Backlight trouble with HTC t5353 clone Diamond 2 - General Topics

Hello everyone. I wasn't sure where to post this issue so hopefully this is the right place.
I own a HTC Diamond 2 clone I purchased from ebay. It has WM 6.1 installed. Everything works just fine except for a backlight problem I can't control. Unfortunately when I manually turn off the screen or when the phone actually dims the screen to complete black for inactivity it somehow turns itself back to full brightness after 2 seconds. I've tried everything in the settings but nothing helps. I've made sure there are no applications running that could be initiating it to turn on. I'm at a total loss...and my battery dies within hours obviously since it won't stop turning itself on.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Any ideas? Please help i'm desperate.
Thanks

u cent stop it by turning your screen brightnes to 50% or above (using palm bult in brightness program (press function button (the white spot) + "P" ))

woohoo! problem solved, thanks man!
My Voda WM6 works fine with backlight set to 40%
Sigh...I should have come here to see the solution first before I hard reset my phone.
I got the same problem, but I perform a hard reset to resolve it.
Guys I posted this on another thread here but I thought I'd mention it here as well just in case you guys can help me out.
I have my Treo 750v to connect to the net and check for emails every 30 minutes but whenever it does, the screen comes on!
Is there anyway I can get around this?
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Stupid as it sounds, this does appear to be a bug in the Treo WM6 update. It's still there in 2.23 VF as well. If you have Keyguard set to kick in at screen off and you set the brightness to anything other than 20% or 60% (at least for me) then the screen keeps turning on and often won't turn off after the 1 minute timeout. Got mine at 60% and its fine.

Screen does not go off....

not sure why but as soon as the timer for the screen kicks in it turns right back on.....anyone have suggestions?
Unlocked ATT 750 with ATT leaked WM6.
It is something to do with the brightness setting. Put it 40% or more.
Hello
I've got a Treo 750v with the latest WM6 installed and I'm getting the same problem too. I've got it set so that after 2 minutes, it turns off, but instead of doing so, the password screen comes on and stays lit till I put it to standby manually!
The other problem is, I've got mine to auto connect and check for messages via GPRS, and whenever it does this, the screen turns on and never turns off again.
I've had to turn this feature off else when I wake up, in the morning or even during the day when I'm at work, I find that this kills the battery!
Any ideas?
Thanks

I ocasionally have the same problem, I do a soft-reset when it happens.
I couldn't reproduce the problem, but when it happens again I'll investigate the brightness setting...
It really is the brightness-setting...
Isn't that redicioulus?

Backlight not working

Hi I recently received an xdaII with windows mobile 5 on it.
However the backlight wasn't working, even if I try to hold down the power button.
Also when I try vjeschaton to toggle it on or off (the other functions work) it doesn't work, could the phone be damaged or do I need to re do the rom somehow?
(ie the backlight auto switched off when the battery and backup battery went down but on recharge a bug prevented the light coming on again)
any ideas people?
further problems now, I have tried installing xda II rom Xda_II_172187_Final and its predecessor and unfortunately it wont work, its stuck at the
USB v1.06 message page it seems I have problems updating it, maybe due to vista maybe due to active synch maybe due to something else... any ideas?
Resoved the 1.06 Problem, looked like it was a vista/versioning problem with activesynch
But the backlight is STILL NOT WORKING!
I know the light function is being selected because the other buttons light up, just not the backlight for the LCD
anyone got any ideas?
sounds like the lcd backlight "lamp" died to me

Front keypad back light will not turn off

Hi to everyone!
First of all a big thank you to all of you! You have been of great help with different situations I had my several Smartphone.
I will call for your help once more, and any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
I have using my s710 with no major issues so far (or, issues that I ws unable to take care of with some of your help), but since 2 days ago it started doing something strange: the external keypad backlight won't turn off.
The screen backlight turns off on the specified time, and it also goes off (completely black) properly also, and the internal QWERTY keyboard as well (it turns the backlight off along with the screen one), but the external keypad ramains on, sometimes completely, and other times, dimmer than usual (the difference seems to be random, and if it goes dimmer, it goes to normal and back to dim regularly).
I have already tried different power settings, incluiding the light sensor on and off, with the same result. Also, I have resetted the phone to factory settings, but the situation remains the same.
I went through the Registry saerching for a setting, but I was unable to find anything.
Maybe some of you had this issue before, or knows a reg key I missed and can give me some assistance on this.
Nest step would be open the device to see if this has to do with the hardware, but I really prefer to run out of other options before going that way.
Once again, any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Grazie mille per il link, per fortuna parlo l' italiano abbastanza bene
Now, back to english for other users benefit:
Thank you for the link!
I have downlaoded and installed the app, and the blinking seems to be gone. However, when the backlight of the screen goes off, the the keypad backlight goes dimmer, but stays on.
Any other ideas?
Hy! after almost two years of using my Vox, I encountered the same problem since 2 days ago. Please let me know if you got your problem resolved and how. I flashed a couple of Rom-s but neither have effect for this keypad back light isssue. So did you managed to find out what is causing this or how to resolve? Awaiting for answers Cheers from Romania
Hi Blacksto! I must say that the issue seems to be almost gone now. The lkeypad light is almost all the time off when it's supossed to, and when is on, it is very dim. I got used to it I guess... I don't think that it is being caused by software anyway. My guess that this is being caused by the light detector. If you find anything out, please post it!
ok, I disabled that option to not charge during connection, meantime I flashed my vox again, that helped, because now its not on all the time but it somekinda blinks when it wants to... I,m trying to flash it one more time to see if it helps. also i disassembled my phone with the help of the service manual, cleaned it, but no help over here. be back with more news.
I found the same problem yesterday. I can't turn it off anyway. Any new sugestions?

Peculiar backlight problem asus p535 help

Hello
I have Asus p535 Recently I have changed my PDA motherboard due to some problems. While doing That Asus gave me a free upgrade to WM6
Now after 2 months I have a peculiar probleem
My backlight does not turn up when I press the active button. Sometiomes it just flickers . Most of the time it does not turn up and I cannot use the phone
However the backlight turns on when I get an incoming call. Like wise when I do hard reset or soft rset it turns un until the windows mobile logo and goes off as soon as the Today screen turns up.
Sometimes like a mind of its own. The backlight will turn turn up normally and I can use my phone. Nowadays I have disabled turning backlight off and use the HOLD buttom to turn it off so once it turns on it remains on. However the problem still remains
To summarize in few lines
1>Backlight turns on when hard reset and reamijs till WINDOWS MOBILE logo appears and dims and turns off as soon as today screen is loaded
2>The backlight wont tuirn on with any input . Sometimes it just flickrs on and off
3<When i receive incoming call the backlight turns on and works normally
4>sometimes the backlight after flickering may turn on and the phone works perfectely for 3-4 days
I want yo ask few questions
1>Is this a hardware problem as i suppose it isnt coz phone works fine with incoming calls
2>If its a software problem is it BIOS related
3>If its software related do I need to reinstall WM6 and upgrade/ downgrade BIOS
4>Is this battery realted. however my battery does not drain fast inspite of it being 1300mah
5>My warranty is expired so any thing which can solve my problem with self help is appreciated
6> Should i upgrade to 6.1 or android as explained by some in these forums as i personally feel my problem to be wm6 related as many have complained of lock screens

Dissemble the pda and take LCD in your hand.
turn back the lcd and heat up the 2 way on the right side.
4 way is touch screen and 2 ways on the very right are lcd light.
