Google Maps without data connection - General Questions and Answers

On many occasions I like to be able to access and use my Google Maps when I do not have an active data connection(Yes, this is possible). I can look up locations that I have previously viewed which are in cache.
When Google Maps is run and the "Network Unavailable - data connection required" error screen appears, you can press the "Cancel" softkey at the bottom of the screen, and continue to view the maps you have in your cache.
(FYI, I just recently discovered that when you run Google Maps for the first time after doing a fresh install, the "Cancel" softkey option won't be there. You will need a WiFi(data) connection the first time you run the program so it can download some map data to work with.)
However, if you scroll the map so that the tiniest little corner of map data is absent, the error screen pops up again. If you are using the My Location feature, the error pops up constantly and you continually have to push the Cancel button.
So my big question is: Is there a hack for Windows Mobile devices that would keep the "Network Unavailable" screen error from popping up at all???
Some registry value or something that would "fool" Google Maps into "thinking" that there is a data connection???
Your help is appreciated.

Google Now: 'Navigate home' takes me to wrong location

Hi guys, I recently got a second Nexus 5 (RMA) and I've set it up and enabled Google Now.
Google Now works properly except when I say or type into it: 'Navigate home'. When I do so it takes me to an address in London but, I have my home address set to a location in Australia.
I've tried setting my home address in the Google Now settings and in the Google Map settings to a new location and changing it back, but it still takes me to the same London location. I've even cleared the data and cache of Google Search and re-enabled Google Now, it still takes me to London.
The previous Nexus 5 and all other Android phones I have had with Google Now have taken me home successfully.
Has anyone encountered this before or know of a solution? Its rather annoying.... I don't want to do a factory reset if at all possible.
How about if you say, "Navigate me home"?
Thanks for the suggestion but I just tried it and it still shows the London location.
I just got a Navigate Home card show up which is showing the correct location. For some reason when I tell it to navigate home it thinks I live in London!
/Edit
It has magically fixed itself.

[Completed] How to skip the Wifi Set up screen on my google nexus 7

I had to do a hard reset to my device after not using it for a while and forgot the password. So now it lets me pick the language and then requires me to select Wi-Fi. I have tried setting it up under the wi-fi in my office and it says connecting. But then it says:
Webpage not available
The webpage might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
suggestions:
Make sure you have data connection
Reload this webpage later
Check the address you entered.

Google app not connecting

Hello
Sometimes ( 1 or 2 times per day), my google app are buggy : I do have wifi or mobiledata connection, but google play or google map behave as there wasn't any : google play show a blank page with an infinite loading, google map show the preloaded map, but can't load anything more or can't make any search....
If I try swipe to see the left panel, my avatar isn't there and is replaced with google default avatar...
Of course if I access google map or play via the browser, everything work...
To fix this, I must manually "force stop" google play service, or reboot.
I am root but these occured before rooting, I have already tried wipe with no success

Weather on lock screen and "your connection was interrupted" msg

Who is knowledgeable here. I can't seem to find any answers or figure this out myself.
Problem 1. Used to have P2, now have P3.... Both don't show weather on lock screen. P3 did for a brief time when I was setting it up and then it was gone. I have another phone Pixel XL on a different account and it does show weather. Phones have mostly identical software, security patches, and settings. And yes, Location History is enabled.
Problem 2. So I recently discovered that when ever I connect to my own VPN or Project Fi VPN, I get the error msg briefly "your connection was interrupted" "network charge detected", websites load after that. Clearing cache for Chrome did nothing. Went to advanced menu, flushed DNS... also nothing. The second I turn off VPN.... No more error.
No one knows well neither does Google
