to the next upgrade, keep it on!
Thank you for this.......but it runs way to "laggy" on my Magic 32a (w. same SPL and RADIO as you) to be usable, sometimes it freezes in different menus......
please fix Bluetooth............thank you
Is there any way to get the H back when you have HSDPA signal.
I know it's not necessary but it would be a good feeling to have it.
Thanks in advance
Hm... does it need to wipe if coming from 'DietEclair'+bcrook's port?
Curious
When is 1.3 due out? I would love to see the camera photo review issue as well as video resolved

[ROM] Biffmod 2.1 - Leaving on a Jet Plain - (11/04/10)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532719Hey all. I wanted a new FROYO build with apps2ext without themes and all the other mess that comes with ROMS these days. So here it is. Based off the latest CyanogenMod6 build. I'm not a dev, nor do I claim to be. I just tinker and put stuff together. Infinitybiff started a great rom which was then lifted to greater heights by RK and the BiffMod Squad, and now it's my turn and I am glad to take it over and keep this Rom alive and going strong but be under no illusion that this is and always will be a TEAM effort with everyones input from coders to end users appreciated and much love should be shown to them all. It goes without saying that if your phone blows up or otherwise breaks its not my problem and I will laugh, I'm mean like that!!!
The Team That Brings You BiffMod:
THE BIFF MOD SQUAD:
Team Leader: Shadowch31 - Welcome to 'The Reign Of Terror'
Assistant Team Lead: Currently vacant
Developer: RoyalKnight6190 (Semi Retired)
Developer: Ezterry3
BiffMod now has it's own IrC channel #Biffmod Click HERE for the web client ~ All are welcome to come along and join the channel to chat about all things BiffMod. This is a very handy tool as it allows members to interact easier and also for the BiffMod Squad to be able to help users with problems faster. You will find me in there most of the time and if I'm not then you can catch me at [email protected]
Thanks to Infinitybiff, XxKolohexX, ChromerSmith, Kingklick, Firerat, Cyanogen, HTC, Google, Dumfuq, Houka420, and of course the guy that made this all possible JesusFreke!!!! we wouldnt be where we are now if it wasnt for him.
Like I have said a lot Sharing is Caring so the Camera fix, Single Swipe of Notification and a few other minor fixes and upgrades have been done by the hard work of the CM People who work there butts off to bring us the great work they do. So to Cyanogen and his Team THANK YOU!!! Also I would like to thank Firerat to which we are borrowing heavily from his All In One Patch (1.4) to which we made the scripts from, so to you sir Thank You!!.

This should be common knowledge by now but if you want to complain about an issue make sure you have a log cat also you should be running a log cat on every first boot. If you dont have ADB set up on your computer follow this very easy guide to set it up. It truly only takes a few minutes.
PC Users - Guide ADB,FastBoot and Nandroid for Noobs
Linux Users - How to Set up Android SDK/ADB/Fastboot on Ubuntu Linux
Install Guide By Ohsaka:
No Multi-Reboot Required Anymore!
1 - (Optional,Recommended) Perform a BART backup from Recovery
2 - Power off phone
3 - Wipe system partition using one of these 4 methods:
*Volume down, home back and power for system wipe then use amon ra to wipe the rest
*fastboot erase system -w (Boot into Fastboot by holding back and power on at same time)
*adb shell mount -a; rm -rf /system/*; (ADB via recovery)
*Or using this flashable zip - Download Here Flash in Recovery reboot into recovery after flashed, Not the preferred method!!
4 - Hold Home and power on phone into Recovery mode
5 - Wipe SD Ext and repair SD Ext partition (other wipe options are redundant due to Fastboot erase)
6 - Flash the latest BiffMod ROM
6.b - ONLY if you have a 3.22.* radio install EBI1 kernel (port) file [magic32a/rogers dreams]
7 - Flash the latest BiffMod-Gapps update
8 - (Optional) Flash a BiffMod theme
9 - (Optional) Flash the ADW Launcher installer
10 - Reboot, Let screen go black before proceeding
11 - Click Menu, finish setup wizard and skip account sign in
12 - Click Menu, go to Settings, click Accounts & Sync. Sign into Google account, wait for sync to completely finish before proceeding.
13 - Click Menu, go to Settings and click cm6-BiffMod Settings
14 - Click Application Settings and check “Allow Application Moving”, dont change install location
15 - (Optional) Click Back, click Performance Settings, check Lock Home in Memory, Change VM Heap Size to 24M
15a- You can decide if you want to use Compcache or Swap (and/or JIT). We recommend Swap only and no JIT, which are the defaults now.
16 - Enjoy 2.1 and download apps and finish setting phone up your own way.
Note: You may have noticed the new option to "Enable dex2sd" under cm6-Biffmod -> Application. This will move the dalvik-cache directory to and from your sdcard. We recommend keeping it on internal memory because it will be faster. However, if you install a large number of applications then you will need to move the dalvik-cache to sdcard. After you change the setting and restart, the initial boot will take longer than normal because it has to recreate the cache directory in its new location.
More Instructions To Remove Launcher after installing AfterMarket Launcher:
Remember to have a AfterMarket Launcher installed before you attempt to do this.
In Terminal Type

