I have my new Diamond Pro and when I receive a SMS message from a person i already send text messages to it comes up under a separate message (not threaded) with their phone number and not their name? Has anyone else come across this and what was the fix?
Haven't seen a fix for this but i know i send pics to facebook all the time and i've got a long thread going that includes all the pics i've sent. i just insert it as an attachment and send but yah, i know what you're talking about.
go to Settings => System and check text messaging . make sure it says threaded .
umm.. it already is.. this is a problem with just receiving pic mail..
Are you on Sprint and are you talking about the Touch Pro or the Touch Diamond?

I have the same problem. Mine is on the AT&T network though.
This also seems to happen when sending and receiving SMS emails or pict messages. The message reply comes from a different address -- something like 101010045. Strangely, replying to this address still works, but it screws up the threading. Kind of annoying.
oh here is the deal.. i did a backup from my mogul to the diamond using pim backup and it moved the folders around..
i did a hard reset and now i have a pic mail folder in my mail. the MMS is threaded seperately from the SMS which is cool but sucks.. I would rather SMS and MMS be linked in the same folder like it worked on my mogul.
now i have to go and search for when prople send me pics in that folder :-( rather than it just be in the SMS threaded history.. does anyone have a fix for this? or even cares..??
I don't have a Touch Pro or a Fuze, waiting for the Fuze to come out, but I do have a WM6.1 Blackjack II and I found the threaded SMS to kind of be a pain. It took a while to load each thread and for some reason didn't look as crisp as the normal 1 message for each screen.
Do the normal threaded SMS on the Touch Pro load well? Look ok?
Any solutions yet?
Has anyone found a solution to this yet? I'm having the same problems as the TC. All sms I send and receive are threaded. Even mms I send are threaded along with the sms. Only when someone sends me a mms does each one gets separated into separate threads. Is there anyway to solve this issue?

I did a search and could not find anything about this.
When I send a mms message usign someone email, any sms message to that same person goes to an email also.
I have then start a new thread and send to there phone number to make it work right again.
Anyway that stop that from happening. I never had that issue before the threading texting.

I've been searching the forums for the past hour but can't find anything with a similar problem so I thought it was worth asking here.
I have somebody who i send a lot of sms messages back and forth to and twice now, suddenly my phone says I have no messages before the last one i just sent to them or received from them. If I look in sent items, all my sent messages show and if I turn off threaded sms then all received ones show in my inbox. I have no idea why they claim to not exist when threading is turned on again. Even deleting some messages doesn't make the older sms' show again in threaded. Any ideas?
I am using an Xperia X1 with stock WM 6.1 on the v2 rom. I had the problem on the v1 rom also.
Any ideas anyone?
About a month ago while sending/receiving my normal volume of text messages my TF3D message alert said I had 2 messages. I checked my messages and there was no new messages
The little orange box has said I have 2 new messagews now for about a month. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and if so if you know of a fix for this.
Im running the updated HTC Rom so hopefully its not that.

Hi I have a problem with my Magic and Desire, they have trouble receiving SMS's sent trough a SMS gateway.
The issue I got is that I only receive ether a small part of the SMS or none at all(To the naked eye).
I'm supposed to receive a SMS every day from the company I work for.
But they say I do receive the SMS and they get confirmation from my phone.
I'm receiving other SMS fine from family and friends.
I once received half the message but after I tried to open it I was sent back to the overview(The SMS auto closed).
Another time I received the SMS and I opened it, and I was able to read half of what should had been there but after I closed the SMS it was gone.
My Desire running stock 2.1 and my Magic running 1.5, 1.6 or 2.1 are all acting the same way.
So I'm thinking theres a problem with the way android is handling SMS.
Maybe it(Android) considers the SMS for corrupted or malicious.
Is there anyone that is experiencing anything like this or know a way to fix it?
I have a similar problem on my G1 with different ROMs, for instance Cyanogen and COS-DS. Some SMS reach me, some just get dropped silently :-(
