Is it possible to change the default Messagaing icon to the following:

If you don't want to install the whole theme and you're not using an app to create shortcuts then you can modify ic_launcher_smsmms.png in mms.apk
I'm sure there is a better way to do this, but I don't know what it is so I've just modified the icons I want by changing them directly in the .apk's

Pull them from your phone with ADB and open them with a program like WinRar, and edit the images with a program like PhotoShop.

If your using ADW you can just add a custom shortcut, there are also other apps that will do this.
If you do want to get into modifying the apks to change/theme your apps here is a quick start. There is loads more information scattered throughout the forum but I couldn't find a complete guide (if someone knows where one is please let me know).
The easiest way to start is to use the one click root method (you need root to modify the apk's) and then download one of Chewitts Dark10 themes.
In the installer cmd file for the theme you can see examples of all the commands you'll need to do this (specifically in the app installation section).
Pull the apk to you're hard drive
Open the apk in 7zip and extract the images you want to change
Edit the images (in photoshop or a similar program)
Update the apk by dragging the images into the correct folder in 7zip
push the apk to your sd card and finally to the system/app folder
you'll need to make sure usb debugging is enabled and the SD card is not mounted.

Use ninjamorph.
Save the png on your SD and use ninjamorph to replace it.
Easiest solution imho.

Yep, forgot about ninjamorph, much easier (just don't be an idiot like me and attempt to update the framework - it's still the only time I've had to reflash my phone...)

Extracted the png from Enigma and used an ADW shortcut

[THEME] [APP] Myns Warm 2.2 Music Visualization Live Wallpaper

well i modded this hollow live wallpaper when android 2.2 first came out.. its the one live wallpaper i use constantly.. made it to match up with myns rom, but this will work for all roms i beleive.. they must be 2.2 tho... just take the zip and flash it thru clockwork or any recovery.. also can be flashed thru rom manager.. i tried to capture some drocaps but the quallity of the caps sucked.. if anyone gets a good screen of either version that be awesome..

Could'nt for the life of me find a 2.2 version, friend at work found this post!
We were failing at recompiling an apk from his phone (nexus S to Epic)..
Is there a line in one of the waveform.rs files that controls the color? -can I add more lines then 2 at once editing wafeform.rs? Hollow is best.

yeah, i'm not exactly sure.. to switch the coloring you just use a photo editing app. and recolor the png images it uses, they are in the apk.. try extracting the apk you will see.. i am searching for a 2.3.4 flash zip so i can get this installed on miui,,

The font is Darkstar/Coconut Font. It is found in the OP of this thread under "Other Optional Downloads" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809985

you can install a launcher or modify the icon inside all the apks of your applications.

You need to decompile the apk's with apk manager (need adb installed) then, in the decompiled apk, open it and go to /system/res/drawable-hdpi (or mdpi, if it's that), and look for the icon in there.

Easier way....copy those apps whose icons you want to change to your hard drive. change extensions from .apk to .zip and then go the /system/res/drawable-hdpi as mentioned above.

Thank you, very easily. Just go to uot.dakra.lt/ and follow the guide (HOW TO).
Basically you have to: chose the mod you like (not all of them works though - I've succeeded with battery, icons:emoticons and status bar (but not power buttons), popup, fonts (but not windows animations) and upload your: framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk, twframework-res.apk.* Kitchen will do everything for you. GO to PICKUP to receive your zip and flash it with cwm.
*You can get them with root explorer or via adb:
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb pull /system/framework/twframework-res.apk
adb pull /system/app/SystemUI.apk

Hi, I accidentally deleted accuweather apk from System/app folder (AccuWeatherDaemonService.apk)

Check second mod in OP here, look at the second link in it, you can have deodexed version with transparent or stock look.
If you are looking for just AccuWeatherDaemonService.apk and its .odex file, then I have attached it for you.

Widget kinda works, but not completely:
forecast is not showing and time is different between phone and widget
and when I press widget to open option, it forcecloses...

yes, permissions are correct. try some different mod for transparent weather, may be issue is with this particular mode only. You can find it in the link I provided above.

so I found simple solution: just flashed stock XXLRK ROM with PC Odin without wipe and factory reset and rooted again
than changed digital clock and samsungweather widgets to transparent...

Folder of "Navigation Bar" icons ? (png?) -nameless ROM-

Id like to know the location (folders) and filenames of the "Navigation Bar" icons (KitKat)
I know there are other solutions around, but Id like to change them manually (if possible)
-I was looking for SystemUI.apk in system/app already, but it is not there... ?
-system/framework has "framework-res.apk" which has various designs of the NavBar icons, but not those that are actually getting displayed
-The app "SoftKeyZ Root" changes "com.android.systemui" which should be a jar file ?
I got a Optimus 3D (p920) with nameless ROM (4.4.4) :

and nameless ROM does not seem to offer it.
Thats why I ask if I could find them (change them) in the folders/apks (if these exist).

You've nearly got the right answer already.
Those icons are in SystemUI.apk, that's right. But, for KitKat, Google moved that file from system/app to system/priv-app.
Have a look at my theming tool, Tickle My Android (tinyurl.com/ticklemyandroid). It has a variety of navbar icons to choose from and can change them for you.

While your tool indeed looks very powerufll and very(!) interesting, (I might even give it a try)
I usually love to unpack APKs (if I found them) and exchange files.