[ROM] [10/6/12] ClearDroid Inspire 4G [V1.4.1] [Inspire-Base] [Stock or ModPack]

Welcome to the ClearDroid ROM!
Code:
This ROM is a first from me, ClearD.
While it should be stable, I am NOT responsible if you
lose data/damage your device/cut yourself on sharp
edges/turn your device into a thermonuclear explosive/
melt kittens/create brain-hungry zombie Ronald McDonalds/
anything else bad that I forgot to mention. That said,
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE YOU BEGIN.
The purpose of this ROM is to give you a near-stock experience with a few added features. It is not going to be loaded down with everything under the sun, and if at all possible, I want it to remain so that you won't even have to wipe your stock ROM before installing this. However, should something not work as it should (for example, app sideloading), make a full Titanium backup, then do a full wipe before installing again, then restore the app data you need through Titanium. Beginning with version 1.0.3, the need for a full wipe may become more necessary, as more system files get changed. In order to use SetCPU with the stock kernel (ClearDroid versions before 1.2.4), make sure you press "menu" and select "Disable PerfLock" first.
What's included?

This is the official ClearDroid ModPack. It contains several of the most popular mods all in one easy flash. The current ModPack contains the following:
-Green Gradient Smooth Circle Battery Mod
-Extended Power Control Menu (or Power Control Widget)
-Extended Shutdown Menu (contains recovery, etc)
ISSUES:
-The Modpack is currently based off of the Desire HD framework, and thus removes the H+ icon and also turns your 5-bar battery signal meter into a 4-bar meter. It does NOT remove your 4G, nor does it change your signal strength. This is a work in progress to port over the Inspire framework next.
[size=3][URL="http://www.cleardroidroms.com/download/click.php?id=10"]Extended Shutdown Menu[/URL][/size]
This is the menu that shows up when you long-press the power button. The extended version has been brought to the Inspire courtsey of Dilligaf and Pendo! Thanks guys! :)
[size=3][URL="http://bit.ly/hTgLtp"]ClearDroid Smooth Circle (Super Circle; Gradient) Batterymod[/URL][/size]
This version has a gradient battery indicator transitioning from blue (full) down to red (empty). It has a "hybrid" style charging animation, showing the battery percentage, followed by a fluid charging motion filling the indicator from the current percentage to full. Thank you Pendo!
[size=3][URL="http://bit.ly/htP0sX"]ClearDroid Smooth Circle (Super Circle; Green) Batterymod[/URL][/size]
This version has a green battery meter from 100%-50%, then turning to yellow to 25%, then red to 0%. Thanks Pendo!

This is the famous "Power Control Widget" from the Evo forum. Pendo has ported the framework over to our ClearDroid ROM. The first boot after installing WILL take a long while, and instructions for use can be found [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12450093&postcount=213"]HERE.[/URL] Thanks Pendo!

