Hi All.
Can any of the clever members mod the HTC SENSE Calender to allow 'tap and hold' of an entry to bring up the menu (eg. edit, delete) directly.... this will save a couple of clicks.
Cheers.
heh, that's EXACTLY what I would need to free myself form the old pocketoutlook calendar, and reactivate the calendar tab of manila.
If it stays like it is now, it's just useless eyecandy, not to mention how clicking on any empty day in week view doesn't bring you anywhere, while I would expect it to open the relevant day, even if empty.
Not to talk about day selection dialogue, if you are unlucky enough to need selecting a day, say, 10 years in the future or in the past (don't ask me why, it could happen) you need to pass throught 120 animations of scrolling months, pressing 120 times on the up/down arrows, instead of being able to directly select the year.
But I seriously doubt anyone will be able to change that part of manila..
even if its not the manila calendar, you may have a look at mvcal or download it from here

there's 2 problems with that... it's pay software and it has a initially complex interface. WHat I'm looking for is not really anything special, it should have been in the device already, and could be defined as either one of the following:
1) a vanilla pocket outlook retaining its current functions, but with a way more finger friendly interface
or
2) a manila calendar keeping the current interface, but with all the functions that the vanilla pocket outlook calendar has
Now, as I hear WM 6.5.5 has a finger friendlier interface (my custom rom is 6.5.2 based), I don't know if 6.5.5's pocket outlook has a different interface closer to what I need, I would like to have confirmations

Simple request
Does anybody know of a simple utility that can incorporate Tasks into Pocket Outlook. Tasks then will be intergrated into the calander and will use the appointment screen to set a task. Also this utility should manage to display a full weeks appointments and task in sequence - not seperated.
Thanks in anticipation

There's a free today screen plugin that shows combined tasks and appointments...
http://tiews.info/index.php?show=software/todayagenda
I've given up on it for now but it seemed to work ok. Not as advanced as other plugins like PocketBreeze but much lower overhead associated with using it.
Have reverted back to standard plugins even though they are pretty pathetic since the plugin didn't seem to cope with orientation switching too well - an annoyance when using it with a device with a slide out landscape keyboard.
PocketBreeze for Me!!
I can't comment on TodayAgenda, as I've never tried it. I found it on these forums after purchasing PocketBreeze. But, from everything I've read about it on that thread, it's a very good program.
However, I WILL say that I LOVE PocketBreeze, and it would be virtually impossible (IMO) to find anything that even comes close. It does exactly what the OP wanted, plus more. It's the only plugin I use on my Today Screen, and it allows for Custom tabs to be set for other plugins, as well. So, I have iLauncher, Pocket Weather and Spb Time integrated into PB as custom tabs and from that can access virtually everything on my Wizard from the Today Screen through Pocket Breeze.
There's a 14 day free trial period, but I was sold on it after only 3 days and bought it. Others may have different views, but for me -- it's the BEST!!
I've use both todayAgenda and pocketbreeze. For the price of todayAgenda, there isnt really much to 'complain' about, other than the fact that, it doesn't display tomorrow as 'Tomorrow', which is quite annoying (that it lowered the importances of the task/schedule).
Anyway, I'm using pBreeze now and no complain so far. It is highly customizable which others may find annoying, but if you want to have full control on your display, go for it. I so wish I get commission for selling this software
Check new todayAgenda 0.95 beta and check spbDiary with better phone contacts handling (hardware keyboard) than pocketBreeze.
Thanks everybody.
TodayAgenda works well for me. Exactly what I wanted.

Yea, I would also like to know the complete Changelog between 6.0 and 6.1
Thanks in advance.
Copy / Paste (finally!)
Domain Enroll in Settings (Enrolling in a domain will connect your device with company resources.)
New home screen (pan left and right to check out missed calls, notifications like email, sms, etc.)
Change Master Security Code
Added text input settings
Recent Programs when pressing Start menu Threaded SMS!
When you compose an email, or SMS, and start typing the name of the contact in the "To:" field, the contact names finally pop up like Windows Mobile Professional!
Internet Explorer now lets you define a homepage, and also zoom in and out using a nice and clean interface
advantages ofcource!
...and video performance is better.. a little.. but thereĀ“s a difference
Better Bluetooth performance. Better reception (at least for me, running sleuth v3 with radio 1.64.08.21). Threaded SMS (not sure I like it, can't delete without going back to home sms/mms message screen). Device seems more responsive. Canconnect to domain resources, Program Management?, Better task/process manager....
But really more like upgrade to second edition, than full upgrade. But it does seem to be better.

