hi,
just now i got this baby (p4350) from my brother.. i want to upgrade it.. it has wm6.0.. i will use all features of this mobile and i want a good/clean rom file which has good touch features and all windows features.. (English file) i am from india.. i am new to this world but have good experience in flashing sony ericsson mobile so this baby wont be a problem or me.. i will learn.. just i need rom file..
it should have ltos of features (touch) and i should be able to install java games ans softwares in it (in current wm6.0 i am able to install but not play.. ).. so please guide me to how to get rom files..
How about I make you a custom ROM.. Check out my TribU2U ROMs and let me know which style you would like.. I have three ROMs total.. And then we can work out details for what you want under the hood.. If ya like what I do for ya you can buy me a beer , lol..
looking for fre service.. anyone please guide me to how to get those rom..
Lol. I was kidding about that. Anything you get from cooks on XDA is free.
Just download the HardSPL folder and run the 3 cab files in that folder and then run the RomUpdateUtility.
Then take out that .nbh file in the HardSPL folder and put a ROM of your choice in and run the RomUpdateUtility again..

make that two of us. i have a dopod c800 and would like to upgrade it to something higher. don't mind buying someone a beer either as long as its not some fancy imported sheet

What for a ROM you´re trying to cook? Which application included? How much free space in the ROM?
Which Autoconfiguration?
Stefan
If you are cooking a 2002 rom make sure you leave some space.

Lumpi , First of all thanks for your Kitchen and ur hard work..
but the last time I was cooking a rom (last week) T mobile Rom 4.01.00 with the Windows Mobile Boot screen image and the 4.01.16 with the o2 Boot screen those images didn't show up I got instead T-mobile bootscreen.
At the end the Rom what's important to me but still there should be some fix for that, Thank you again for the Kitchen I hope to see soon the WM2003 SE in it hopefully.
I was trying to cook the rom 3.17.03 ENG O2-Euro.
the gauge for the free space was about 300k left after configuring the software of the rom.

Ok. I made an hint, that with the XDA-Developers Autoconfig you have to let about 450kB free for cooking. I'm sorry, that i can't change this. Then it should work. The error of the missing config files will still be there. This is more work for me. But it should only concern the german autoconfiguration...

I had a lot of problems cooking ROMs because the languages are in other languages:
In Pocket PC kitchen I cooked 3.17.03 ENG O2-Euro, which as mentioned in its name should be in English, but it turned out to be in French!
In the Pocket PC 2003 kitchen I cooked 4.01.00 ENG beta which also should be in English but is in German.
Is there something I am not setting up correctly?

I'm sorry, but i can't believe this. Have you tried to look at the log after cooking the rom? There is an output of the BAse Rom you cooked.
Many Users are using the kitchen, but i never heard of this problem. Which browser are you using?
Stefan
My brawser is IE 6.0.2800
It is very strange because i tried not only once but several times cooking both roms and upgrading them to the phone, but with the same result.

This is true. Tried it now for myself, but all was working fine.
Used same browser version, and all worked fine....

What can i do now?
I cannot remove the French ROM. When I am trying to upgrade it with another ROM it says Unsupported language 'FRA'.
Can you suggest how i might fix this.
P.S. - the ROM i want to backup to is in the *.exe format
I think, you have to use adapt rom, or flash your device using an SD-Card. Therefor you have to extract the exe-File with winzip, and copy the NK.nbf file via xdatools to an SD-Card.
There are many threads about this..
Stefan
I managed to do it successfully. Thank you very much for your help!
I also would like to ask you if there is a way to install programs from your kitchen without burning a ROM, that is if I can somehow install them to my phone on its present ROM.

Kitchen should also work for XDA2 ROMS. But in the moment, there are only XDA1 Roms in it. Also you normally don't have the nessesary of doing this since the XDA2 has enough space.....

U can do it with, but first u have to repack OS.nb to nk.nbf
no need of Upgrade_rom.bat
first Try some basic steps like extracting/rebuilding without any change.

For ROM Prophet, when U run DUMP_ROM it extract file 80040000-OS_0.nb insteed of 80040000-OS.nb. You can edit this file name in DUMP_ROM.bat file
Goodluck.

When I have a list of files of extension rom, how can I make it to a

Do I need to use Winimage tool? Or what tool should I use?

Wow, this kitchen is extremely easy to use. Cheers to the maker.
I experimented with Aserg Os.nb and Smart1 Os.nb, edited them and flashed the roms.
Is it possible to cook a Wm6 Rom using the RUU, and flashing from the bootloader instead of the standby mode used in Smart1 rom.

well i think its ur typing mistake but RUU is for flashing not 4 cooking.
As 4 as i 'v experienced, i could not succeed with any cooked aku higher than 2.2 which results in successful boot of device even flashing always succeed with standard RUU.
and beside that same cooked Roms easily flashed with pdocwrite method
(standby mode) and device booted well in every case, even with faria's wizard Rom
So i think RUU workes flawless with shiped Roms (or better u say 'OS')
and with any other component IPL/SPL/LOGO/Splash/Extrom.
For cooked Roms ( OS) u have to rely on pdocwrite
(please correct me seniors if im wrong)

Thanks Nandlal. Yea i realized that for cooked roms, pdocwrite is the way. RUU just made the flashing look easier
thx for your advice
I always take the WM6 ROMs and make an RUU install image of it and I have had no problems at all. The only issue is when the ExtROM is in the form of files and not an image. (The you must use the PDOC utils, which means you must be at AKU 2.2 first)

Everyone of them has a readme!!! If you look in my sig below, you will find the one that was done for the Faria kitchen!
if at this point, you have absolutely no idea what anything is, you should NOT be building a ROM yet. you need to read up on it it first. Go to Molski.biz and go to the How To's. This will give you a good explanation of the tools that are used and the things that go into it. Good luck.

Hi guys,
If you want to make your own Rom for your i617, just follow these steps:
1. Get these runtimes and install on your PC (Windows XP): vcredist_x86.exe and NetCF 2.0
2. Get the the kitchen: [SamSung i617] kitchen, then extract to any where you want.
3. Get the original AT&T WM6.1 for i617 (only OS part), then put into BaseBin folder in the kitchen: The original Rom AT&T WM6.1 for i617 only OS file (pda.bin)
4. Now let you start to make the kitchen work:
- Run Dump [pda.bin].cmd then wait to complete.
- Get the file: initflashfiles.dat, then put into OEM\OEM_Lang_0409
Done. Now you can cook anything you like, after cooking, just run Build [pda.bin].cmd to rebuild the new Rom (in RomUpdate folder).
There is a guide to update Rom in the Attatchment.
But note that:
- Maybe some of PCs have some problems (cause virus or any reason), it can't show full hidden files. Just install fresh Windows XP again to fix it.
- To port the newer version of build, let you have to learn Here
And the last, I did sell my SamSung i617 to change a new toy
Sorry for my bad English.
Good luck.
Thanks for the kitchen, downloading now
Update clean Rom. See attachment at post #1.

Exactlly. The g'reloc.exe can't relocate resover module, but if you skip g'reloc and edit some module, device not boot. Thanks for your report.
More: Did you port build 20282 from ROSE? I did port full XIP and SYS, Free Ram on boot is 83Mb, but low speed, not smooth.
resover is not needed..
porting htc sys should be ok.. but its too much trouble if you want a perfect stable rom

I have tried the kitchen, and dump is ok.But it makes some errors when building . I tried to only run buildos, but failed!
It seems that an older version could run correctly, which I used in a X51v kitchen. So does it need some other files? like .net 3.0 or 3.5. I just installed a 2.0 version

I had a similar issue on an older device and had to completely remove all iGo files, then just put back the newest ones because I had so many different builds that it was conflicting with everything.
Make sure you install from 2577 folder on root of SD card and put all resource files into iGo folder on root of SD card.
Also check your Sys.txt for errors.
