Hi guys, I have searched for awhile but with no luck. I am looking for an app that will turn my home or search button into an unlock key.
When the phone is locked I just long press the home or search key and my phone unlocks. I don't really like pressing the power button.
Thanks!
those buttons are non functional until you press the power button. they're not physical buttons so they can't be used for what you want
Tap tap app works with the proximity sensor to wake up and turn off the screen of the phone ( kinda like using the force ). When you wake the screen just unlock using the normal screen ring to middle swipe.

Just played around with it and this app actually UNLOCKS the phone. No more swiping needed to unlock the ring, even though the lockscreen is cool an all. This can be disabled if you do enjoy the lockscreen app .
This app does skip that but right now unsure on how it affects battery.
Hey, quick question in regards to the Tap Tap app. I've been using it and so far fine, but wondering if this wears out the proximity sensor in any way? Red light kind of always on? Or am I being a bit paranoid?
hi
i had a question re locking and unlocking the screen. At the moment i press power button to lock the screen. then to unlock i press power button to wake up the screen and then move the onscreen ring to unlock the phone.
My previous phone was xperia arc s and had three hard buttons on the bottom which i would press to wake up the screen. I quite miss that, especially for unlocking the phone.
any alternatives other than to always keep the screen awake!
ta
"Screen off and lock" for turning it off. Works very good.
For turning it on I've seen a few apps that use the proximity sensor (i.e. put the phone with the screen against the table and it switches off, pick it up and it switches on). Not a great battery drain, but I don't know if leaving the proximity sensor always on could damage it...
Some ROMs have a setting for waking the screen with the volume rocker, and there are also a couple of kernels that have "sweep to wake". Thats where you sweep your finger across the soft keys at the bottom of the phone, from one side to the other. Other than those two thing thats about it for alternative ways to wake the screen.
Is there a way to enable screen wake up by touching the home/ menu/any soft key? I have rooted fone
Is there kernel on N5 that supports double tap to wake, but automatically disables that feature when proximity sensor is active, so it does not turn on in my pocket?

I don't think so but you can set a timeout or disable this feature if the screen is locked after pressing the power button. It should be enough IMO
Hi all
I have a Note 10+ (from launch, in the UK) and if I'm on a call and take the phone away from my ear to end the call or press a number the screen doesn't wake up at all, I have to press the power button to wake the screen.
Is there anything I can do to fix this as it's incredibly annoying
Thanks!
Easy, calibrate your sensor, check this:
