The Google Listen app Fast Forward button skips ahead 30 seconds and the Rewind button moves backwards 7 seconds per tap.
Unfortunately, it doesn't play MP3s not downloaded through Listen.
Is there any mp3 player app that has similar fast forward / rewind X second skipping per tap?
(I'm on Modaco's Desire ROM, and the default music app doesn't even have fast forward or rewind - AT ALL)

I was wondering if anyone knew of a better music player than htc's?
One of the main problems is searching for songs, scrolling takes a long time and if use the search button it repeats the song. Also I would like it to save my preferences on auto-loop and shuffle.
Was also wondering if what the best way to transfer music AND playlist from itunes to the evo.
And I have noticed my Ipod touch plays music much louder than my evo, is there any way to overide the sound cap?
Ok i have tried a couple of different music players (^3, winamp, etc) and im trying to find a music player that actually continually plays. Confused? Well for instance when the end of a song features the beginning of the next song they mix, however on android it pauses and goes to the next song having am awkward pause. The ipod series mixes the songs really well just wonderong for any insight
So basically to have both song mix seamlessly instead of be two different songs

I know what you mean. I haven't looked into it. Winamp, back in c.1995 was the first (I think) to put out this feature via plug-in that lets the next song fade in as the current song fades out. See if Winamp has a plug-in (or preference in the setting) on the Android app for that.

Check out the PowerAmp beta. I dunno if it has that fade in/out feature or not but it's supposedly a pretty kickass player.
Lithium player has that, called a cross fader. It's even adjustable.
When playing music downloaded from Subsonic through the Google Play Music app, the seekbar does not work and I'm not able to seek (fast forward or rewind) the song playing. The counter also just displays --:-- and does not work.
In my testing, I've noticed that simply moving a song to another folder then back fixes this for that album. So if you have an album with 10 songs, and you move just 1 to another folder like /Music then back, the entire album start to work correctly in Play Music. I've checked the permissions in Solid Explorer and they don't seem to be the culprit.
Is this a known bug? Is there a fix for it?

Never mind my question as I've just found all the option you mentioned - thanks for precise guidelines I'll have to use ff/rew buttons on smartphone as those on headset for volume up/down won't work here but it's bearable
I've got 4 or 5 thousand songs stored on the phone, and I listen to this stored music. I've tried a number of apps on the phone but haven't found one that allows me to fast forward/rewind while using the steering wheel buttons in the car (also doesn't with with dashboard radio buttons). Maybe there's an option for this but I haven't found it yet.
So far I've tried YouTube music, Music Player-A+, GoneMad, & Musicolet.
On a related note, YouTube music is almost useless for me as it seems to buffer for a minute or two at every startup, and then another 30 to 60 seconds between every song.

Just tried BlackPlayer. It does not interface with my car's controls.
You can try my UsbMode.apk to see if your steering wheel controls come through.
OTOH, the MediaSessionManager redirects KeyEvents based on which app currently has a media session.
USB Audio Pro works on my cars.
