Reg tweaks (bat icon etc)
Hey guys, I've just flashed the Core 2.0 rom to my wizard, which was previously running on WM5. I was tweaking the reg a bit with tweaks that I knew from WM5 but I couldn't find all the reg keys. For instance I'm unable to remove the battery icon and comm icon from the bottom tray at the today screen. Does anyone have a link to a site or file where I can find all the reg edits for WM6. I did a quick search but I couldn't find anything. I also saw some nice features in the program htcTweakUI. This is a program that is incorperated in the LVSW WM6 rom for the HTC HErmes. Does anybody know if this program is separatly available for download (and not incorperated in the rom) and if it workes on the wizard? Thank a lot

Shadow_Sliding Panels Questions Hi Ricky This is exactly the functionality I am looking for. Need some help though with the installation. Although I am new to this I am technical and had no problems upgrading my Tornado WM5 to WM6 using Nitrogen's Tornado_WM6_Platinum...sp1.rar... 1/ CHomeHelp references StartMenu/Accessories/ThemeChanger. I could not find that. 2/ I followed the instructions but find that with both Shadow and SlidingPanels that I get the right colours and top and bottom horizontal bars but the middle area is blank. If I change the Home Screen to Wireless Windows every displays as it should. Any suggestions? By the way, this set up is my fall-back one. I would have loved to have used "illi_WM6.1_remade_by_rickwyatt_v2a.zip". My problem there though was I could not find the Bluetooth voice dial (add voice tag) command, and the InfraRed was dead even though the phone interface indicated it was on and functioning. I would be happy with either a functioning Shadow_SlidingPanels OR your WM6.1 remake to support voice tag and IR. Much appreciate any help you can give me. I think the work you and others on this thread do is amazing. ErwinA Tornado DTV

You cannot use this on WM6 because this needs WM6.1.

now up ready for download
Managed to find time to try this. It doesnt seem to work with my cooked WM6.1 ROM. My device freeze and require a reflash. I also tried with Blackdragon_860's Breeze release but the same happen. 1) Does it only work with your Neo ROM? 2) Does your Neo ROM support threaded sms? Thanks Rick for all you help.
This crashed my phone and I also had to re-flash the rom.

Hey all, I am currently using the energy rom with TF3D2.. I'm not to good at alterations to the phone and tweaks etc. but i am wondering.. on the home screen where the clock is.. the softkeys are LEFT: Contacts RIGHT: Comm Mgr. Now my question is.. am i able to change the Comm Mgr. one (as i never use it) to say an action screen that i've installed? I have tried numerous things and they dont seem to work. On the original Touch Flo i knew how to do it but as i said, i cant figure out how to do it on the new one.. Any help would be much appreciated!

Sounds like you are using WM6.5. The CHome homescreen takes over the softkey assignments the same way TouchFlo3D does. In order to change the Left and Right Softkey, you'll have to make the change manually in the registry or from a CHome Titanium Customizer. The registry setting is easy if you know the link url to the file you want Go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CClock\ Find the Strings "SK2TEXT" and "SK2URL". The SK2TEXT is the name the button will display, and the URL is the link. If you're wondering, in the main CHome Key (folder) you'll find the SK1TEXT and SK1URL which is the Left SoftKey; although I would leave contacts up there.
he said hes using tf3d2. he didnt say he was using chome.
Thanks for that! I found it in the registry.. the only thing is.. how do i create a URL for the program that i want to run when i click that softkey? player911 said: Sounds like you are using WM6.5. [Q] moving items in WM6.5 start menu ?
Hi, on Wm6.5 roms for the touch HD you can press and hold on the start menu items an move them arround but in the HD2 you can only send them to top. Thats is a really ugly to reorder lots of icons. I think there must be a key in the registry to set this behaviour but cant find it. Someone knows it? PD: Someone sugested a program called "JWMD Icon Changer V1.9 beta" to change the order of the start menu items, but i want the easy press and hold way I will have both HD and HD2 for a few days only so I can compare registry values on both but dont know where exactly to look at.
It's not quite as simple as a single registry key. Whatever build you were running was either a 6.5.x build (start button on the bottom bar) or had some 6.5.x portions built in. That feature only started appearing in the 2303x builds, and is probably a pretty low level change. Meanwhile, the HD2 does not run one of those special builds of 6.5, so I'd say that until cooked ROMs come to the HD2, there's not much you can do besides use that program.
Damn! you're right. my HD got a 23xxx build from Dutty and the HD2 got an extremely old build Well let's wait for cooked rom then Thanks
[MOD] HTC Task Manager link in Notification Enhancement WM6.5(.X) [May/26/2010]
Alright guys it's been a while since I contributed much of anything to the forum but I'm feeling generous today. What we have here is a way to use the HTC Task Manager with WM6.5.X. (WILL also work with WM6.5 - See post 3) In the HTC Huashan OEM Package leak, the newer Notification Enhancement package has a link to the MS Task Manager built into it. This enables you to quickly access the MS Task Manager without having to browse through the settings on your device. What I did: 1. Opened up notificationmanager.dll with a hex editor. 2. Searched for "taskmgr.exe(MS Task Manager)" and change it to TaskApp.exe 3. Searched for "Task Manager" string and "Broke" the checksum for the HTC Task Manager(this allows for the Task Manager link in the notification enhancement to exist even if HTC Task Manager is present) 4. Made a duplicate of TaskManagerApp.exe from HTC Task Manager and renamed it to "TaskApp.exe" 5. Added "TaskApp.exe" to system exclusive in HTC Task Manager 6. Disabled "TodayX" so task manager will not overlap clock on today screen The result - You click the title bar on your device to launch the Notification Enhancement and now when you click on "Task Manager" you will launch the HTC Task Manager instead of the MS task manager. This allows you to add apps to exclusive and also set apps to close when you hit the X or back button on your device instead of just minimizing them. After I was finished making all the changes, I cooked them in to test. Success!! Everything worked exactly as I expected it to. Seeing as how pleased I am with my results, I present to you, my modded packages to be cooked into your ROMS. CAB FILE RELEASE NOTES:: I also uploaded 2 separate cab files. One for WM6.5 and one for WM6.5.x. Please be sure to download the correct version for the ROM you're using. If either Notification Enhancement or HTC Task Manager already exists in the ROM you're using then installation might fail. This happens because the Notification Enhancement or Task Manager Services may already be running. If this happens, you'll have to do the following: 1. Delete the following keys from the registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Shell\Notification\OEM] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Services\TaskManager] 2. Soft-reset your device 3. Try reinstalling the cab again. ______________________________________________________________ I hope you enjoy the fruits of my labor just as I have. You can find everything attached below. (Special Thanks goes out to kimi_sae_ireba who helped to better explain the hex editor)

Installed the 6.5 cab on miris 6.5 ROM. The HTC taskmanager is accesable using the quick menu on the today screen however it breaks the notification manager and only default windows bubbles pop up when pressing the task bar. Uninstalled it and everything is back.