Finally question - battery?
It's something new with battery performance in WM6.1?

I would have to say there is better battery life than in WM6.
Mainly because of the Radio's etc.
When I am in a 3G area and on the phone I would see my battery diminish quite significantly. Now it goes down just a little faster than with EDGE/GPRS.

First, that interface you talk about isn't there bub. That interface is called Manilla & that's only for VGA SP's & PIE is exactly the same interface as always. Just a zoom feature has been added + you've been able to set your homepage since PPC2002.
The changes aren't that grand. Unless you really know how to mod & hack the device stick with 6.0 for now. If you really must try it, then I suggest using Sleuth's V3.0 WM6.1. It's the best of 'em in my opinion & the network setup is automated. It's also a very clean ROM.

actually that interface he refered to is actually the interface for the wm6.1 for smartphones, not for manila. that whole list is actually the list of changes for smartphones, not mw6.1 professional
boo. Allows to be charged seperately for using phone as modem for a computer. I'm sure there will be some way around that.
(at last) the ability to set your own homepage in Internet Explorer, plus you can now zoom into pages and the interface has been cleaned up.
Hi all,
Since last monday I am also the proud owner of the touch pro from HTC.
It's certanly a big change coming from the wizard, I have 2 of them in case my new phone stops working.
But what I like to know is: is it possible to add more than 15 favs in the touchflo 3d interface?
Hope someone can help me
Request also
Same here, mate.
I would also like to see an unlimited amount of favorites in the Tflo3d contacts tab. It wouldn't be called favorites than anymore but just Contacts Tab!
See my pro's and con's with the Raphael, both hardware and software. This one you can add to the software list disadvantages.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420252
Anyhow, if anybody has an idea, please write it here!
Greetz Pallemans
Anybody got back to you on this one. I will also like to add more favorites.
i'm 99% sure its not possible.
According to HTC manual, fifteen (15) is the maximum.
Though I am sure that someone will come up with a tweak
Fact of the matter is:
It's not possible with current version of TF3D. Not even a tweak or a registry setting.
Hopefully in a new update of TF3D or perhaps TouchXperience will have this capability!
We'll wait and see what happens, hoping developers will know about these user wishes.
Regards....
If you're going to have that many favorites, isn't that the same as WM Contacts app? Why even bother with Favorites?
Maybe you'll actually looking for call groups like how Nokia has them?
Nu,
I have about 200 contacts, 15 favorites of 200 wont cut it. At least give me 40. I dont expect unlimited, 200 favorites is just ridiculous and you are right on that one. But 15, I mean, I have more than 15 customers that I have to call, to go throught all contacts or voice command (which I have to repeat like 5 times before I give up). I am sure its just a variable somewhere with a fixed value that can be changed. I wish I could see that code behind it.
Yes, Lol is right.
15 fav's is just not enough. Your pathetic if you only have 15 dear friends and families.
I already have 15 best friends, no room for parents, brothers, other direct families and close collegues.
I believe if I speak to most off us, that, what we like to see is the Contacts tab showing just 15 fav's needs a complete makeover in where the user gets to choose he/she wants to have only XX number of fav's shown, OR the entire list of contacts, including some sort of alphabetic scrollbar on top.
TF3D is meant for quick usage of your most actions on a phone, like calling contacts, reading sms/email, browse photos, listen to music, select communications like BT, and quicklinks to programs. That's why TF3D has all these tabs, so you don't have to find your way through WM start menu. So now when trying to dial one, and go to contacts tab, and it's not in my fav's, then theres to much action needed to get the contact I want. (press more, scroll down etc.)
Like I said earlier, it should become a choice for users. Fav's or entire contacts list. And perhaps the 2 buttons left and right bottom corner could be like 'New contact' and right: 'Search contact'
It just an idea.
the developers making TouchXperience are in the right direction, I'm still waiting for their first release which is taking very long. They need to expand and let Beta users help them finish the product.
Regards