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions/Comments/Suggestions? Post below!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Before Installation:
-Make sure that you have cleared cache and dalvik cache in clockworkmod.
-Make sure that all covers are back on the device (MicroSD and battery door).
-Make sure you are formatted into EXT3 (the format that came with the Inspire) and not EXT4, which some other ROMs use.
-Do NOT use any Task Managers, Task Killers, Task Murderers, or Task Rapists applications with Android!!!! I cannot stress this enough. Also, if you feel a need to run an AntiVirus application on your device, BE SURE YOUR ROM WORKS PROPERLY BEFOREHAND. I have had numerous reports of users with errors that are Task Manager and AntiVirus app related. Also, READ THE PERMISSIONS BEFORE INSTALLING APPS. If a game requests to view your phone book, DON'T INSTALL IT. IT'S SHADY.
After Installation:
-Make sure you do NOT reinstall all system apps and data through titanium backup. The system apps change from build to build, and if you're installing the old data to the new apps, it will only cause problems and force closes.
-Once again, I reiterate, do NOT use any Task Managers, Task Killers, Task Murderers, or Task Rapists applications with Android!!!! Questions and Answers:
Q: I flashed the FroYo ModPack, and the "+" is gone from my "H+" icon... did I lose my 4G?
A: No, it is still there, but some of the framework-res.apk files in the modpack had to be taken from the Desire HD in order for it to function properly. Since the Desire HD doesn't HAVE the H+ icon, it is missing, however your 4G connection is still there.
Q: I flashed the new radio and latest ROM, but my battery seems to be draining faster than ever. Is this normal?
A: Try flashing the radio one more time AFTER you flash the ROM, then charge battery to 100%, go into the "advanced" menu in clockworkmod, and "erase battery stats". Reboot the phone, and give it a couple of days to recalibrate the battery and you should be golden.
Q: I tried to flash one of the ROMs, but I keep bootlooping... what's going on?
A: Make sure that if you're coming from another ROM that you first install the proper Radio that ClearDroid uses, then do a full wipe along with a dalvik cache wipe (in advanced menu). This should guarantee a successful boot. If you've installed the A2SD version, make sure you have created an EXT3 or EXT4 partition on your microSD card using ROM Manager before installation.
Q: I flashed the new ROM, but my GPS is not working, or sporadic at best?
A: Try flashing the preferred radio a few more times after you've flashed the ROM. Also, try powering down your phone and removing the battery for around 30 seconds, then placing it back in and powering back up. For your first GPS lock, go outside in an open area so that the satellites have the best possible line of sight to you. After you gain an initial lock, subsequent locks will be faster, as your phone "knows where it is". Double and triple check that your battery door and MicroSD cover are on the device tightly, as these contain small contacts that will affect your radio signal. Take off any cases (such as OtterBox) from the device for your first initial lock.
Q: I have an app that is force-closing, what should I do?
A: Go to the market and update the application. If it doesn't update, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If this does not work, go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All, select the application that is messing up, and clear its data and cache.
Q: Why won't my device go into bootloader when restarted holding volume down + power?
A: Make sure USB Debugging is on and Fastboot is off. If these are correct, on your phone, hold the power button and press "Restart", and hold volume down as the phone is restarting. It will vibrate as the screen goes black, then boot into HBOOT as the screen comes back up. If this does not occur, there may be a hardware problem with your phone.
A (alternate): Download and flash the modpack through clockworkmod, then boot the phone. Hold the power button, select "Restart", then "Bootloader". Your device will reboot into bootloader. If neither of these methods work, your device may also have a corrupt bootloader.
haha nuclear war. No but seriously once my phone charges I'll flash it and give it a drive down the block and back.
Will flash and post results.

Any idea where I can find this? I do enjoy black themes...
EDIT: Also guys... this is my first ROM ever. So if you have input, please let me know. Anything you want added/changed/etc.
I'm also looking for a nice ClearDroid logo boot screen, if anyone is good with making graphics.

Assuming it works, it will be going in version 1.0.2 tomorrow. I'm also adding Adfree Android, but not actually ENABLING it in the Rom, so you guys can choose to enable it or not. It messes with Words with Friends, but it nicely takes the ads away from everything else.
And a splash screen is what I need to make with a logo of some type.

It will work just has to be renamed ATT_bootanimaition.zip and placed in >resources>customize.
Let me know what you want for a splash screen and I can try and make one. From what I have read it has to be flashed like an .img, but I'm not entirely sure.
Finally ... some ROM action not based off of the Desire HD. Thank you, I will be downloading this tonight to try out.

There are 2 ROMs by TPC that are based off stock Inspire as well. Those work great, haven't tried this one, but may if I get bored with the others.
ClearD, just wanted to wish you luck with your new rom. Nice job.
Thanks guys Version 1.0.2 will be out tonight, if all goes well.
I like it because there are no patches, no APNs will be needed, no modifications at all. It will work right out of the box.
Anyone having any issues so far? Likes? Dislikes?
I'm having a lot of trouble getting the boot animation to stick. Definitely not stored where it should be... It's now booting to a black screen instead of showing anything at all, then loading into the ROM as normal. =/
