k ill get it.
I like MooZone. You upload the music from your computer (2GB free) and you can play it from anywhere you have data (or save it if you know you wont have data). Saves space on the SD card. Has a playlist feature you can create playlists straight from the phone. even displays album art, which was a nice surprise
Thanks alot! I do appreciate it very much and solves alot of headache.
Also sorry for the late replies. Theres a 5 min wait time
DO A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST

It's no need to convert it in wav.Mp3 format is also fine: just copy it in windows folder.

G-Alarm
The application that i like to use on my TG01 is G-alarm. I think i got it off the marketplace.
anyway you pay £5 one time only and then its yours, ive also managed to re-install it onto other phones i have using my key.
this is by far the best alarm which you can set to ask you upto 16 questions to switch it off
just a good idea so you dont go back to sleep or forget
and just to add to this, referring back to your mp3s, G-alarm will be able to use them as long as they are saved onto your SD card!
I'm wondering what app ppl are using to download mp3's on theory android devices. I've been using gtunes but am starting to see it not finding mainstream music. Also not thrilled with its permissions.
What's the best app for downloading free music?

Any input would be great, Thx

I doubt you will get too much help with that here, seeing as most of those apps are legally questionable... not sure that helps

Thanks, i used to use that too. I have been using gtunes but i think more often than not it doesnt find what im looking for, which is mainstream. I have since downloaded "Free Music Download" (orange icon white headphones as the icon) and it works better.
I've discovered a method of using the web browser xscope to download the music files via mediafire or megupload. In Google type, site:mediafire.com (artist name) (album name). Packages usually come in the form of .zip or .rar files but also as .Mp3 for single files. Pick the link of the files you want and allow it to finish downloading. You will need a .zip and/.rar expander to reveal the .Mp3 files in the album. I use the app, android zip.UnzipLite and unrar, both found in the market. You will need to navagate your SD card to find the files located in the xscope download folder with one of the two applications. Place files into the media/audio folder on your SD. I hope you guys try this out it works quite well for me and never really have to worry about syncing to get a new album on my phone.

Does anyone get annoyed with this ics bug since they upgraded to ics?
My photo Gallery is now displaying all photos and images on my Xoom, even thumbnail images from all my app folders and music folders. All of sudden, my gallery now has over thousand of images instead only photos from DCIM folder.
Does anybody know any way to work around this? Is there a filtering option in the settings somewhere?
Btw, I'm still on official ics, unrooted.

from what I understand
I think you need to make a file called (dot)nomedia or .nomedia and put it in any folder you don't want to show up in the gallery. I could be thinking of something else, but I'm pretty sure that's how you do it. That would require you to be rooted though I believe.

Thanks for the tips guys
@liftman-, Will first try your method, seems to be easiest to way out for now for me
@dtrud0h, My Xoom is fairly new, not brave enough wipe it yet. Been reading up the Root procedures @XDA though, but I think you guys are doing a fabulous job. Will take the plunge once i'm sick of the stock ICS. Cheers!
Even with an unrooted Xoom, I believe that you can still add the .nomedia file to any accessible folders (not in the system area). Without root and an app to explore further (like Root Explorer), one should still be able to explore the user folders and create the file. Maybe the easiest way would be to connect to a PC or laptop, create the file on your PC then copy it to the needed folders that you can access. No doubt using quickpic is simpler but you should be able to drop some .nomedia files if needed without root.
Now is the best time to root anyway! Once you've had it for a while, got it all set up exactly the way you want, personalized just for you then you'll really hate to root and start all over from scratch. If you plan to root, just take the plunge! You'll be glad later when you don't have to redo every little setting PLUS Team EOS has done so much more for us that Google and Motorola ever have or ever will! Plenty of good folks here to help you out if you get into trouble but the process has been pretty easy and painless by our devs. Just my opinion anyway...whatever works for you!

I have the same problem on my Xoom running OTA ICS, but worse, my gallery app is ignoring .nomedia files and still displaying the media files.
I found a support ticket here that indicates the problem has been fixed with a patch --> AOS .nomedia patch
Wonder if this has been fixed in any of the custom ROMS?

Dear Skyrocket Community,
I have music stored on my external SD and playlists associated with the music. Is there any way to keep the playlists intact when I switch over to a new rom? I am currently on stock rooted 2.3.6 but will flash Sky ICS once I have an answer to this. Thanks

Generally speaking, the program you used to create playlist has 2 components you can safeguard with a well chosen backup program.
They are the apk that runs the music program, and the program's (user generated) data. Your playlists are in the second category, along with specific settings options you chose.
If you install (an identical or a compatible version of) the same program under a new rom flash, you can then optionally restore the related data you backed up. I would ignore the backed up program and reload it from the Play store, then restore data. This assumes a third party music program as opposed to a cooked in one, which might not be as flexible.
You should have a nandroid anyway, so it might be easy enough to experimentally:
back up the program and data for your music library
add a short new playlist, clear (music) program caches and data
uninstall and reinstall the program
restore the backed up data that includes the extra playlist
If successful, you will know that this worked in your current rom. If ICS changes that, your nandroid resets the whole experiment.
You want to import/export your playlist? That should be easy if you find the file the playlist is stored in. It may just be in simple txt. As a playlist is not actually music, its just a list that states what order you want your music to play in.
An example may be:
sdcard/external sd/music/bobseger_turnthepage.mp3
sdcard/external sd/music/kidrock_cowboy.mp3
etc.
etc.
Thats how most playlists are created and stored. Very simple, small file. Now this post may be completely usless to you as I dont know the file or if for certain thats the senerio. But it is the case in most music players for PC. And its extremely simple so it makes sense. Maybe I pointed you in the right direction to look. I hope so...I dont want to waste your time.
I already flashed the rom , but I have a Nandroid from before. Could I look at the files on my computer and possibly find the playlist and copy it to my SD card?
Sent from my soon to be rooted I727
MyBackup Pro from the market backs up "Music Playlist". I've never had any playlists to back up, so I can't comment on the feature. I can only tell you that it's there.

Hi, (sorry for approx. english speaking i'm realllllly tired at this time)
i was used to load music files into my device using windows explorer and it was good...
then i flushed all files, in order to listen to other songs, so i loaded new music files the same way, but Google Play Music acts as if there was nothing in the gallery...
Finally i've managed to make it work using an android file manager (moborobo).
I'm not ok with that because i would prefer not having to use that program and be able to transfer files directly with windows explorer, it's more simple and doesn't require to install third party app into my device...
If someone can help me with that i'd be grateful.
EDIT/solution:
ok, now i feel a little shameful for this post because the solution was (kind of) described in another forum...
----> a .nomedia file has been created in main storage (really don't know how!?) so...i don't even understand how the android file manager could add music in the gallery. Deleting this .nomedia file solved my issue, everything works as it should now. Really happy to uninstall moborobo!!!
I don't delete the message because it could help someone in the future (hope so).