I am having the same problem. I was really put out when I was adding my contacts and the add a favorite option was gone. I hope someone comes up with a way around this. I unfortunately have no programing skills...much respect to those who do, you make my fuze sing
Hi,
I actually have a Polaris Touch Crusie (the first one) and am running a nonstandard operating system.
I have been looking on and off for months, and all i basically want, is the color categories in wm6.1 calander to show up, that i have set on desktop outlook 2007. My search fu may not be the greatest, but i have tried google many times, and i personally do not have to the time to go thru the entire xda forums and every thread. I really can't seem to find anything.
I really don't want to go the hassle of a completely different calendar program on the PDA, because i am so intergrated with Outlook 2007. I really don't want to mess up my outlook integration and deal with a bunch of work arounds if possible.
Are colors on the calandar, by chance part of wm6.5? anyone got anything. Is there a registry hack to do this (add color cats to wm6.1)?
Could the be done with a some hack (or code mod) to basic calander, and pasted into a custom rom from someone else, then loaded with a kitchen program, i think? (i hope that was the right phrasing)
anyone got any advice or help?
Thanks
Lol, you want an answer but dont have time to search for one hence asking (joke)
Anyway, basically this cannot be done using 6.1,6.5 ms calender app. If you want this function there are 3rd party apps that can show calender categories and that intergrate quite well.
Our devices have to restrict functionality of their desktop equivilents due to storage and processing restrictions, otherwise they just wouldnt run on a pocket device (hence the phrase)
Cheers.
Need help. I'm having problems making/receiving calls on my Tilt 2 and I'm thinking of upgrading. I am having a lot of problems just finding answers to some basic questions about the options available. Being a long time user of Win Mobile, I'm leaning to the WP7. Some questions that I have are:
1. Text entry. Sliding keyboard aside (I'm thinking of the Samsung Focus) is there a transcriber program? I take notes during meetings, etc., and presently either use the keyboard on the Tilt, or a 'Phatware' transcriber program.
2. Backward compatability. Will WM6.5 aps work on the new WP7? Programs like eReader, Laridian Books, Platware, etc.?
3. Is there the ability to import a Contact to a new appointment on the Calendar? Not being able to do this on the Tilt 2 has been a real pain!
4. Is there a stylis?
5. Can you watch a missed TV show from CBS, A&E, or Fox.com?
As I said, these are simple (hopefully, not stupid) questions, and thanks for what ever help or opinions are offered.
1. Microsoft OneNote to take notes. There is no handwritting recognition, just virtual keyboard (for Focus).
2. No.
3. ?
4. No.
5. Several 3rd party apps are either available or in development to watch TV shows and old seasons.
3. The calender provides the option to specify required and optional attendees for an appointment if this is what you mean.
Is the OneNote the only application? I was under the impression that Office was included, which has Word and Excel.
Also, there is some confussion about what I ment with question #3. On my Tilt 2, when creating a new appointment, there is no way to pull a name off of my Contacts list. I have to re-type the name as a new appointment, with no cross link. This has always been a real pain, and something that I can not understand why a business friendly platform can't do. In the original Tilt, you could pull up a Contact, and had a menu function that would allow you to create an new appointment with that contact, but not with the Tilt 2. This is something so simple that even my old Palm M100 would do.
An observation, it certainly appears that all platforms are full of bells and whistles, while leaving the solid old PIM functions out. Maybe I need to go back to my Franklin Planner, and a simple flip phone......
Thanks for the info. From what it sounds like, I won't be going to WP7. I'll have to look at the android/iPhone, to see if one of them will work for me.
Thanks again....

android and iphone will be the same as wp7 in all those aspects.
the only advantage goes to android which can watch those tv shows (android has flash) but wp7 will be getting flash soon too, so it will be able to soon. iphone will never have flash.
